I like that cover.

I haven't been that happy since before my boyfriend died like year and half ago
wtf?
-
I'm pretty much giving up on them.

I don't see how AFD was that influential. It was a great album, but what has it really done to the world of music?
I see your point, but I don't see how greatest hits albums can be influential, either. It seems their list is a bit contradictory.
-
No Floyd is even worse than no AFD. I've seen some pretty shitty lists, but this one takes the cake.
-
People will buy the album if the music is good. The reason many people on this forum don't accept the current line up as GNR is BECAUSE they are hard core GNR fans. The general public won't give a shit.
-
I've never been a big fan of The Blues, but that performance showed me the potential that song has.

When I see the new Axl it seems like he isn't the same person. I still think he has a good stage presence, although a lot of his dance moves are really cheesy. If he got off his ass and did some cardio be wouldn't need the oxygen tank. I don't blame his age as much as I blame him being totally deconditioned.

It's alright
in 2006
Didn't Axl add a verse to it?

That's a pretty good idea.

what the fuck??????
Better to be used in a official TV comercial
Better = first single
Don't get so confident yet.
Compare these reactions with those of, say, "The Blues" (not that I'm saying it should be a first single - a rocker must come first - but still...). Remember these are people who seem sympathetic to GN'R:

It took over ten years to create that?? LMAO!!!I just watched the ad. The song is... decent... I suppose. But it doesn't ROCK!10 Years? .... for that?"
(sigh)
10 Fucking years.... .... ...of waiting for this shitty ass pop song!!! Fuck you Axl Rose, I hope Chinese democracy is the biggest fucking music flop ever!!! Trust me, you can bet I won't be wasting my money on this shit, fuck, I'm so pissed.Slash>Axl
Turd>Axl
It .... sucks.get over it.
(This one expresses my sentiments the best:)
You KNOW WHAT SUCKS............... .... That from listening to all the released/leaked tracks, the songs aren't that bad. In fact most of it has sounded pretty damn good. Basically what you'd expect from the real GnR. Better I think is one of the weakest songs released/leaked.I liked this comment-
"GnR can poop in a box and sell a million."
-
I.R.S is lacking in the lyrics departement.
I agree, I find the lyrics to be kind of corny. Other than that I think it's a great song.
-
"Down on the Farm" would have been a better choice for that ad.
I agree that this is the beginning of some promotion.

Everyone has different opinions, and they are entitled to it, and to be honest, a lot of that list makes sense. So you have to understand that just coz you think that AFD should be top, Nevermind is overrated and that Radiohead are crap, someone else will think that otherwise. I love Oasis, but you might hate them. personally, I don't like some of Zeppelin, Hendrix and The Beatles, but you might love them. This is a forum, where debates and discussions take place. So, a discussion like this si stupid coz everyone thinks different.
That's all implied. Your post is kind of pointless.
You are kind of pointless, my friend.
Good one.

I'll never understand the fascination with Nirvana. I could never connect with their music because I didn't know what they were singing about most of the time. I thought Ten was a much better album than Nevermind. IMO Kurt Cobain's death is the reason the are still so popular.

......or any of the rest of the midwest for that matter. They haven't announced any tour dates there, I'm hoping they do.

Breakdown
Breakdown was the first song that came to mind when I read the thread title. As far as being underrated in the mainstream, I would say Estranged.
-
I was wondering why I got that email. I removed myself from the list.

Robin Finck
in 2006
The only real problem I have with him is the SCOM solo, other than that I have no issues. I do like BBF better though.

I've been listening to Axl's voice with a critical ear ever since he has started touring again, and I have to say I was really surprised at how good he sounded at this show. He had his rasp going more than in any show I have heard since the Illusions tour, which is easily validated by his final, "knock knock knockin on heaven's door." He does look like he put on a few pounds, but I'd rather have a 10-15lb (if that) overweight Axl who can sing, than a ripped Axl who can't.
This OC register reviewer obviously made up his mind about the band before he even saw them.
-
the average person doesnt want to pay $75 to see a Axl Rose cover band.....
LOL
Get over it already.
Go to a VR show and stfu.

When you get through it all, IMO, Axl is the least replaceable member of GNR. Had every member of the band instead decided to go form their own project from the beginning, and there never was a GNR, I believe Axl would have been the most successful. I agree that they all complimented each other and came together for a great sound, but I will think Axl was always the force behind the band.
Radiohead.

I keep hearing this but it doesn't make sense to me. Axl can probably pull 15 million from somewhere pretty easily. With the exception of a few Ferrari's and the occasional helicopter ride and 15-20k weekend binge, I don't really see what he could be blowing his money on.
Does anyone know what the band earned on the UYI tour?
