first show back with AC/DC...no voice cracks, not out of sync. Sang his ass off. He had one mistake the whole night on IYWB
He rehearsed like a maniac for those shows. It's well documented. His voice was well trained by the beginning of that tour. He obviously doesn't prepare as much before the gnr shows. Let's see how he sounds by the Argentina concert.

He always sounds weak in the first show of a new leg. His voice needs a few shows to warm up. Check the videos of all this "first shows" and you'll see what I'm talking about. Out of the three times I saw them during this tour, Lima-Peru was the weakest, vocals wise. The Miami show was mind blowing. It was like listening to two different singers. He's far from done. He just needs discipline and training, in order not to disappoint after a few weeks of not singing.

Ok guys, here we go. I was there last night and I must say, it was beyond amazing. I saw them in Orlando and Lima, Peru last year, and this show was in a whole different category. The whole band was on fire!! Slash was running around like if it was 1992 again. So was Axl. Axl vocals were insanely powerful, and raspy. The crowd was great. At least, 70% were from Latin America, which makes them loud, engaged and beyond enthusiastic. Guns N' Roses loves that. I could see the band getting pumped every time they looked up at the crowd's faces. Axl would smile and make face gestures through out the whole night. Slash extended every solo and kept playing and playing during the song's endings. Frank, which I've never been a huge fan of, was hitting those drums with a crazy energy. I'm a fan now. Duff looked as if he didn't believe how great the show was going.
I'm now convinced that Axl chooses to give 110% (150% last night) whenever he wants to. But we need to remember he is a 55 y/o guy who has a really delicate instrument. His voice has made him rich and famous. He needs to protect it. During some songs he used his "more delicate" high pitch, in order to preserve his pipes. However, he went way beyond the "manufacturer's recommended rpm's" during songs like jungle, ycbm, LALD, etc. His ability to sing at that level at his age, shows how well he has been taking care of his instrument. His not abusing his vocals all the time, is the reason why we can still enjoy the greatest rock band in the world in 2017. Instead of complaining about it, we should be thankful Axl is a smart guy who has known how to keep this rare talent alive for so many years.
Persicope, set list rant:
I got into Gn'R and as 12 year old back in the nineties. I fell in love with that band, as they were breaking up. I cried when I heard Kurt Loader reading Axl's press release about Slash being out in 1996. I became a musician because of them. I followed every step of their careers, dreaming that they would one day put their crap aside and get back together. I waited 23 fucking years for this. I became and adult and a dad and they still didn't get back together. So it's logical that I went nuts when it finally happened. I saw most of the first leg of the American tour live on periscope. I also over analyzed every detail. I knew if they were gonna do don't cry or patience during the encore, beforehand. When I saw them in Orlando, there was no surprise effect. The same in Lima. I flew down to South America just for that show, by the way. During the last months before the Miami show, I decided not to watch any periscope or even read much about them. And what a favor I did to myself. I felt like a kid whenever they started each song. Not knowing what comes after makes it special. It also helps that last night they played a bunch of stuff they didn't do in the shows I went to. I used to love her and Yesterdays were a gift. My advice is for you guys not to follow the set lists or live videos as much, if you're gonna see them anytime soon. It dramatically improves your own experience. And, by the way, every major live act keeps the same core set list during every show. It makes no sense for us to complain about it.
What else? They are still the greatest rock n' roll band in the world!!!! I thought I was done after this show. But I was wrong. I will see them again. Rock n roll is not dead. Guns N' Roses are rock n roll!

Buenos Aires!!!!! Gooooood fucking night! Yeeeeahhhh!!!!!
-
Well, it seems like cell phone networks in Buenos Aires are crap. I had the same problem in Lima, last week. They just don't have enough towers for he amount of people gathering at the same time in a relatively small area. It's gonna be a rough night...

They tricked us with the LA litho because Izzy was a skater. We got Steven instead. If I'm not mistaking, Steven was a surfer. Are they trying to trick us again by giving us a Steven clue, but giving us Izzy instead? Thoughts.

When is The Cult starting?

For Slash's birthday, they should open the show with Nightrain. Anybody remembers his obsession with opening with that song?

I know it's only 5 minutes so far, but they're late!! Finally!!! The real Guns n' Roses are back!!!!!

Fede sent a link right before I clicked reply!!

Periscope, anyone?

Guys, we are being played. None of this is really happening! It's all fake!!! The government is trying to distract us again. All of the people going to the shows are "crisis actors", yes the 50,000 of them. They're all watching old videos on the big screens and those pictures are photoshopped. The reunion is not really happening. Use your instincts. This can't be real!!!!!

Please remember that the screens have +- 1 sec delay from the live show. So you hear the voice before Axl starts singing on the screen.
Sound travels slower than light. We can se his singing on the screen before we hear it, depending on how far away from the stage you are. In a big stadium, the natural delay can be very impacting.

