Why would you post 125 albums?

Bored?

I was making a personal list for http:///www.rateyourmusic.com, and yes, I was bored.

I'm one of those guys who kinda likes making lists of stuff... once in a while, when I have nothing better to do, I like to kind of categorize things. It's mainly for myself, actually - iTunes can get so cluttered that I forget all the great stuff I have lying about, and I end up just listening to the same stuff over and over again. Forcing myself to scroll through helps me uncover stuff that I'd forgotten I had - for example, I hadn't listened to Sonic Youth for a while.

At least you didn't put AFD at the top. Too many here would cave and do that.

Yes, because Appetite for Destrution is certainly not the best album ever made.

it isn't.

yeah the list is a bit too focused on the 60s for me. It seems like you just sat down and figured out 15 artists you like and ranked their albums but i did see some variety getting towards the end of the list. no captain beefheart? :(

It's not the best, it's definitely one of them though.

How hard is it to understand that although it's not the greatest record ever made, this is a Favorites thread. So if someone puts AFD at the top, it's because it's their personal favorite?

It's not a crime to have it as your favourite. I'm just saying that too many would put it up there automatically on this forum.
