  1. Slash, Duff, and Izzy listened to the last track on UYI2 and got scared the he|| away from Axl..   ;D  They didn't want to "step into his world"..  ;D  haha  j/k

I do agree with the music needing to be evolved, but think about it...  All the guys went their separate ways and Axl just happened to be the one that owned the Guns N' Roses name.  It's not Guns N' Roses anymore, it is his SOLO career.  Just like Slash, Duff, and Izzy have their solo careers.  The new band is NOT what Guns N' Roses was.  Buckethead was hired to learn how to play what Slash created.  Now don't get me wrong, Buckethead IS VERY talented.  He is one of the best I've seen play guitar.  The new songs will rate how this new band is.  When that albums comes out, we will all know.  Because THAT will be their original material.  They are still playing the old songs, because Axl owns the rights to them and it's a good way to attract a crowd and get popular again.  It's a way to ease people into the new material.  I like the new band.  I wouldn't have paid $65 a ticket and sat on the floor of an arena until 11:15 PM and then starting dodging chairs in the middle of a riot, if I didn't want to see the new band.  ;)  Chinese Democracy is going to be a kick @ss album.  But remember there is only one original man left...  just AXL.   Johnson took over for Scott in ACDC, and  numerous other bands have replaced one guy.  But..  That is not replacing 80% of your band.  The only GNR left in the band is Axl's VOCALS and his little bit of piano playing..  Even though it's named Guns N' Roses, you can't possibly think it really is.  Rock on..

  2. There is probably a lot of people still upset about the tour ending. But I know Axl and crew will be back on the road again some time maybe next year. They just need a more understanding promoter, that doesn't book so many concerts back to back so they can relax between them. I have patience!! I know I'll see them again!! It was great at the Allstate Arena. They were just fantastic! Love those guys!!! Take care Axl, Dizzy, Bucket, and the rest. Enjoy the holidays!! ;)

I was at Philly, and I couldn't believe they didn't show up..  Oh well, You're right, we'll all get to see them, especially if Chinese Democracy is as good as Axl claims it will be.  Hopefully we'll see the album this Spring.  Only been waiting 10 years!!   :-/  After it comes out, It'll climb right up the charts, and then those arena's will sell out!..   :)

"Maybe someday we'll see you, before you make us cry" -One In a Million

Slash has something up his sleeve too, watch out!!   8)

  3. Skid Row kicks @ss. "18 and Life" is one of the best rock songs ever composed..  It's a masterpiece..  Asd you have songs like "I Remember You", "Youth Gone Wild", "Quicksand Jesus"  Listen to some of them, and tell me Bach's voice isn't perfect for the project..  It's all my opinion though..   ;)   I JUST cannot wait to hear the original three '1985' guitar's rippin' and Sorum hammerin on the drums..   :)   :)   :)

"I just try to slam the drums as hard as possible..."

    -Matt Sorum

  4. I have the "Making F-ing Videos" trilogy collection.  "Don't Cry", "November Rain", "Estranged"..  In that order, they are labeled "Making F-ing videos.. Part I, Part II, and Part IV"..  Anyone know why they skipped Part III?   Is this supposed to be this way?  Or was there really a number III released?  Just wondering..

I figured someone here would know this..

    Thanks.

  5. That's cool, never knew that one!..

That's kinda like one from 'The Doors'.  In the song 'LA Woman', Jim Morrison sings...  "Mr Mojo Risin" over and over towards the end of the song..  If you rearrange the lettes you get "Jim Morrison"..

  6. Exactly..  This tour was more like "Here I am, I'm back, look we can still kick @ss, and I need a few bucks"  When that album comes out, that tour will be the REAL tour.  I bet they are working on the album, and it will probably be released in the Spring, just in time for a big summer "sell-out" tour.  Let's hope so!

  7. There is no question about that one.  Definately "Don't Cry".  They play/sing their hearts out in that song.  And those backing vocals are from another dude from Lafayette, Indiana...  Shannon Hoon of Blind Melon.  (was)

  8. True Guns N' Roses fan here.  Especially of the old band.  The new guys seem cool, but still have to prove themselves.  Buckethead rox though!  Remember Guns N' Roses only has a following today because of what it was years ago.  Slash/Duff/Izzy/Adler/Sorum/Dizzy/Gilby all get a piece of the credit.  Not just Axl..

  9. haha, how mad would Axl get if they called it just "Guns".   ;D  Nah, j/k, they will name it something cool.    8)

I really would like to see Sebastian Bach of Skid Row be on vocals.  He fits the spot better than the others.  And listen to him sing!  He's awesome!  Skid's row's songs like "18 and life", "I'll remember you", "Quicksand Jesus", etc..  Only my opinion, but I think he could really fill that position..

Anyone have a copy of that demo "Pleasin"  from the slash project, that was up for download and got pulled off the site?  I'd like to listen to that... lemme know..

  10. I think the Slash/Duff/Izzy/Matt project is going to be awesome!  It's actually going to sound like GNR!  What about a singer?  Bach?  Meeks?  I hear they have about 40 songs recorded, and are working on the vocalist.  Anyone have any more news, information, links, or opinions on it?  If so, post it in here...

  11. The guy is a phenominal song writer with an awesome voice.  He does have an attitude though.  But "Nice Boys, don't play rock n roll"  "I bet your mama said"  ??Mr. Bailey ain't a nice boy..and he never was..     ;)

I agree, he's a legend no matter what.  Heck, he was 10 years ago..

  12. The new stuff is alright.  But nothing compares to Appetite and the Illusion albums.  It looks like a war between Axl and Slash.  Axl got this whole new hired line-up, who don't get me wrong, is kick-ass.  And you have Slash getting together with the original guitarist from AFD days, and drummer Matt Sorum from '91.  I think that "what we've got here is failure to communicate.."  It's a war to see who can make it bigger, and in my opinion the old line-up will win the war.  I'd personally like to see Sebastian Bach on vocals.  That would kick so much ass!  (and I think they will show up to their concerts)   ;D  Yes, chinese democracy, when it comes out will be a big hit.  He has the 'Guns N' Roses' name going for him for publicity, and Buckethead's theme is a big catch, especially to younger fans.  But, don't even try to compare this new 'produced' music to the raw riffs and realness of the 1987 days.  "GNR was what every other band pretended to be.."   8)

  13. Yep, that will be a collecters item.

Too bad this all had to happen to the tour.  I was at the philly show, and am still dissappointed.  A lot of people really wanted to see them perform and waited such a long time.  The true fans..

    "Maybe someday we'll see you

    Before you make us cry"

I hope the slash/matt/izzy/duff project really takes off.  I hear they are looking at Sebastion Bach (skid row) for vocals..   That would be the "be all, end all" rock band!   And it would actually BE the old GNR.  And Bach can sing his heart out..

  14. Originally December 8th was supposed to be in Wilkes-Barre, PA, but was cancelled weeks ago in order to add a second Philly Date.  The two philly dates were the 6th and the 8th, both at the same sports complex.  It was supposed to set a record for "shortest distance traveled between shows", but not anymore!  Looks like Bruce Springsteen still holds that one!  Anyway, both shows are cancelled now.

You know something else, none of this really matters.  Guns N' Roses is still the best music out there.  Especially in the Slash years.  I was at the show on the 6th and was disappointed that they didn't show up.  People will be mad for a short time till they get over it.  Some may give up on GNR, but the real fans who know the power of the material, especially from 87, 88, and 91..  will never give up.
