The festival will be held from July 13 to 15. Groups and soloists from all around the world will attend the

appointment. The number of summer visitors in this Basque capital is expected to rise with this event.

Bilbao Live FestivalThe music bands Guns and Roses, Placebo, Pretenders, The Cardigans and Los Planetas,

as well as the soloist Ben Harper, have confirmed their part in the first edition of the Bilbao Live festival, to

be held in the Bizkaian capital from July 13 to 15.

The event will have a euro4.2 budget. The Bilbao City Council, sponsor of the festival organised by the

private promoter "Last Tour International," will pay out 870,000 plus the fitting-out of the area where it will

be held (estimated half million euros.) Thus, Bilbao is organising for the first time a great music event to

attract visitors to the city.

On a press conference, organisers Alfonso Santiago and Xabier Arretxe confirmed the presence of 35 bands,

soloists and DJs of many different styles.

Guns and Roses, main lure

Out of those 35 groups already hired, the North-American hard rock Guns and Roses stands out, to perform

on July 14. It will present the music and fireworks spectacle of their European summer tour.

Apart from the two main stages for big bands, there will also be three marquees for electronic music and

crossbreeding, for Ben Harper accompanied by The Innocent Criminals, Alex Kowalski or Dutch Armin Van Buuren, for instance.

Representing the Spanish State, visitors will find Los Planetas, Catalan Ojos de Brujo, Cristina Vareal, or

Basque HASH, Zodiacs or El Inquilino Comunista.

Organisers noted that there is still room for 15 bands more.

Stages and camping area

The two main stages, 20x20 and 20x15 each, won't limit the duration of bands' performances and will offer a

125,000-watt sound equipment and 200,000-watt lighting.

Organisers will fit out a camping area for 5,000 people and special bus services top get to the Kobetas

Mountain, far from downtown Bilbao.
