The charts are often more a bidding war than a ranking of genuine sales.

I didn't know this, but it's not really surprising given all the dross that gets into the top 10. How do they do this though? Surely the chart has to have some kind of integrity?

Civil War reminds me of Free Bird, with the slow introspective beginning building up into the fast-paced jam at the end. GNR's Skynyrd influences are pretty clear in that song IMO.

I listened to My Head and immediately thought 'listen to Radiohead much?' And that was before I checked your username. Not really my kind of thing at all, although they are undoubtedly a great band with some brilliant songs. I think the influence is a little too blatant, however.

Guys, take it easy - gnrbanned is a perfectly legitimate site, lots of concert videos and audio files on there. All you need to do in return is contribute to the forums. It doesn't cost a thing, just make a few dozen posts. Have a little patience, most likely you'll have got every bootleg you wanted well before Axl releases his next album. It took me a bit of a while to get access, but then I'm not in the habit of posting much. You guys have posts from this site ranging from the 100s to 1000s, you should get there in no time at all. That's providing you don't take the mickey and spam the site to oblivion.

Thanks for your advice guys, I'll take your word for it - I'm getting a new laptop soon anyway. It's not just a case of disk space though. A couple of years ago, my hard disk failed and I lost a lot of stuff, but fortunately I had a lot of it backed up. It was still a pain, though so I will probably end up downloading this and splitting it across 2 CD's as a RAR file (unless I find software that will let me split the AVI file itself into two...)

Hey guys, I have some software that enables me to convert the format of video files, but I was wondering what is the most efficient format for saving on disk space? The reason why I ask is I want to download the Argentina 93 concert, but it's 800mb, so either I split the file in two, or reduce the quality to 7/8ths of what it is right now. The file is currently as an AVI.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be very grateful.
