  1. speaking of bi-polar...

i was wondering why you take so much time to write about Axl and examine his psyche in so much detail when you apparently hate the dude? you wont find me on a Britney Spears board - usually when you dont like someone, and you have the option to block that person out of your life (and god knows Axl is easy to block out) you just ignore them

  2. I agree with you MetaSoul, but none of these few songs (even the "old" ones - Madagascar, Blues, CD ) have the chords like Sweet Child, Don´t Cry, Paradise City, Nightrain... you know? people will get familiar, just it with these few leaked songs IMO

i highly doubt that even amongst the younger generations there are people who dont know the old guns classics. i wasnt there when the rolling stones were hot in the 60's and even before getting seriously into them, i already knew songs like satisfaction or brown sugar. this is the same thing. GNR is classic, they dont need anything to keep attracting kids who werent even born when AFD was released.

i think it's good marketing to give us the leaks, any press and hype are good

  3. Guns N' Roses... American band right? That is their main market. It is America that makes or breaks this new album. I think they are using Europe as a test/warmup before hitting it big in the US.

I dont agree, nor do I find that reason enough. GnR have an international appeal, and the rest of the world will have a major say whether this album makes it or not. No disrespect to America here, but it's not the only country thats important.

  4. Ach no worries they are touring and that's the main thing.

i like that too. not only will it be great to see them live again, but Axl isnt that dumb to take his guys out on the road while finishing the new album that the whole world has been waiting for over a decade. doesnt make any sense. it's as if you're prepairing lunch, it's all done in the owen, and you need to set teh table but decide to go out on a 2 hour stroll. it's already done

  5. What's with the "family-friendly" lyrics?

I really love the soft side of Axl's music, love songs etc., but what about the "FUCK YOU" songs? I'm not looking for AFD, just looking for some fuckin attitude and conviction!. I think IRS and Better would be more convincing if he used some vulgar language, some explicit lyrics.

    What do you guys think?

    V~

wait for the goddamn album you fuck! ;) just kidding!

no, I like what i heard, music isnt always about how many vulgarities you can say

  6. I'd bet my left nut that he could rerecord perfectly all of Buckets parts in less than 4 hours. I do have a problem with his super mario shredding sound at times, but that a minor issue. He'd play the stuff perfectly

  7. GN'R don't need impressive guitarists that play fast. Don't need Joe Satriani, Steve Vai or Y. Malmsteen...or Michelangelo.

GN'R need the guy with the top hat, the curly hair and the cigarette !

For me that dude with the top hat is the best guitarist since Hendrix... But I highly doubt it'll happen :(

  8. ok, wait, we have a lot of new information on the RIR 2006 site:

    1. Axl said CD is comming out in the middle of march???

    And Slash knew about that.

wha wha wahhhhhhhhhttttttttt??? AXL SAID THIS???? SHOW ME WHERE!!

thats my point... the RIR website says that Axl said this... this is the link

    http://rockinrio-lisboa.sapo.pt/artigo.htm...=644725〈=es

this is the text from the spanish version:

"En una entrevista a la revista Rolling Stone, en Enero de este año, Axl Rose afirmó que el nuevo y esperado disco de los Guns n´Roses, "Chinese Democracy", deberá salir a mediados de Marzo, siendo « un álbum muy complejo» y que puede causar alguna sorpresa a los fans."

also, the english translation is modified...

they refer to the RS interview...

but i never heard it before.

could we believe this? mid March??? Cant wait!

  9. If he wouldn't have starved the fans for information there wouldn't be such a frenzy for the downloads. If he would have done a few simple things, there would not be this panic to get all these downloads.

    1. Kept us reasonably updated on a release date

    2. Kept us reasonably updated on a Buckethead replacement

If he would have done these two things, open communication with his fans. they would not be like vultures hanging over a dying corpse waiting for fresh meat. At this point, I feel the ONLY way we are going to hear any new music from Axl is if he dies. So, I will take what I can get until he makes me feel different.

Does this make it right? No, but I will be dammed if I am going to sit and wait until he is 95 years old and kicks the bucket to get my music fix.

Call me selfish, I don't care, I just want to rock out with my cock out to some GOOD NEW MUSIC.

    That is all.

To an extent I agree. He definately needs to improve the communication between the band and the fans. Just look at Megadeth! Dave Mustaine post on the website almost every week, and joins in in a lot of topics on the bulletin board. I'm not saying he should be as nice as Dave, but he could issue an update now and then.

Another thing I agree with is that no one should feel shame for downloading these demos. He is a public person, his stuff found its way to the public, and no one has to right to blame us for taking the opportunity. I personally wont download any more stuff if I get the feeling that CD may be coming soon. However, as long as things are like this (no info, no news, no updates) I'll get whatever I can. Heck, it might be my only opportunity to hear the music.

As far as him taking the time for writing and perfecting his music is concerned, I'm all for it and wont whine, we should accept his artistic licence to take his time and do what he feels is best, it is his band. However, he should give us something in return for waiting this long, cos if it werent for the fans, there would be no need for GnR.

A little respect and info now and then is all I ask for, how hard can it be?

  10. IMO technically it is

    1) Bucket

    2) Fortus

    3) Finck

    enotionally it is

    1) Finck

    2) Buckethead

    3) Fortus

I guess Finck would be a solid all rounder. Was he originally the only new lead player, and Bucket came to replace him after he left in 99', and then returned?

  11. I dont know... Somehow it seems to me that they will be the guitarist team on CD, with BH's parts re-recorded by one of em. Or with completely new solos. It's too late (I hope it is!!!! - no more delays!) to bring in someone new. Do you think they'll be up to the challenge?

  12. Ok, let's assume GnR are not going to get a replacement for Bucket. That would mean that either Finck or Fortus would rerecord/play his stuff live. Not being very familiar with the work of the two, I'm assuming that Finck is more suited for the role, since he IS officially the lead guitarist and Fortus the rhythm. Now, having read some of the posts about Finck I got the impression that the really isn't a virtuoso, and some have said that Fortus would do a better job taking the lead.

What are your thoughts on the two?

  13. Unfortunately, I don't think anything is going to change for awhile. We may hear something for "The Davinci Code" this summer. My bet is still on 2007 for a release(what the hell, its only a little over 9 months away)!

yeah, well, in 2007 (if it's nto released by then) many people will say exactly the same thing: my bet is 2008

Well, I don't think IRS-single in March makes much sense. GNR, the whole band, had to come together and shoot a video and promo photos and stuff like that right now. Honestly, I don't see this happening so soon, given the fact that many band members have planed solo activities for the next weeks.

Ya i asked about that earlier, but got no replys. The time frame is wrong, its not plausable...

perhaps all of that is ready

sub par, do you have fucking ears? these sound like studio quality tracks tracks to me...

Defo not finished songs, there mixed very bad, the levels are off ect...

yup. that may be good for unknown bands (and Metallica), but Axl need spectacular production. Even good production wouldnt do

  16. The leaks definately arent from a official single cd, cos the sound quality (altough good for a demo) is just sub par, and Axl wouldnt allow that to happen. i more likely to belive that the managment let out those demos to prepare us for the official single and get the buzz going.

btw, irs is a good choice for a single, cos everyone knows you dont want to use your best songs right away
