  1. If he just before noon with the funny blonde Hulk Hogan mustache and big cowboy hat and bandana on his head to the big concert grand scratching the funeral November rain betting favorite, is ludicrous a much, much too weak a phrase. That he sees himself probably different. (PETER BRUYN)

Those reporter aren't very original. I think they copy because they all have exactly the same arguments. lol

But I agree on the Hulk Hogan mustache. I thought at a certain point he kinda looked like Yosemite Sam. B)

  2. I just remembered why I don't like the main section anymore.

Ignorance is bliss. Just don't complain and always be positive. Maybe you're right, I should give it a try

  3. Exactly, it ain't rock & roll anymore. Nowaday, every band plays on the scheduled time (or maybe a maximum of 30 minutes overtime). Axl should appreciate the fact that people are still attending these Axl Rose shows.

Please define rock n' roll. Is it like a religion? How do you measure what's rn'fn'r? :tongue2:

GnR were the meanest band in the world. Everything about them was rock & roll. How they began in LA, the way they recorded AFD, their tours, st. Louis, how they didn't give a shit about anything. For me, they defined Rock & Roll. I compare every band with that. And so I compare the new GnR with the old GnR, and I have to agree with SaulHudson88. This is not R&R anymore. It's a tribute.

But somehow it's kinda cool to see them live. rock4

  4. BUT:

    - Show some goddamn respect to the fans and don't start 105 minutes to late (22:15 instead of 20:30). Cause some people have to work or go to school the next day, and when the concert is over at 0:50 and the last train has already leaved at 23:45 you're simply screwed.

    - And get rid of that fucking solo's, we know that they are technically amazing players, but when the simply can't play with as much as feeling as Slash can (and the can't), than don't do it; they have no value.

Are you serious? I can't see how people still tend to talk about this, everyone knows they go on late. First time I saw them they went on 23:20, and finished about 02:00 at night, no trains/busses etc. But you always get home somehow. They just are like that, I'm glad if they play a great show, even if it's late

Like I said, you are one of the handfull of people who are willing to accept Axl his bullshit. For me it's bullshit. If you act like this you just don't have any respect for the fans. And there were 12.000 fans in Arnhem sunday. And 90% of them just wanted to hear the classic songs and were hoping to feel a little of the atmosphere of the 80's and 90's. Be there on time.

It's Axl and his tribute band.

  5. This ain't the 90's were GN'R were the biggest band in the world. Axl should be happy with the fact that people are still attending these shows and show some respect; you simply can't make an excuse for being almost 2hours over time. If it was an half an hour it wouldn't be a big deal, but it was two fucking hours.

I was home at 03:00 and I had to get up on 07:00 cause I had to go to school (and yes it's a 'respectable' study; Univeristy).

And you really think that is great to see 4 people having their own solo moment of 5-6 minutes? Please....

The solos are actually worth watching for the first time in years and I think they add a great deal to the show now. Apart from Bucket's solos back around 2000 the individual solos have always been shit, even Slash's Godfather Theme. Now that they are actually full instrumental pieces in their own right with the full band they're great and say what you want about Ashba, but his Ballad of Death kicks the arse of any solo any of the others have played including Slash.

I agree with you on the solos, but that's not what I came there for. And I think SaulHudson88 thinks that way too. I'm so damn jealous of the people who went to a concert between '87-'93. I want that too, you know. But that's history. Don't blame us for hoping to see and feel a little of the atmosphere of that time.. B)

  6. It was the second time we saw them, and I think that's it for now (for me). I agree with all the negative reviews. You can say that the reviews are "brutal" and "not true", but face it, it's how it is. Only a handfull of people are still thinking that Axl is God and that he can whatever the fuck he want. And maybe he can, but the charme, the roughness and everything I think/feel is GnR didn't fit with what i saw yesterday.

Don't get me wrong, I somehow liked it yesterday. But when that guitarplayer started "sweet child o' mine" people around were saying: That just doesn't fit, he shouldn't be allowed to play that intro. Sounds stupid, but I agree.

Too bad I'm one of those fans who just can't erase everything about the old days and listen with a "fresh" start to the new GnR...

But his voice was good :shades:

  7. I didn't know or listen to the music till 1993. When "paradise city' peaked the charts in the Netherlands.

As a boy of 12 I cycled along a bbq-party in my street. They played the song very loud and i thought:

"this shit sounds great, man!!". But there was no internet and i didn't know who they were.

Listened 2 days at the radio with my cassette recorder before they played it again.

............"Now, on number 3, rockin' the charts... Paradise city of GUNS N' ROSES."...............

Best moment of my life

  8. I think Axl probably rocks out to Sucker Train Blues every day. Unless he's forgotten what good rock sounds like.

The lack of hip-hop drum loops probably puts him off a bit, though.

