  1. I'm watching ChiDem right now. I'm at the part where Axl stops and throws a tantrum.

I understand it's probably really annoying for people to be throwing shit, but honestly, man...you gotta live and let die (see what I did there?) when it comes to that shit. It happens to every rock n' roll band. Most of 'em trudge through and ignore it. Some even like it (cough, Iggy). It's part of the experience.

Just my two cents, but if you're going to openly pride yourself on being "THE MOST DANGEROUS ROCK BAND IN THE WORLD," then roll with the punches - if someone throws a bottle, fuck 'em. Don't ruin the show for hundreds/thousands of other people because of some stupid asshole.

So according to you, Axl shouldn't say anything?

Of course, he's going to say something about it. I hate when people throw things at the stage. Awesome Axl!! rock3 !

Good for Axl! He will not tolerate an idiot fans bullshit ever! Don't blame him at all.

  2. ????? Am I the only one that thinks Slash's "great," "admirable," "respectable" comments were nothing but pure horse shit? I think he says things like this to do nothing more than piss Axl off. After Slash pipes up with his usual "Oh yeah, Axl's great..." comments (that he KNOWS will get some bit of media attention, and thus his comments will eventually get back to Axl) to a large audience, everybody is all surprised and it's not uncommon to hear things afterward like, "Wow, see? Slash really does have respect for Axl. What a class act!" and "See! Axl really needs to move on and forgive..." However, as Axl told us himself, behind closed doors it is a MUCH different story than what everyone is used to. My guess is that to this day, the bullshit lawsuits and time consuming litigation rage on. Slash is probably responsible for Axl having to jump through many hoops to be able to give the concerts that he does, sell the merch that they do, etc. etc. etc. Bottom line: Slash loves to try and piss Axl off by making himself out to be such a saint, when only the opposite is true. I'm sorry, but I see right through Slash.

You have a great point as there are always two sides to every story. None of us truly knows all of what went on back then. Slash is not a saint by any means. But I would much rather hear him praise his old bandmate as opposed to trash him. What do either really have to gain by trashing one another? The media and fans listen to it and take their respective sides, formulate opinions and so on. I think Slash misses Guns. He should. It's what put him on the map.

  3. Here's the thing. I saw Bret Hart stand in the exact same ring with Vince McMahon. If that can happen, I truly believe anything...any feud...can be shoved under the rug when enough money is placed on the the table.

Listen, regardless of the past, Slash knows the talent Axl has as well as Axl knows the talent Slash has. Slash realizes that much of what makes Axl great comes from his extraordinary personality. It is a shame that the old feud cannot be forgotten. I sense that Slash would love to work with Axl again. It would be fucking great. We all know that. Axl is and will most likely always be against it. But the reality of it is it has been 14 years since Slash left the band. Both have moved on and are trying to leave their marks on the music scene the best they can despite knowing that together they could rule the rock n roll world! If Axl disbanded the current line up and reached out to the "Old Guns," it would be off the charts the reception they would receive. It's really all up to Axl in my opinion and as he seems to relay it, he appears quite happy and satisfied with what he has going on with his current line up. Axl has done remarkably well without Slash, but at the end of the day, his prescence is sorely missed by us fans no matter how much time goes by.

  4. i know what you mean. It might just be something about the solo hes not good at. For instance some solos you have to use different techniques to play so maybe theres a technique to the solo that finck can't play. Or maybe he changes the solo to make it sound like that some guitarists actually make mistakes to add to the solo wierd but hey. Anyway finck fucking rules rock3

I have listened to his solo a number of times on NR, and always come away feeling like it is somewhat "screwed up." Honestly, if he would just play it as close to what Slash did, there probably would not be an issue here. He plays Sweet Child very well, especially at the end. In fact, he covers nearly every solo from the original tunes quite well. Night Train, Mr. Brownstone, Live and Let Die, all sound great. rock2 Axl obviously doesn't see a problem with him playing it, so I guess there is not much that can be said other than giving an objective opinion.

  5. Civil War!!!!!

All these mentioned are cool. I have one I would like to hear I did not see listed...Reckless Life. I love the raw energy of his vocals on it. That along with Estranged would be cool to hear again. Ditto for Don't Cry and Dead Horse.

  6. do u KNOW New York? there aint a party town like it, it'll fuck u up just as bad, possibly worse than L.A, in L.A. in the right place around the right people u can recharge ur batteries, new york MORE fucked up! notoriously so. all stories of rock stars in new york have them leaving their for L.A. cuz it'll be better for them. granted, L.A. has its fair share of places to get fucked up in but it dont hold a candle to NY in that respect.
I've been too NY a lot.If what you said is true about NY.Why the fuck does Axl same happy there. He must be.He's been there since Feb.

its only May u know. its been three months. plus he's a lot older n smarter guy now. i was assuming u meant LA fucked him up as in all in all, from since he's been there n u meant it mighta been better if he'd been in New York all that time, he's not really exposed to the same element as an older guy that he was as a younger, relatively more naive dude.

