gnrrulz Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 What do you all think about this song? http://free.napster.com/view/album/index.html?id=12481526I don't own any of their albums and never really liked their other songs but this one isn't bad. Its not the best thing I've ever heard but its not the worst either.May actually be a decent album. Quote
axlslash Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 SWEET GOD! I'm a Stripes fan myself, moreso a fan of the Raconteurs but definitely a Stripes fan. This song is INCREDIBLE! I cannot wait for the rest of the record now! Quote
carsonskitz Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 yehthe stripes are kool...cant wait for the album! Quote
Estranged Reality Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Album just leaked - apparently through a radio station. Quote
M_B Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 this song is amazing! way better than their last album material, great riff, love the freaky lyrics and how he delivers them. awesome! Quote
rubys_corner Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Yes, i dig it! Somehow it reminds me of Led Zeppelin and The Doors, the late 60s and 70s, when people like Jimmy Page would go psychadelic and play a guitar solo for 14 minutes! Quote
Estranged Reality Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 the videoGod is Meg sexy or what!To be honest, I really don't think she is: Does anybody think it's weird that they refer to themselves as brother and sister yet they are actually not related, but were married for a few years and got divorced in 2000?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_White_%28musician%29Jack met Meg White in 1994, and they were married on September 21, 1996. In unorthodox fashion, Jack took Meg's surname. In July of 1997, the White Stripes made their first live appearance at the Gold Dollar in Detroit. In keeping live performances to three elements, Jack fulfilled guitar and vocal duties while Meg played drums.[4] They divorced in 2000 before becoming nationally famous. Nevertheless, Jack and Meg claim to be siblings and always refer to each other as so. Quote

Guest knerken Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Great song. But I'm more fan of their slower songs. Hope the new album contains some good slower tunes too. Quote
Estranged Reality Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 and btw the albums leaked? is that true?A poor quality version.Better quality will probably arrive in the next few days, so I'm not giving in yet. I'll wait for something better. Quote
Black Monk Time Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 I know i shouldn't judge the album entirely on a low-quality leak but it's really, really shit. This is probably the most disappointing album i've ever listened to; there's some good songs but overall it's just another disappointment, like 'Get Behind Me Satan'. Quote
Estranged Reality Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 (edited) Well, Warner Bros. has always been the most active in enforcing piracy laws: they were the first company to start monitoring IPs on TorrentSpy.com and sending cease-and-desists. I *think* they own HBO (not sure) which also sent out cease and desists a lot to people downloading Sopranos and other famous HBO shows.Anyway, WB is really taking action against this Icky Thump leak. They've hired the Web Sheriff (http://www.websheriff.com) to cruise forums like Atease removing links and telling people to stop posting stuff or they'll get sued. But then it was revealed that the Web Sheriff sent e-mails to Oink.co.uk a while ago accusing his site of hosting material that wasn't even there, and he had all his facts wrong: Edited June 1, 2007 by Estranged Reality Quote
Dead Flower Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 When I first heard this song it reminded me of Wolfmother (ie. an average Zeppelin rip-off).It's kinda enjoyable, I suppose. I do like this group. Jack White writes some awesome riffs, and it was awesome how he beat the piss out of Jason Stollsteimer in a barfight. Quote
