Have you seen Orange County DVD? that gig is fuckin' great!I've not! Is it wort me checking it out?Oh yes, it definitely is! And Social Distortion is a great band. Mike Ness & his guitar = a perfect combination Dunno about those set lists but speaking of those songs I'd say Angel's Wings acoustic is so powerful and beautiful song. Just lovin' it. Their latest album is my favourite, so many good songs in there and I love Ness' lyrics. I'd say SD is a very underrated group at least here in Europe. It is somehow shame because Mike is a very talented musician and devoted to what he is doing. Quote
DopeSickGirl Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Is it availble on DVD yeah?I'll get it if so ..and I totally agree - they're definately underrated here in the UK.xDSGx Quote
Gash Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Very underrated band. Much appreciate. "Don't Drag Me Down" is probably my favourite song. Quote

UYIllusion Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Right before "Civil War" came out from the "Nobodys Child" album, there was talk of a new GNR song. I heard "Ball and Chain" and I thought that was the new song because I believed Mike Ness sounded like Axl's deep voice. Boy was I wrong! I liked the song though. Quote

John Bonham Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I've been on a real SD kick lately. It's real music for real people. If you're feeling blue, throw on some Social Distortion and rock out and you will feel no pain.Has anyone listened to any of Mike Ness' solo albums? Thoughts? Quote
SunnyDRE Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 My Fave SD song:Social Distortion - Bad Luckhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhC0231FRA8Has a real "Neil Young-ish" sound to it, IMO Quote
chevelle Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I only have Sex, Love, and Rock n' Roll but it's a pretty cool album. One of my friends turned me on to them a few months ago. What should I get next? Quote
.Seal Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Saw SD live yesterday and Mike Ness was brilliant! Awesome gig! Quote
Rodzilla72 Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 So I know I'm always the cranky "they're old stuff is the best" guy but... well, their old stuff is killer and totally different (the newer stuff's fine, too, but just do yrself the favor of seeing where they started). My fave SD song will probably always be 1945, but that's because I first got into them as an angry 14 year old discovering the great hardcore power pop bands of the 80s (like Social D, the Descendents, Gov't Issue, Husker Du, Bad Brains, the Circlejerks, Naked Raygun, Black Flag, along w/ my hometown heroes GangGreen, Mission of Burma, and the Del Fuegos). The best intro to SD's genesis is the ridiculously amateur tour doc Another State of Mind (also featuring the late but not terribly great Youth Brigade)...Here's the wiki-page about it:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Another_State_of_Mind_(film) Quote