    ISNT MUCH HISTORY??? OHMISWEET LORD!!!!!!!

    New York Dolls

    Ramones

    Patti Smith

    Johnny Thunders

    Richard Hell

    Billy Idol

    Maxs Kansas City

    Radio City Music Hall

just about all the great jazz musicians EVER!!!

    the velvet underground

im sooooo amazed u said that, they're just not occuring to me right now im so shell-shocked LOL shit, i think im having a seizure :)

NYC is THE place. Hip Hop was born and flourished there, NY has less history? dude, it has a shitload more than L.A. musically speaking by FAR!!

    And what about fucking KISS??

Mayble that person doesnt like KISS.

ur right, i dont, but that doesnt mean they didnt deserve mention, like i said, they werent occuring to me at the time, sorry LOL

Great thoughts Kaneda. You are definitely on to something there. Axl may be wise to make his home in NY.

  7. Before anyone jugde steven adler: look at the ritz show 88. That man is greeeeat"

WAS great my friend. You can't live your life today based on past acomplishments. Physically he is not capable of being the hard core drummer he was in 1988. That is not a knock on him. That is a fact. Still good? Yeah, why not?

  8. From what I've heard, none of the material is truly great. I really like "Chinese Democracy", and it sounded great at the Hammerstein show on the 14th (I think I was the only one singing along to it :rofl-lol: ). Still, there are supposedly three discs worth of music and we've heard what, 6 or 7 leaks?

It all depends on whether or not Axl is holding back the really great material. If what I've heard so far is the best of the album, then no, I don't think it will be well received. It would probably end up a less successful (and good) version of UYI.

As long as C.D. has a few hits on it, it will be considered a success. Personally, I can hear "The Blues" on the radio right now. I believe "Better" has a shot at a hit as well. We will just have to wait and see. Predictions are merely that. I do believe though, Axl can bring rock back to the top again. Only time will tell. None of us have heard all the recorded material yet. There is quite potentially music that will blow our minds!

  9. i never fuckin learn!

Nightrain! I'm on the nightrain, I'm on the nightrain... ready to crash and burrrrrrrrnn!!

    i like your style leigh!

When the shit hit the fan

It was all I could stand

Yeah, well I'm a frequent flyer

    Axl is such a BITCH!

saids the nerd behind the computer!

i'm in such a shit mood!

i'm gonna go cause some trouble! i never fuckin learn!

I think Axl was a little shocked at how Tommy H. reacted. Here's this drunk ass guy he doesn't know acting like a fool and trying to go heels with Axl over a drink. Total bullshit. Axl knew if he wanted to kick his ass he could have done so. But to what benefit? Going to jail for the night would not help Axl. It would bring him bad publicity. He knows he does not want that. It's not worth it. Axl got the best of him by being wise and letting T.H.'s own security haul him out screaming like a virgin. Good. I hope he realizes what an ass he made of himself. Now, if Axl catches him in a dark alley sometime, the gloves will be off!

Whos ass has Axl ever kicked??

    yours in a minute,

i agree rage, no point in fighting this guy, sometimes when you fight....even if you win the fight.......you lose !

Thanks Aussie and you too Madison. Some people just don't get it. There is alot to be said about using common sense and thinking before reacting. Axl did just that. What the hell does it matter whose ass Axl has kicked or not? He is not freaking Rambo! He is a kick ass singer. He can hire people to fight for him! He did the right thing.

i like this newbie! rambo was a machine! :xmasssanta:

Aussie my friend, I have been a "lurker" here for a long time. I finally decided it is time to post and share my own views with a mature perspective. I appreciate the props.

  11. can someone explain to me what a fretless guitar is? :)

Yeah. It has no frets on it dude! You know, the little bars that go across ever inch of the guitar neck that allow you to pick out chords and notes. Bumblefoot has those memorized as most pro guitarists do.

  13. Cool interview, but does anyone else notice that Axl has lost his voice here? At various parts you can hear it really croaking...

He said that when he lost his voice. After working with the coach, he was able to sing, but he still sounded messed up when he talked normally.

Axl has not lost his voice. Damn. People look too deep into things. He may be a little strained from the last few nights but come on, look at how he sings? He sounds awesome and is finally back!!! rock3

By the way. Call it fate, but thank God Baz was able to hook him up with his vocal coach. That was meant to happen. I am sure Axl learned alot from it and will use the advice in the future should trouble creep up again.

  14. i doubt many people care if adler is involved in the reunion as he is a washed up junkie. i doubt he could really play straight so he'd throw the whole thing off. not that i really want matt for a reunion either though...

There is no way Adler could ever make it in the original band again. Very sad. He has good intentions, but years of drug abuse and a stroke have all but ruined him. :(
