pain cake Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 (edited) I've never been into this kinda stuff, but I borrowed one of their albums from a friend, and I gotta say, there's some damn good stuff on this. From the always popular "Personal Jesus" and "Enjoy the Silence" to "Barrel of a Gun" and "Condemnation" they're certainly refreshingly different Edited May 24, 2007 by pain cake Quote
Morten.. Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Depeche Mode is a great band, I really like their sound and Dave's voice. Violater is one of the best albums ever made IMO. Quote
bluesy Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Violator is an absolute gem! I prefer not to watch the music videos, though. Quote
EccoTides Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 (edited) Depeche Mode are certainly an interesting band, and one of my recent favorites. As someone said up above, it's their cool, dark sound and Dave's fantastic vocals that really engage me.Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion are incredible albums, and the albums following through the '90s and '00s have quite a few gems on them, especially "Dream On," "A Pain that I'm Used To" and "Love Thieves."I love their early period aswell - "The Singles: '81-'85" is a must-buy, as you can really hear the band evolving from fun pop band to a heavy, gloomy synth machine.
