  1. Im in the early stages of a band. When I say early I mean like just born. I have all the band members BUT we dont have any instruments or experience, we will probably suck but soon wen we all have jobs where gonna get our stuff and then have lessons etc.

We have already got a few songs written and a few covers in mind. Will be a while until we start up but I wanna know if anybody has tried or is trying to get a record deal.

How do you do it? I mean sending on demo's is obvious but is that it? Please dont reply saying "Just get your instrument first and learn how to play it" because I already know that FFS

I am new to the scene so if anybody knows a good way to try and getta record deal OR knows some websites that give good advice and set up local Gigs and stuff then posting them here would be appreciated.

If we make it I'll post MP3's here.

  2. The Wall is my favorite musical work of all time. Don't tear it apart. don't ask for best tracks. Think of it as one long track. You need to experience it in its entirety, perhaps a couple times. It's a journey.

:) Agree totally with that statement.

  3. people think Axl is better than these people... hahaha...

not one good lyric on AFD. Maybe three songs worth a mention on the UYI's. nothing worth mention on Lies.

Yet Axl is still better than the man who wrote genius concept albums such as The Wall, Animals, and The Pros and Cons of Hitch-hiking

A tad unfair on Axl IMO. I think you have some valid points but I do think that Chinese Democracy or at least a second album, assuming that will happen, will see Axl write better lyrics.

I think the songs rumoured to be on Chinese Democracy have more emotion within the lyrics than in previous songs. Hopefully I am right and GNR can be a sucess...again :D

But yer, Roger Waters rock3 B)

  4. The Darkness suck. I liked "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" when it first came out but after a while it really annoys. They were given so much praise and loved here in the UK but they seem to have fizzled away.

Perhaps their second album is gonna be make or break. I think break is going to be the most likely.

Have you got the album? I agree I believe is annoying but there are some cool songs on the album. AC/DC sort of stuff although obviously not as good

My friend owns the album, I have listenend to it all the way through and I did not like it. I may think it is decent if I listen to it over and over but I would never sing theyre praises.

  6. Gotta go for Roger Waters. I agree with most who posted though. Lennon and Dylan are great as well but I heard more of Roger's work so I lean more towards him.

Axl Rose is a great writer but not the greatest.
