  1. 2Pac wasnt a musician, most/all MCs are not musicians, they're incredible lyricists and impeccable performers (check out Rakim).

Axl should not rap. That's pretty obvious - but there are parallels between the themes and the tone of a lot of the music - he shouldn't rap, but look at the breathless delivery of the end of YCBM or Coma.

Listen to AFD, it has the urgency and swing that a lot of hip-hop records have - (remember a lot of the music press noted that Adler sounded like a disco drummer on the record) - i could imagine Mr Brownstone being interpolated into a rap track with the right producer.

You cant 'hum' rap songs? (whatever that means)

    You're All I Need - Method Man & Mary J Blige

    Juicy - Biggie

If I Ruled The World - Nas & Lauren Hill

    Tha Crossroads - Bone Thugs

1st Of Tha Month - Bone Thugs

  2. Layzie Bone has either sampled or recorded a version of WTTJ called 'Welcome 2 My Jungle' as far as what Layzie has said in interviews both Slash and Axl had involvment in it's production - to what degree i don't know.

It was played live last year by Bone Thugs, but no recording exists.

As Bono said last year, 'we're in the age of Hip Hop' look at the stuff that's been released in the last 15 years (since UYI) - Nas' 'Illmatic', Jay-Z's 'Blueprint', Biggie, Pac, The Fugees, The Roots, Em, Common, Kanye.....

GNR were the last great hard rock band - if CD doesn't have the energy or vitality that hip hop has at the moment Axl's in trouble, and based on the leaks, he's in serious trouble.

  3. Part of the work was done back in Rumbo Studios.

For more details try and find a copy of Jeff Leed's article from The New York Times "The Most Expensive Album Never Made" - it's an excellent source, detailing the recording of the record(s).
