  1. I have two tickets to sell for Philadelphia July 14. I HAVE the tickets already from Ticketmaster. Section 108, row 48.

Face value, $99 x 2. $198 total. I have a Paypal account. I'm willing to eat the extra charges-just need to sell the tickets! I'll pay shipping by trackable mail to anywhere in the US, to boot!

PM me if interested. Trying here first before going to Stubhub. Figured give them a good home till July.

  3. If the commercial spot was to be removed, how come it's 8 hours later and the spot is still live at the HD site?

I work in the licensing industry and work with many of the ad agencies. So, I can vouch for the thing of SOMETIMES shit slips by. This is too weird. C'mon, this is 8 hours later, the site is still live with the spot and the mention of the song and the album. Something is up.

Even if all of the lawyers between the GNR camp, Harley Davidson and their ad agency were fighting this out, then the site would be down LIKETHAT until shit was sorted out. Or whatever the license states on using "Better" on the Harley site, then maybe the Harley lawyers are firing back at a cease and desist.

Nevertheless: This all happened on a Friday. Right before the weekend. Right before next Tuesday, the start of the tour. Oldest Public Relations move in the book. So we can buzz about it over the weekend. DUH.

  4. Many bands and acts today incorporate some sort of visual or multimedia with a cd/album release. Name any act that hasn't at least had some video/bonus feature on a recent release.

So, for shooting footage of the Hammerstein shows, they're probably shooting for their files now. If it comes out good in some way, I would greatly think that Axl would release it.

Or, just like in sports, they're shooting the game to review the plays. And everyday they're in the locker room going over the film.

  5. I think the NY Dolls said it best:

"Something must have happened over Manhattan

Who can expound all the children this time

Could they ever, could they ever

    Expect such a Frankenstein, Frankenstein"

I live here in NYC. I'm going to a friend's wedding in Bkyln tonight, so I won't be around the boards here until the small hours of tomorrow. There should be oh, about a GAZILLION pages to sort through by then.

I'm going on the 17th. But dangit if I'm not burstin' at the seams to know what happens tonight!!!!

To all who are traveling, near and far, blessed good vibes for a speedy and safe journey here and return home.

To all who are going tonight-enjoy to the fullest, and come back to us to spread the good word.

  6. Hmmm, where have I heard Tommy say "I Don't Know" before???

OH YEAH!!!-The Pleased to Meet Me album, '87.

    I DON'T KNOW

Do we give it up? (I don't know)

Should we give it hell? (I don't know)

Are you makin' a fortune? (I don't know)

Or don't you wanna tell? (I don't know)

Should we give it up? (I don't know)

Or hang around some more? (I don't know)

Should we buy some beer? (I don't know)

    Can I use your hairspray?

One foot in the door, the other foot in the gutter

The sweet smell that you adore, yeah I think I'd rather smother.

Should we top it off? (I don't know)

    It's startin' to smoke.* (I don't know)

    Who's behind the board? (I don't know)

    They tell me he's a dope. (I don't know)

What the fuck you sayin'? (I don't know)

Our lawyer's on the phone. (I don't know)

How much are you in for? (I don't know)

    What did we do now?

One foot in the door, the other one in the gutter

The sweet smell that they adore, I think I'd rather smother

One foot in the door, the other one in the gutter

The sweet smell that they adore, well I think I'd rather smother

    (4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12)

Are you guys still around? (I don't know)

Whatcha gonna do with your lives? (Nothin'!)

One foot in the *fuckup*, the other one in the gutter

The sweet smell that you adore, hey I think I'd rather smother

One foot in this door, the other one in the gutter

The sweet smell that they adore, oh I think I'd rather smother

and if you look at this song, written and recorded almost twenty years ago, it seems very up to date with Guns N' Roses.

    Oh, the irony.

  7. VERY Cool, many thanks for that.

Is it me, or that looking at all that, you think, that in earnest most of the 'work' has been done in the past few years, not so much in the 90s. And that I'm almost saying, 'well, that wasn't that long'.

Then again, checking all of these sites and boards for, ooooo, say, 9 FREAKING YEARS.....

    Sorry, I had to vent.

