bax Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Uncle Tupelo was an early 90's band that played what would now be considered alt-country. They were amazing songwriters and their music had punk rock guitars on country type of songs. They broke up and became Wilco and Son Volt, which are both great bands. If you like country rock you would be into them for sure. Quote
JONEZY Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 This band is from Belleville, IL. About 20 minutes away from me. Not a huge fan, but I liked a few songs. Quote
bax Posted July 12, 2007 Author Posted July 12, 2007 I've heard a couple of Uncle Tupelo things. Pretty cool. Wilco's obviously a great band. But I've been a big fan of Son Volt too. The first album was great, and I really liked the hard rock one he put out a couple of years ago. I went to see them three nights in a row while they were opening for the Drive-by Truckers. I think Windfall is probably my favorite song of theirs.DBT-they deserve a thread of their own! I've seen them live several times and they never disappoint. Quote
