  1. Palais Omnisport de Bercy, Paris, France

    17 000 plus the floor.

No no no no isaure. It's 17.000 including the floor !

Sorry to contradict you alan niveen, but it's 17.000 seats (i.e floor not included) ! I don't know if you speak french but it's written here: http://www.bercy.fr/testok.htm

Can't read that french crap, but usually when you have a 17.000 seat capacity you can't use them all when hosting a concert since nobody wants to sit behind the stage... I don't know, maybe 20-25% of the seats can't be used. Please correct me if I'm wrong here...

ok ok, you're right, i missed that point, i apologize :P

I like your sig btw(voltaire quote): fortunately, french people also say intelligent things (sometimes)!

  2. A7X....wtf....I listened to a few MP3's on their site and this is a horrible band. Sorry guys, flame away but the vocals sound like Animal from the muppets gave up drums, started smoking crack and became their lead singer.

There is no vocal melody, you can't understand a single word he says and not in a cool, 'Ministry' sort of way- In a flat out, 'this music sucks' sort of way. Some of the guitar work was cool, very tight and some of the harmony runs reminded me of Iron Maiden, in a way, but the vocals are a Joke.

Hmmm you sure you went on the right site? lol.

If this is it then they are horrible: http://www.avengedsevenfold.com/

I just listened to, 'An epic of Time Wasted', please tell me I have the wrong band?

It's the right band i'm afraid :scared: This is the name written on my tickets (for the Paris concert). They are opening with Bullet for my Valentine.

  3. what u guys think, being in NYC for a while now, and flying to places, that doesnt leave much time to record or fine tuneanything, so i think the album is done and he is either shooting a video for the single, or getting some matters resloved so CD can get get rolling......just an idea,,,,,what do you guys think, why is axl all of A sudden in NYC?

I think you may be right. The "catcher in the rye" story takes place in NY, and this song could be the 1st single of CD.

But in the other hand, i can't believe that a gnr video can be shooted without any leak from anyone, nor at least any rumour about that ... It seems impossible to keep such a thing (which necessarely implicate a lot of people in) secret!

  4. Now, anyone know how far Bercy arena is from my hotel (near Notre Dam)?

Not too far. You just have to cross the Seine ( Notre Dame is on "ile (island) de la cité" that is by the way a really pretty place to stay) then take the tube (line 14) at "chatelet" station and stop at Bercy station (there's only 2 stations between the two).

  5. I love TWAT and IRS (i can't stop listening to the 1st one, which is getting better and better, like the good wine!). I've read in this forum people saying: "it doesn't sound like GNR", but YES it does!, even if it's different (hey we're in 2006!), those songs are both rich and powerful: and that is the GNR touch. Axl makes music like Nietzsche did philosophy: with a hammer (the only way to catch the truth and to triumph over it).

So then we can discuss here again and again about the arrangements, the hip hop beats or indus sounding etc.... but to me these are details (even if i know that's probably on such "details" that Axl worked all this time, but honestly, these songs are good above all cuz they are powerful and true, as every good guns n'roses song indeed. No matter of the style (indus, rock, hip hop, blablabla..): Axl's talent has always been to convince a very large range of people with a not-so popular style of music. I personnally didn't like heavy metal before hearing AFD but you know there is something with this band that catches you who(where)ever you are or whatever you like, and... that won't let you leave so easily then! Look, i'm 28 now and still posting on a gnr forum like a teenager!

All of that to say: thank you very much, Mr Rose, for this very promising new album.
