Does anyone have any good techniques to help make finger picking easier? I'm finding it really difficult

just play and it will come. Stairway to haven is great for bigining. you can use also your fingers amoung the pick like Zakk Wylde, that's called chicken picking. Or simply go to google and search for "finger picking guitar lessons".