Unfortunately, there is no third party when it comes to Axl. He is all the parties in GNR lol
The only time Axl will be forced to put his ego aside ,and do what he is told, is when he joins AC/DC. This is one of the reasons I am happy about his involvement with AC. It is about time Axl learned to listen.
Angus young is exactly the third party I was thinking about. Let's hope for the Ac/Dc thing to be a positive influence on him.

I've been noticing Slash's tempo problems for a few years now. He has been flying through the PC intro. He's naturally a really nervous person. Back in day he used to be on dope during every show. That slowed him down and made him play slower and more relaxed. The sad truth is that his being sober has a negative influence in his playing and tempo sense. They have to be telling Frank to push the songs. Don't get me wrong, I don't like Frank's playing. He's too busy and gets in the middle of the vocals and guitar solos. But, I don't think the tempo is solely his fault.
He's not fully innocent either. There's a difference between playing fast and rushing the hits. He sounds anxious and nervous. He's hitting ahead of time and struggling to keep a steady tempo without speeding up the songs.
A third party, they trust and respect, needs to sit down with them and make them understand something is wrong. They are all pushing too much. The adrenaline, nerves and pressure of the situation is playing against them.
Now, I rather see a rushed GnR than no GnR at all. I've been waiting for this moment since I was 13 years old. I get goose bumps every time I see those two in stage together. I'm not gonna let some tempo problems spoil the moment. But it still needs to be addressed.
P.s. Before anyone starts bashing me, I'm a professional musician who has been earning a living playing live for more than 20 years. If there's something I know is that when playing live, even though the drummer is the most capable of affecting the speed, the tempo is every band member's responsibility.

I don't usually post here, I rather just just read all the nonsense around and laugh my ass off, but this just went out of proportion. GUNS N' ROSES was succesfull due to the contribution of all of his members!!!, They all have the right to do whatever the fuck they want with "their own" music. AXL's attitude just shows how twisted his mind is. He wouldn't be here without SLASH's contributions, as SLASH wound't be here without AXL's. Now MR. ROSE wants to erase SLASH from any association with G n'R. Well, I got news for you AX, Slash is Guns n' Roses!! He will always be known as GN'R's guitar player, no matter how much effort you put against it. We, the people, see it that way. There's nothing you can do to change that. AXL is an amazing "performer" but he appears to be a sad human being If this wasn't your call Ax, if it was your stupid lawyers creating this nonsene, you have the right to speak up and let the world know that you are not just a jealous freak full of hate and envy. Now, if this was you, then i turn my back to you, as many of your former fans have throughout this years. I will not buy any of your records, I will not attend to any of your shows, I will not support any of your adventures and I will no longer expect a "Guns n' Reunion" since I don't think you deserve to enjoy the succes that "the rest of the guys" would give you. Musicians are not only ICONS, they are normal people as well, and i would never keep contributing to give success to a person like you, no matter how well you can sing or how "cool" your songs are. AXL, This whole adventure wansn't about you!!! it was about ALL OF YOU making it happen. Welcome to the jungle's intro, main Riff and solo are a huge part of what made that song relevant to the world, of course, your lyrics and singing were amazing, but SLASH's part made YOU shine, and without it i dont think we would be talking about this in 2010. Isn't that reason you took almost 20 years trying to find the right replacement? (i don't think you found it either). I'm sorry man, but i'm just speaking for all those silent voices that don't have the balls to say what they think or maybe just don't care anymore. And of course we'll always hear biased replies, like Gunsguy trying to convince us that this is only a "legal matter", BS! this is AXL ROSE trying to bury SLASH's legacy. AX, you just showed us your true colors. Am i wrong?? defend yourself then.

update guys: my sister is in lima, she just called me from the show, i was able to listen to the whole november rain, that song ended like 10 minutes ago, then the pink panther solo followed, the song after that one was hard to tell, it became to noisy for her cellphone, but i think it was nightrain, the show started at around 1 ET or 12 lima time, the audience was kinda bored at the beginning but once the hits started the vibe came up, so that's it so far guys, later

you guys are missing something here, guns n' roses were not a huge success only because of their music, it was way more than that, it was them!!!, it was their stage prensence, their chemistry, their on and off stage personas, their attitude, it was a whole package that no even one band got to have until today, that's what made them huge. Now this new band is not bad, axl ( i'm sure) is gonna come up with some amazing music, but there's no way he can can make the same impact, this band doesnt have what the old band had, period!!! they are not guns n' roses!!! you will listen some really good and refreshing music from new-guns but they wont make any big impact because of the lack of elements that i just mentioned, and when that happen hopefully axl will understand that he was not guns n' roses, then will see a reunion and if they put their shit together long enough we'll see a real guns n' roses album.
that's my humble opinion

Wells said. As I said on another post, he needs a few shows in order to be at a "pro" level. His voice needs to warm up. Period.
