STREET TEAMS
in 2006
I love GNR as much as the next guy who frequents this and other GNR boards, but doing the whole "Street Team" thing seems kinda lame to me, especially for a band like GNR. It's one thing to organize one for a small band just starting out or a band that just got thier deal and needs to get their name out, but a street team for GNR? Id personally feel lame going out to rock shows in my town passing out Chinese Democracy fliers or whatever. Maybe thats just me though

I saw them open for Metallica also, that dude Travis is mad talented. Awesome songwriter, guitarist/singer. I also saw the Intervention show, how fucking pathetic

I picked Zakk, but it was hard decision between him and Randy. I just enjoy Zakk's playing more. I like his interpretations of the RR era Ozzy songs more than the originals. Plus Im partial b/c I saw Zakk on his first tour with BLS at a tiny club in Phoenix from so close his hair was hitting me in the face and he handed me his Amstel light. He blew me the fuck away with his playing that night, Ive seen alot of good guitarists live but Zakk left the biggest impression. Oh and BTW I love his style with all the badass harmonics he does

Zeppelin by far
-
I always thought Alice in Chains were the best of the Seattle/grunge bands. BTW I think courney killed Kurt. I dont think he blew his head off after shooting up a shitload of heroin.

So who do you think inspired us bands like GNR (If you want to call them a us band)
Bands like Rolling stones, Led zeppelin, pink floyd ETC ETC ETC
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
good point, but who do you think inspired thoses bands?????
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
are you seriously suggesting GNR could be referred to as anything other than an American band?Last I checked Hollywood is in the USA. Even if Slash was born in UK, hes lives in LA most of his life and the other guys are from Indiana, America's heartland, Duff's from Seattle I think Steve was from LA also

I like 2 I like when the two guitar players intertwine their parts like GNR and Aerosmith. I dont like 1 guitar player bands live during solos. That was the only thing that bugged me about alice in chains, only 1 guitar player, I think tow would have sounded great, especially live

Rust In Piece
the song Holy Wars if fucking great
-
Guns N Roses are an LA band, making them an American band. Slash has lived in LA for like 3/4 of his life, he's not a UK artist in my book just because he was born there

Jerry kicks ass. Saw him open solo for Metallica in I think 1997 in Phoenix, he was fucking awesome. I saw him again in 03, good show, but 1st one was the best. It suck Layne is dead, AIC were my fav band along w/GNR
-
I like American Rock
GNR, Aerosmith, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Van Halen, Alice Cooper, CSNY, STP, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Crowes, Pantera, Megadeth
-
I think Pepper is the best, skill/technique wise, but I think Brian May or Collins write the best solos, as far as memorable, melodic great solos
-
AIC is tied with GNR for my fav band. They kicked so much ass, I think it would be cool if Jerry got back with sean kinney and Mike Inez. Would it be Mike Inez on bass, or Mike starr the original guy they kicked out when Layne was still alive?

Skid Row by far is the best of thoses bands I think
-
I think Skid Row blows poison away, they had a WAY more talented singer and much better songs, and I liked how they got heavier when they cam out with Slasve to the Grind, I still like that album
AIC w/no Layne?
in MY WORLD

I just heard Alice in Chains were "reuniting" with a new singer. This is fucking bullshit. Jerry and Layne together were the creative forces and Layne was the voice of the fucking band! Get a new name, there is no AIC without Layne Staley
