from another forum:
Marc another question since Beta and her family are so close to Axl has anyone tried to speak to them about getting professional help for Axl? Surely they must be aware of his nature and are concerned.
I have told Beta many times, but nothing ever gets done. She thinks it's all Slash's fault. I told her it's not about who's fault it is, it's about how to deal with it and move on
makes me sad :|
She knows if there's any reconciliation with Slash or reunion she and her family are out the door.
Seen this "theory" posted many times and it makes absolutely no sense
How would Axl doing a "reunion" or reconciling with Slash suddenly make him turn against the people who have essentially been his family for 20 years?
Not that he would neccessarily turn against them but they wouldn't have as much say. If there was a reunion, I doubt Beta would be managing it.

Axl is not a sellout
There's no money involved in playing at the HOF show moron, so how is that selling out?
Exactly, in fact don't the band actually have to pay in order to go there?

Then why is it Slash that is shooting down any chance?
Axl isn't the one that said they had no chance of playing now, is he?
That's what I thought.
The bit I'm focusing on is...
“And we’re not playing. I would imagine that they asked us to play but I know that we’re not playing.”
What does that even mean?! Who is the "us" they asked if you are ambiguous about whether or not they asked you? You know you're not playing because that was partially you're decision or did someone tell you you can't/won't play?
Am I just reading into it too much? It seems like a weird thing to say...
I think it's just weirdly/badly written...."I could be positive Steven will be there" is also odd sounding.
You know people in real conversations don't tend to carefully word every sentence to be grammatically correct?
1) He obviously means that the HOF would have asked Guns to play, but that he knows they are not going to.
2) He knows Steven would die before he'd pass this up.
Yeah, but sometimes grammar gets cleaned up by the journalist in the article.

They ARE gonna blame Axl. That's a fact.
Sad and pathetic, but true.
See below.
I'm sure that they'll still try to find a way to blame Axl though, he seems to be their favorite scapegoat for everything.Because it is his fault they aren't playing.
The whole world knows the 6 other guys would be fine playing a few songs, but Axl is the one who won't participate. He will take some flack for it, and rightfully so.

We don't know what's going on behind the scenes though. Slash may be the one to say publicly they're not going to play but who knows why that is or if someone in particular is stopping it. Could be Axl, could be Slash, could be Duff or Izzy who's said no privately and stopped it. It's disappointing they're not going to play but we can't categorically blame one person because we don't know for sure.

It probably will be online. I'm not usually interested in the HOF but I did look for it online when Metallica were inducted and, if I remember correctly, it went up pretty quickly after the actual ceremony. So, I imagine with Guns it'll be the same.

You're probably thinking of the Stones - Sympathy for the Devil. And all the sinners saints

It seems pretty simple to me. Izzy doesn't like media attention. The HoF was a big media event in the music world. Him performing with GNR is big for GNR fans but it's not going to get close to the amount of press that the HoF did. Yeah, it sucked that he wasn't at the HoF but the HoF isn't really about the fans. It's not like it's an award voted for by fans/the general public. Playing at a GNR show seems, imo, to be more for the fans than showing up at the HoF would be.
