scottish nutter
looks to me like the difference is one is a normal cab and the other is a slanted cab(speaker cab) shouldnt make any differenceonly problem is that its an marshall mg and most people hate the mg amps, i had an mg30dfx and it sounded like shit, i now have a marshall dsl401 and it sounds alot better, best thing to do is get to a shop that has one and try it before you order one because they realy do sound bad

scottish nutter
think you can pick them up fairly cheap 2nd hand on ebay, if you do decide to get a dsl401 2nd hand make sure its no older than a 2004 model because the older models were known to heat up alot and cause problems. a new dsl401 cost about £400 new in the uk and for once we are getting a better deal the the americans, but do yourself a favour and avoid that mg amp and dont get a marshall avt amp either, that tends to be the next stage up from the mg but they break down alot and dont have the greatest sound eitherheres me giving someone advise on amps and im shit on my guitar Edited April 22, 2007 by scottish nutter

scottish nutter
some people do like the mg, id like to know Mr_Oujamaflip and ssiscool have any of you tried a better amp? or is the mg the best amp you've tried so far? the reason i ask is because i liked the sound of the mg when i heard it in the shop, it also sounded pretty good for about 20 mins when i tried it at home, then after that i started to dislike the sounds from it and i wasnt able to get a good sound that i wanted, i got my dsl401 and played it for a month before selling the mg, before a guy came to pickup the mg i tried it again and the tone was terrible, sounded sterile although i did like the reverb on it, i have heard another one so i know the one i had wasnt broken, but saying that everyone likes different sounds and guitar gear, what i like or dislike doesnt mean eveyone else will be the same, as long as your happy thats all that matters B)

sabre
Please don't buy a marshall MG series if you're going to spend that much. For $600 you can get something so much better.http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Pea...mbo-?sku=481014 is a great amp for the same priceOr, if you have to have marshall - http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Mar...-DFX?sku=482629
aidlook
Are you going by looks or sound here??Do you really need a 4x12? A marshall stack shure looks cool, but for the cash you could get a much better amp.IMO, get a tube amp if you're gonna spend that amount of cash anyway. AxlisOld
Or if you do need a 4x12, buy a nice tube amp, and use the ext. cab output to a second hand cab off of ebay, get em cheap.
