that's just how concerts are now, even Manson shows in small theaters are full of people with phones.

I hate to admit this I went to a pearl jam show at msg last month. The crowd was killer. They were singing along screaming. It had great energy. I was with two people who were with me in Vegas for the for show amd I had to lie to them saying GNR crowd had more energy. I refused to admit the truth out of love for my band

  2. What happened to the energy. Seems like the crowds just standing there. I was at both Vegas shows and was sad that the energy was lackluster. I chalked it up to shock and awe that gnr was on stage. No jumping around then and in Detroit. Just thousands of people standing there with phones. Am I wrong? I want to head butt someone and jump around.  Are the true gnr fans to old to have a good time?

It's about chemistry and feel dude -- Izzy just gels with Slash better than any other guitarist on earth. He's also vital to the band's songwriting.

Fortus may arguably be a better technical guitarist but how good does he work with Duff and Slash? How good are his songwriting skills?

If we are going by pure skills, Axl already tried that in 1999-2002 by recruiting freese, Buckethead, etc who were all incredible session players -- but as he found out, technical ability doesn't make a band.

Duff,Axl, Slash, and Izzy sitting in a room writing songs will always beat what the '02 band could do. Chemistry can't be denied.

For the record, Buckethead is an epic talent as are Brain and Freese. The rest of nu guns were meh imho.

It's been so long since they were all in a room together writing music. Appetite was born out of real life struggle and brotherhood that even if they get into a studio now will be impossible to replicate. I agree if they can make music again it would be together, but it will be different. They are not 21 year old maniacs now worrying about the next meal. They are 55 and are not struggling to survive. I'm not saying I wouldn't be thrilled to see an album, fuck yeah I would.  But it won't be appetite

  6. I'm sure you guys will be slightly confused about the title for obvious reasons, seeing as how Jan 28 2006 has long passed according to our calendars.

What I am thinking of is the chinese calendar. It would be a clever stunt pulled by GNR but since there is an obvious chinese theme going on with the band now, it would be a possibility they are planning the release according to the chinese calendar.

The first day of the chinese new year this year is the 29th of Jan by our calendars, which is a Wednesday. So with that in mind Canada and the US could have until the 28th of Jan to get the album and the UK the 27th.

I don't exaclty have all the faith in the world about this theory, It's just something that popped into my mind when I noticed there was a "made in China" tage on the GNR hat I bought at the Ottawa show a few days ago (which kicked more ass that Chuck Norris's boots, by-the-way).

way too much time on your hands man