Wait, Sucker Train Blues or Dirty Little Thing? They're the same song, so you could've been confused. Or mabye it was Yesterdays...errr...i mean...'Fall To Pieces'.

    Obviously an Axl lover....

Cut the crap guys. Talk about Guns n Roses. Don't start this useless comparing :(

  9. As long as I have been coming in here there has been a Slash vs Axl thing and it all boils down to that.

If you think Axl is Guns N Roses then VR/Slash suck.

If you think Axl was the cause of the breakup, and he is the only one not willing to reunite, then new GNR sucks.

Both can be right, both can be wrong.

    negativity is pointless

And why? just because some managers tell them what to do (lawsuits). Plus the media and forums make it much worse and intense then in real life.

They had all that great history as a band. I think, as musicians, they appreciate each other.

At personal level, i don't think they can hang out as original band, because to much has happened lately. Axl insults Slash at stage and according to media, slash does the same in interviews.

  10. I love how everyone is placing Axl's new stuff on such a higher pedastal than the VR album. You all act like he's fucking Mozart or something. The only nu-GNR song that is head and shoulder's above anything on Contraband is CITR, everything else is extremely debatable - and considering it's taken him 10+ years to crank these out, as opposed to barely 2 for VR, there's really no way to argue this.

    Totally agree!

    Uuhm CITR? :book:

  11. - So just because I genuinely think the New GNR sucks means I'm closeminded? I have seen them live and the new band just isn't that good. I look at it as more of an Axl Rose + Coverband show rather than a GNR show.

Yes, that actually makes you closeminded :) When you base that on: "I look at it as more of an Axl Rose + Coverband show rather than a GNR show."

In that comment you directed your critism at the persons in the band, and not the sound who flows out of the loudspeakers when they play. Your statement says that you miss the former members as icons, -something you can relate to. But nothing about the music. U can´t say they suck(as musicians) based on that.

You maby want them to suck.

But your WISHES, is not substance enough to base a comment like that. :)

I don't know what show you've seen, but the show in the Netherlands was a typicall GnR show.

Fireworks, great voice, real rock n roll!@

  12. All the nagging here!! You guys are childish as hell!

From 1994 till 2002 there was nothing for the fans, and since 2002 we have Velvet Revolver (proved to be succesfull, look at their sellingnumbers of contraband) and since this year there are signs of life in GnR.

What the fuck are you complaining. Two great rockbands instead of nothing.

a little more optimism would be in it's place

Slash's Snakepit, Izzy Stradlin & The JuJu Hounds, Gilby, Neurotic Outsiders,...

    Should I name more?

Nothing that can touch the quality of VR and GnR.

    You can't be serious, i hope... :o

I think Axl probably rocks out to Sucker Train Blues every day. Unless he's forgotten what good rock sounds like.

    What about Slither? rock2

  13. If you all look at the history a little (as far as you have one in the US :) ):

We used Australia for getting rid the criminals in Europe, and all the lazy people went to the US.

In fact, they were so lazy the transported the half of Africa to their country to do the work for them. And also the half of Latin America etc.

Back to Guns n Roses please <_<

  14. All the nagging here!! You guys are childish as hell!

  15. will it release in same time over the world??

if not....I'll fly to US right away

One day after release, probable in US first, it's on the internet. Download, listen and wait for world release. It might save you a lot of money

  16. Like the real chinese democrazy, this cd will not hapen any time soon

(everybody is too optimistic, i have to temper the good feelings a little :D )

  17. what's all the fuss about??

It's only a shirt. Axl is stupid and childish enough to react. People like that (this topic is growing) and do it again. Don't react next time and it will not be that fun instead of now.

Hope axl is smart enough to figure that out.

And i don't understand all the hostility towards slash on the guns n'roses forum and toward axl on the velvet revolver forums (and others). They were the best rockband in their time. Now they work seperatly in great bands. If people want to dream about a reunion, i can imagine that. The mainstream of people would like that. Drop the hostility and let them do their thing in their own band.

  18. - Solo's, the solo's between the songs were too boring and especially the solo's in November Rain were fucked up by Ron Thal, I now these solo's very well but when he played them I had really no idea at what part he was.

other than that it was absolutely fucking amazing. rock3

I think everybody thought that way. If they want to start a new thing, then don't do something Slash was best in.

I mean, c'mon! "You are beautifull" from CA as guitarsolo?

Cut that solo crap.. that's slash 's area

  19. Izzy wasn't there.

According to the people at here today Izzy was indeed there.

a few people also said, someone had a slash shirt they were waving around in the front and Axl called them a "fucking idiot" rock4

I saw that :P i thought that was quite funny :)

    "you're a fuckin idiot" hahahaha

I thought of bringing that nice banner "where the fuck is Slash"