  8. UGH. Axl is pandering to the pantloads at MisShapes.

AXL: MADONNA WENT TO MISSHAPES BEFORE SHE RELEASED HER ALBUM.

I'm so losing patience. And I've been there since the mid 80s.

Want to get scared? Take a look at the gallery of images of the people that attend that sorry excuse for a has been party. It's bad enough we had the yuppies and such back in the 80s. Now we have these limpwristed douchebags/hags running amok.

  9. The odds of a Mats reunion are exactly on par with an original GNR reunion-ZILCH. NADA.

For Westerberg, he would want to do it, but drummer Chris Mars is so not into it. And Tommy is not really into it either (and obviously has other demands now). This is as far as it gets for us Mats fanatics. Trust me, I'm probably one of the biggest Mats fans on this board, and old enough to remember the band quite well. Of course I would want a Mats reunion.

We'll probably see something when (not 'IF') they get into the R'n'R Hall of Fame. But that's about it. We'll take what we can get.

  10. For some of us, when were our hopes down? I mean, so many of us check in to this site and others just to see a bit of information. I've always been thinking there will be a release. Of sorts.

Okay-every now and then, my thoughts and belief would waver. But then something would happen just to perk up my interest again.

I'm of the old guard of Guns fans. You don't come this far to give up. Yes, I've found other bands/musicians/groups that I've become huge fans of, bought their music and seen them live and will continue to do so. But at the same time, this grand wazoo of a mystery has been so sublime-guessing, speculating, pouncing like mad at the first sign of a leak. That's the beauty of this all with Axl. "Beauty" meaning like watching a volcano erupt-the incredible audacity and depth of the situation.

And I believe when it does get released, twice as many people will be talking about it for eons, with twice as much to say. So, it's gonna get crowded around here.

  11. Wooo, boy, SO CANNOT WAIT for all the baby boomers to pass on.

Then we'll be rid of these ad nauseum lists with Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd, Queen, Beach Boys, etc.

I mean, it's the same list each and every time. Doesn't matter which rag puts it out in which country.

Yeah, I know, many of these musicians/bands were the first ones to do their stuff. And no one else has done something so special. ALRIGHT. POINT TAKEN. Goodness knows, there's so many later bands and musicians who cannot jump to the front, or at least up the list, because every single time it's by some way overrated known album/band.

OKAY. WE GET IT. NOW LEAVE.

Don't get me wrong-I personally do not like Radiohead a whole lot. But I'm sick to DEATH of another list proclaiming the same thing a billion other lists already have.

Guns at 24? Take away the old fogeys, and jam it up a good few notches.

  12. Hmmm-at least for this typing, in no order:

    OLD:

The speech lead in to "Out Ta Get Me", Ritz NYC 88.

And basically the entire Ritz 88 show

Also, when I saw the Felt Forum May 88 show, NYC. When they went from the slow version of "You're Crazy" into the AFD version. Axl flew from one sid of the stage to other. Smoked the stage.

    MID:

    Freddie Mercury Tribute.

    NEW:

During "Live and Let Die", once it kick starts after the pyro booms, the way Axl would scream like a damn air raid siren. Basically listen to Pittsburgh to get my drift.

Also, being at MSG, NYC December 02. The house lights went down. The beginning strings of Jungle.

  13. I'd actually put the release of AFD (and LLAS for that matter) as #1 and the NYC Ritz show as #2. I recently watched the uncensored version of the Ritz show last week. I mean C'MON. HOLY FREAKING SHIT. Almost 18 years later. Nothing has come better than that. P-E-R-I-O-D.

  14. Metallca hasn't had a good album since Justice.

BOB ROCK KILLS BANDS. He killed The Cult, and he SLOOOOOWLY killed Metallica. The Black Album sucked and anything after that is "Hi, We're Metallica, and boy we did we lose the plot!"

Velvet Revolver? Like good pizza the morning after. Still has a remnant of taste, but only satiates the hunger so much.

AC/DC? There's a legacy there. They've run their course, and Brian's voice is shot, but I won't say go away. The Stones have to do that first.

Metallica lost the plot so much, they don't know where to end, let alone start over. There's a good band that royally screwed up. They're FUBAR'd.

Face it, go find some good new bands and follow them. Want a hint? MASTADON.
