pain cake Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 (edited) I've been listening to a lot of beatles recently and John Lennon is the most amazing musician I have ever experienced. His lyrics are so deep and meaningful (much better than McCartney's hollow love songs to no one)The song specifically I'm So Tired speaks to me, it artichulates perfectly what I'm going through right now (a very hard break up) I wonder should I call you but I know what you would doYou'd say I'm putting you onBut it's no joke, it's doing me harmYou know I can't sleep, I can't stop my brainYou know it's three weeks, I'm going insaneYou know I'd give you everything I've got for a little peace of mindSo everyone give Lennon some Love! Lithium Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 John's my favourite Beatle, such a brilliant lyricist. Quote
ffrankwhite Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 theres a lot to be said for old Paulie y'know. for all of his lyrical forthrightness, Lennon needed the Macca whimsy and melody to balance things. Quote

Paul is my favourite Beatle and is one of the greatest song writers/musicians of all time , however Lennon was a true legend who's status will never be matched again.duff21 Quote
ffrankwhite Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 (edited) below is a list of the beatles work, now although most of these songs were written literally eyeball to eyeball and Lennon called it, they are listed under the heading of the person who wrote the most of it or had the original idea with differing degrees of input from the other so its a useful guide for anyone interested, not to turn this into a mccartney vs lennon thread because thats not the intention. just a useful little guide for those interested. and George in there too JOHN LENNONMiseryPlease Please MeDo You Want to Know A Secret? There's A PlaceIt Won't Be LongAll I've Got to DoLittle ChildNot A Second TimeA Hard Day's NightI Should Have Known BetterIf I FellI'm Happy Just to Dance With YouTell Me WhyAny Time At AllI'll Cry InsteadWhen I Get HomeYou Can't Do ThatI'll Be BackNo ReplyI'm A LoserI Don't Want to Spoil the PartyHelp! You've Got to Hide Your Love AwayYou're Gonna Lose that GirlTicket to RideIt's Only LoveNorwegian WoodNowhere ManThe WordGirlIn My Life*WaitRun For Your LifeI'm Only SleepingShe Said, She SaidAnd Your Bird Can SingDr. RobertTomorrow Never KnowsLucy in the Sky With DiamondsBeing for the Benefit of Mr. KiteGood Morning, Good MorningI Am the WalrusStrawberry Fields ForeverAll You Need is LoveHey BulldogDear PrudenceGlass OnionWild Honey PieThe Continuing Story of Bungalow BillHappiness is a Warm GunI'm So TiredJuliaYer BluesEverybody's Got Something to Hide....Sexy SadieRevolution 1Cry Baby CryRevolution 9GoodnightDig A PonyAcross the UniverseOne After 909Come TogetherI Want You (She's So Heavy)BecauseSun KingMean Mr. MustardPolythene PamI'll Get YouThis BoyI Call Your NameI Feel FineYes It IsDay TripperRainDon't Let Me DownThe Ballad of John and YokoPAUL MCCARTNEYI Saw Her Standing ThereAsk Me WhyLove Me DoP.S.
