  1. I just saw this:

    http://www.antimusic.com/news/07/oct/03GNR...lease_Set.shtml

    GNR CD Release Set

    10/03/07

    .

(antiMusic) Could it be? After many false starts and rumored release dates it does look like it is finally going to happen. That's right the new Guns N' Roses album "Chinese Democracy" has a release date. At least in the UK which usually sees releases the day before the US does. If your valentine is a GNR fan then you'll have the perfect gift next year. So you gotta have just a little more patience.

An astute reader informed us today that Amazon's UK store is now listing the release date for Chinese Democracy as Tuesday February 12, 2008. (which we confirmed) UK releases usually come out on Monday so this may be an exception or a typo but two other leading UK retailers list a February 11th release date. At press time the US Amazon site does not list the album. The UK site lists Geffen/Universal as the label. So news of Axl's split with the label might not be entirely true but obviously the label would like to recoup the millions they have sunk into the effort. Early mixes of few tracks leaked last year and were meet with rave reviews by the true believers and many expected an imminent release of the album when Axl announced a world tour late last year where he previewed some tracks from the CD. Then a management shuffle came and Axl issued a statement saying the release was coming soon.

Now that you are jumping up and down in celebration we have to tell that this isn't the first time a UK based retailer has published a release date for "Chinese Democracy". In February, HMV's website excited GNR fans when they listed a September 2007 release date. Which will all know did not come to pass. A check of their site today shows a release date of February 11, 2008 which falls in line with the Monday release for UK releases. However, to add more fuel to the fire that this is legit, Virgin Megastore's UK site also lists a 2/11/08 release date. So with three leading retailers listing a release that week we may finally, at last see "Chinese Democracy" come to pass in February.

That's awesoem man, thanks for posting it. Hopefully this is fully legit!! :xmassrudolph:

  2. Nightrain has by far the best guitar driven outro of their songs. The way it fades out in the middle of that great solo, priceless!

People sayin Rocket Queen and Coma have to be on about Axl's performance, which would be right, as they are some of his best moments, but, the guitar parts in the outros of those 2 tracks aren't that memorable!!

  3. Your first cncert is it bitch?

If people weren`t jumping and singing their asses off, Axl wouldn`t be long telling them hom much they suck! If they sat there in silence for more than 2 or 3 songs, Axl would be outta there!!

It`s up to the audience to create an atmosphere of chaos, every rock band thrives on that shit!!

  4. the logo is OK. but its not better than the original

^Exactly, it looks cool, but, not a patch on the original, the orignal logo is an Icon, in the true meaning of the word!!

P.s @Spoon, he`s the fuckin spit outta Adrien Brody in that pic, nice spot!!

  5. anyone noticed the lack of solos(a really good one like in estranged or scom) in the new leaks?

jus wonderin how these songs wudve sounded with slash playin the lead.

    better's solos....

    twat.....

(and irs has some pretty decent ones)

well can u compare them to sutff like scom ,estranged nr and pc?

there's no build-up to the solo in the new songs. They just kinda happen out of nowhere...

That`s because Slash had the invaluable skill of making a solo an enhancement of the song, not just some glorified guitar wizardry. Slash`s solos always, repeat always suit the song and never seem forced or self-indulgent. Not a lot of people have that skill, it comes with his bluesy style, the bending in the guitar riffs evokes emotion, sometimes sounds like the guitar is singings it`s own chorus. In the new leaked songs they`ve tried to duplicate Slash`s style (Which is why IMO Buckethead left), the Slash style guitar riffs in TWAT and the brilliant outro, are awesome, but, bordering on plagiarism they`re so Slashesque. But, i love the new songs, I think TWAT, BETTER & IRS are kick-ass, as were the songs they played live in 2002. The new GNR just can`t make the guitar solos fit like a glove with the songs, like the old GNR could.

  6. Right now this thread is giving me goosebumps, I agree with everything.

Unfortunately i also have never had the previlege of the live experience (Until June 9th rock3), but, have seen countless videos and listened to loads of boots. I love Axl Rants leading into "Out Ta Get Me", "Double Talkin Jive" or "Live and let die", they`re usually sine-tinglers for me, also the "Jungle" intor and the "LALD" screams.

On the albums, the solo at the end of "Nightrain", the outro to "Rocket Queen", the really high part "If you need shoouuoooolder", "The killer riffs (SCOM, November Rain & Estranged) and the outro to "Coma", Awesome.

Those are mine anyway, cool topic!! rock3

  7. Axl also said before that Nine Inch Nails probably saved his life at some stage, he`s a huge fan of them. I don`t think these are disrespectful hints at GNR, why would he do that if Axl respects him, unless he`s pissed off about Robin leaving, i`d doubt it though!

  8. An older picture, but, has gone unnoticed. Does nobody see the GNR subliminal here. The painting on the wall of the roses, surely could be referring to Guns N Roses. Slash & Duff are no longer part of the group, meaning The guns are gone, just Roses now. Might not even be that deep, just another pic with Roses in it.

    Your thoughts?

  10. Dylan = Possibly the greatest lyricist of all time. But his voice is pretty bad and his songwriting skill isn't up to his lyric-writing skill

Axl has a better voice but in terms of lyrics, he's nothing on Dylan.

    I'll go with Bob

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I totally agree except i`m just slightly swayed to Axl on this. People are leavin out a few things, Charisma, performance and they count for a lot. Axl has those in spades.

I voted for axl by accident. Just listen to hurricane by Dylan and youll see why hes the better song writer. That song gives me chills.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

^^ Gives me shivers up my spine, one of my all time favourites. The last third of Coma beats it though for Emotion.

  11. I heard some of his songs about 12 - 13 years ago and never heard of him again, until i got limewire. I didn`t know his name, i could only remember a few of the song titles : "Santa claus you cunt" and "Mick me mate the masta farter". Those two are excellent, don`t think you named the last one!!
