DopeSickGirl
Well.. Does what it says in the title really Just wondering what anyone who's in a band band's like.My band is a three piece punk/hardcore outfit called Cider With Roadies. We don't really have anything recorded as yet, we just gig a lot. Its more about playing live than recording for us really! There's me on bass and lead vox although I'm a terrible singer, though that matters not in a punk band Jay (we call him Mongrel) plays lead guitar and backing vocals. He yells a lot too! Tommy drums which occasionally makes me feel likeI'm in The Ramones. Me and Mongrel met Tommy on a bus at 1am drunk on our way back from a gig and formed the band then and there! The name is taken from a book I love! Anyone else? xDSGxEDIT: Goddamn it! Wrong section.. Sorry Edited July 2, 2007 by DopeSickGirl
feconroses
My band was like guns n roses...with an awesome lead guitar player and a awesome singer (his voice is like axl or baz), and we did GNR type of hard rock.We had a gig yesterdey, but we spilt up cuz the unprofesionalism(sp?) from the drummer, bassist and the other guitar player. Me and the singer are playing to do another band with guys that are 100% into music...not with some fucking lazy assholes.
Slash Guitarist
My band has:Ben - VocalsMe - GuitarLamley - BassJohn - DrumsWe want a rythm guitarist but they are proving to be hard to find. And the singer works too much so he can rareley practice and the drummer thinks he owns the band just cuz he is older, i mean there is no "I" in band!!!! No one should own the band it should be equal. But if there was to be anyone own it, it would be me and the bass player as we started it. Getizzyback
I had a band a long time ago , it was a just for fun thing , I had it with my childhood friends (man , I miss those days!). I was the drummer , and did most of the singing , one guy played bass/keyboards and the other guy played guitar (Jimi Hendrix probally turned over in his grave! )There is a video on youtube , I'm not sure what it is , but I did see my infamous "Hand" whichrepresented one of our songs "Dirty Fingernails" I traced my own hand and gave it the sharp treatment.I was surprised when my friend put that on there , but I really don't remember the song , I think it was The Metal Jam , an instramental. 1989 ! check it out and get a good laugh I forgot to mention , the name of our band was "The Metal Machine" .....yea , I know real original , but we said it the first day , and it just kept hanging around. damian 1200
Its hard to get a band started up here, due to every bloody musician being in more than one band...and girlfriends...its shit.Although, i am supposedly in a band, with me on bass & vocals, Nathan & Mike on Guitar & Ron(Ted) on Drums, though we cant get practice time due to the above problems. Bucketslash
Us?We're Epitaph!(My newest project)(I'm very enthusiastic about it)We got...Matthew Sychantha-Lead GuitarA complete 60's throwback mixing Eric Clapton, Tom Morello, Jack White, Slash, Brian May, and Syd Barrett, and Peter Green for intresting and melodic guitar work that branches off into many different styles. With his Les Paul he aims to bring some ass kicking with a child like energy to do it.Dan Donahue-Lead VocalsWith an impressive 3 to 4 octave range, Dan not only looks like meatloaf, he sounds like him in many cases. With a voice that hits a man like thier being shot from a cannon and a great taste for hard rock and metal, Dan's aggressive style is a front running power to the band.Jon Bouvier-KeyboardsJon brings with him a sense of refinement to the band, picking up a guitar when Matt needs more base to go off into his solo frenzies. Make no mistake, Jon's guitar ability gives Matt a run for his money, drawing of the early 80's and late 70's stylings of Van Halen and Ozzy. On keyboards he is a classically trained powerhouse.Michelle Poisson-Drums and PercussionA drummer with alot to prove, as this is her first band. That said though experience may be in short supply, talent and raw technique aren't. By her steady and rythmic hand, she holds the band on it's leash, and by her dedication, She's ready to unleash her power to the world.Kevin Card-Bass GuitarWith his intelligence comes backbone, pure and simple. Wise beyond his years, he knows how to keep everyone in check, and knows how to see the bigger picture in things. Thats not to say that Kevin doesn't have the same hunger as every other member, maybe even more so than the rest. It is in this quiet subte power that the band truly comes together. And when they do, he makes sure the sum of all the parts equals more than the whole.Anyone intrested in seeing my band now?
