I've been listening to the Rolling Stones album Stripped on random for the past two days or so.
Every song is fantastic and I haven't had to click next once.
-
Not really a big fan, but I thought they did a good job on that MTV Icon metallica thing a few years ago:

Should be a good discussion starter.
Personally I think the list is pretty awful.

If you think McCartney sounds pompous but Lennon doesn't then you obviously haven't watched many interviews with the two guys.
Lennon was many things but he definitely wasn't a humble guy.
-
I know their not new, but they just put out a new album and are all over the radio/mtv is what I meant.
I just wanted to see what people who have seen them thought of their show. Was it a spectacle or was it just 3 guys jamming, ect? (Were they good, did you feel like you got your monies worth.)
-
Ok, I'm about to take someone to their first concert. I don't want to take them to any ho hum concert. I wan't something BIG, something that will feel like an event. If anyone here has seen Greenday do you feel like they fit the bill? Would you want them to be your first concert?
I'm not really a greenday fan but there aren't that many things going on this summer. I'm looking at them because their sort of newer and younger but I'm also considering U2.(I've seen them multiple times and I know put on an amazing show). Other options would of course be metallica/aerosmith and zz top, but I think this person isn't really a fan of either of those.

On their myspace it says they are on an "indie" label but now there is a video of this same song posted by universal music group:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ucgtmXkKV8
Which means they might get some promotion now.
I'm going to buy this album off itunes/amazon. All the songs I've heard of theirs have been pretty good.
-
I thought the "soap on a rope" song was cool, the rest have been kinda boring. Hopefully there are better ones they haven't put out yet.
-
Found this on youtube:
Never heard of them but I saw it on the currently being watched thing.
I was actually surprised.. I bet it will be all over the radio.(if its not already.. I don't listen to the radio)
Simple song with a cool hook, will probably get annoying fast.
(the video is pretty bad though...)

I'm not a big fan of this band but I cant wait for their new album.
They rerecorded "wake up" acoustic for the "Where The Wild Things Are" movie and just the little bit in the trailer is golden. I loved that song but never really liked their other stuff, I"ll get their next album just for that version though.
-
Could anyone actually tell if they just got someone to stand in for him?
Yeah... I'm pretty sure hes the only one that looks like he does now.
-
Album is now on myspace for those who don't like to steal:
You have to click on the album, for whatever reason it defaults to just the single.
-
Everybody hates on Neon Tiger but its the only song on the whole album that I like. To me it sounds like one of the cooler U2 songs that U2 never wrote.
I can not stand Human. "are we human, or are we dancers" PUKE.
-
I completely forgot about Jakob Dylan's- Seeing Things.
Didn't get much attention but this album is fantastic. (very similar to tom petty's solo stuff and a little like bob dylan too).
-
Kinda hard since Chinese Democracy isn't out yet. Try next month.
I have all the albums that are released on that list except duffy and verve, but I would say that the best album this year is either Warpaint or That Lucky Old Sun(I know most of you probably dont like Brian Wilson but its a great album)
-
what an odd couple:

It starts off pretty cool but after about 2 min it kind of wears off...
-
I think the album is ok. I do agree with them though that their is a sharp difference in quality from the songs noel wrote and what the others did. I also kind of think they should let him sing too. Liam's voice is no where near what it used to be. Unless I'm wrong and he is the one singing on rapture and not noel.
-
Yikes I hope it doesn't sound like that on the album. I'm not sure if its a bad rip/low quality but it sounds very "noisy" or something. His vocals are hard to hear(song seems cool though from what I can hear)
Edit:
I put on headphones and its a little easier to hear his vocals. Maybe I'm going deaf or the quality of youtube is junk.
-
That's why he was talking shit in the first place. Since Liam got his teeth knocked out by the russian mafia he's been pretty quiet.
I never heard about that, why did they do it?
-
Anyone else loving this album?
Its by no means better than his dad's stuff but this album is good. Hes got a great voice and the songs are well written for the most part(some are a little sappy).
-
Yikes, I cant stand the vocals on any of these songs.
Hopefully the finals will be way better. I cant tell if I like the songs are not they are so bad.
(I do like oasis a lot)

I believe Morrison is dead....but I have read some that there are some legititmate inconsistenies on how he died.
Off Topic: I really do believe 2pac is alive......he is the rapper known as the "The Realist", for those of you who follow Death Row records.
Nah hes dead too.
Now a days celebrities cant take a shit without it being on the internet, I dont think they would be able to get away with faking their death.
-
Of course hes still alive. He's hiding with Elvis on the set of where they faked the moon landing.
Oh and the real Paul McCartney is there too.
-
I'm going to have to go with Joshua Tree.
With or Without You
Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
Where the Streets Have no Name
Its a hard choice to make but with both bands at their best musically, U2 would be my choice.
