Not all are sad, some are more agrressive like Silkworms, OMG, Chinese D - but they are still hertfelt. There arent that many songs on AFD that are agrresive. Some are fast but the lyrics are emo. Emotional that is. GNR is emotional music.
thats not true

axls gonna release the CD and the next day they'll find kurt cobain in a hole and realize he's still alive and he has 100 CDs worth of songs (all up to SLTS par) and he releases all of it and axl gets shunned and he kills himself.
-
madagascar is amazing and if it isn't on axls new CD i will hunt that motherfucker down!
maddy > IRS
madagascar is an amazing song though seriously, im listening to it right now.

irs?
the song I.R.S by Guns N' Roses....
a band famous for songs like Sweet Child O' Mine and Welcome to the Jungle, both were included on the magnificent record Appetite for Destruction.

i had the thought that we wouldnt hear it till he died...then last month he said that we will hear music THIS YEAR...that's the kind of update you're talking about. you're just inpatient, its only been a month. he said 26/32 songs are done, he'll most likely finish all 32 before he heads out on the road.
-
i showed my mom better, twat, and irs. she liked better, thought it was catchy and a good direction for axl. she didn't like IRS (i dont like IRS too much, its a good b-side but hopefully not album worthy compared to others axl has written - his voice isnt strong in it). but she thought TWAT was a strong track, and that itd grow on people on a second listen, she likes buckets solo at the end a lot. i have to agree with her too. she doesn't even like gnr, so shes hard on axl (she only likes patience, dust n bones, dont cry, and the garden).
-
yes, axl decided to leave one of his three favorite songs (better) off of the cd....
-
yeah, 2 and 1/2 unmastered songs leaking are one thing, 16 tracks is another. i'd feel very bad for axl. hopefully the CD can be released soon so not everyone hears it before the release date.

like i've said to my friends:
Axl is the only man who can go to a strip club in vegas, or to a car dealership, and get in the fucking news and have everyone panic and say how it's a sign. everything the man does everyone wants to know about. the world still needs axl. all the other rock bands around (stones, aerosmith) are still great but not breaking any new grounds. Axl is the last remaining rockstar who can still change music before his time is up. This CD will really be a breakthrough for music, and hopefully lead to a much better rock scene here in the US, and other parts of the world. I'm counting on Axl, and I know he won't let me down...i mean, the man fucking wore tiny shorts and a charlie manson shirt and still fucking rocked! hahah

like i've been saying in other threads...
fuck you axl!
....you're just too damn good!
-
well i'm really open to all genres of music, and being young (16) i am exposed to a lot of shitty music. i mainly only listen to older stuff, 60's rock and roll all the way up to 90's grunge. i have to say, axl's new stuff does sound really unique...you can see other influences, but does the new stuff sound like any band you can really put your finger on? after listening to each of the songs a full time through, and a second time, they just get pretty fucking amazing. and i think when we all have a hard copy of the new cd in our hands, and listen to it all the way through, it'll be even more amazing. i, for one, am looking forward to this cd more than any other cd i've been excited for. songs like "silkworms" made me skeptical, hearing shitty bootlegs from the tour, but songs like "madagascar" and "the blues" kept my faith in axl. these leaks have not only boosted my faith in him, but i'm just fucking excited now!

this was such a good sign, a song leaks and radio stations eat it up. my friend in new hartford, connecticut said he heard IRS on a local rock station after school.
-
yeah, thank god that ended quickly. hair metal sucks. hollywood rose was way too hairy in my opinion

link to the site?

if CD was released and VH released another CD i'd go to a show definately. i'm not a vh fan, haven't heard enough to be one, but it'd be much better than axl touring with some shitty post-hardcore or emo band. i don't want a gnr reunion yet either, i think chinese democracy should come out and axl does his thing, slash, duff, & matt do their thing with VR, and eventually they should reunite. steve adler can drum, then when he goes for his heroin break matt can step in, then steve can complain about how they're mean to him and go eat spaghetti.

my friend who is a very big gnr fan also was listening to a station here in MA and he said under the dj talking they had the intro to CD playing. i thought he was shitting me but he seemed 100% sure it was. strange.
It's a sign!
yeah i still don't know what to think of it, i didn't hear it so i won't think anything of it. that's why i didn't make a thread over it. so you can't bash me.

i do like the raw sound to some appetite songs. like out ta get me sounds great how it is. rocket queen...mixed to be very boring imo. great song, amazing live (live era rocket queen = one of my favorite gnr tracks) but something about the appetite version doesnt make me too happy .
songs like wttj and my michelle sounded great too though. im undecided on mr brownstone, it sounds very good and very poor at the same time, but once again one of my favorite gnr tracks.
