I only have teh first two albums and a few songs i've downloaded from other's... and i'm not forcing them on you, only stating that you should listen to them more before having an opinion... I happen to think slipknot is the most innovative band in the metal genre, aside from the epic-symphonic metal genre.. but the attitude of slipknot is fan friendly and very open, and thats fuckin great for someone who followed gn'r for so long... their music has an attitude that matches mine and I think thats very important when you're listening to slipknot.. if you don;t have a smash your face in fuck you and your little feelings attitude, then no... they're not for you probably.. but i've met people who hated slipknot, and after they listened to 'em, found they loved 'em more than they admitted... I've heard the same opinion you have by so many, until they get into 'em.. and most people only like the last album, because it's so much different than their other's, and have a radio friendly song or two on it.. and then after they listen to that and then more, they find out they just wasnt opening their mind to what slipknot is about and doing with their music... and the show's are amazing, no shortage of shit going on, wit pyro, and sid jumping off the speaker's into the crowd, so many different thing's it's so exciting wtaching them and how much they really do care about their music and their fan's.. it's fuckin awesome.. it's an eye opener to just how much of a fan they are... and how much they love to give bak to us, the fan's... the people who throw our middle finger's in the air and scream "FUCK ME, I'M ALL OUTTA ENEMIES".. and to wtach them marvel at the crowd as theyc ome on stage, or when they finish a song.. it's awesome..

But Children of Bodom have fuck you attitude too and I don't only listen to them because I can relate to the music I also listen to them becuz I play guitar and like to listen to kick ass solos and great guitar melodis and every time I have heard something with Slipknot it's just play as hard and heavy you can and no solos and just scream.

Well, they're last album had a few solos, but the only solos I heard were Pulse Of The Maggots and Vermillion. They were alright, POTM is the most impressive, even though it sounds kinda Slayer-ish.

I dont mind Slipknot, at least their later stuff. I dont care about what statement they were trying to make, some songs were alright.
