I heard that Gilby only had a contract to play for the remainder of the UYI tour. Apparently there was some friction towards the end of the tour. Gilby broke his wrist and Izzy came back for a few shows. Gilby showed up for some shows at Milton Keynes and did some backing vocals, but he didn't look happy. After the tour there were a few meetings regarding the band's 'future' and it turned out that Gilby was surplus to requirements.

This may be true. It may not. I do not know. It's just put together from articles I have read and from people I have spoken to. Maybe Axl will tell us one day. And maybe he won't. ??? 8)

When Axl was growing up he had a strict Catholic upbringing. He even sang with his brother and sister in church as part of 'The Bailey Trio', singing gospel songs from the 70's a little bit more rocked out than they were intended. Axl said all this in an MTV rockumentary that got shown around the time the UYI albums were released ELEVEN YEARS AGO.

I've got the first four Izzy albums, and all of them have got some really strong songs on them. Personally, I prefer 117 degrees. I haven't got his latest because I refuse to pay 50 quid to import it from Japan.

I've got the first Gilby album and heard the others. Stick with the first one, the rest are very weak and I personally wouldn't waste my money on them. The first Gilby album may actually be the strongest first album by a former member of GN'R.  8)

Chinese Democracy will come out and that will make the wait worthwhile. 8)
