Haha, I remember the good old days back in 02. I had another account then, but hardly posted at all, eventually forgetting what my username and password was. In 2005, I came back and got this one going and started posting on a regular basis. I haven't been posting much at all in the last year or two since CD came out, mainly because I've graduated university and spend much less time in front of a computer than I used to. I missed the whole Madison situation, but was completely shocked when I read the thread months after it happened.

We shouldn't re-open that can of worms, but I see all these people taking sides. It's such bullshit. It's a sorry sorry situation. To watch the forum go from nothing at all following the 2002 tour cancelation, to see everything get so big. Eric getting thanks on the album, Axl and others coming on the forum to talk...then blast poor Madison.

I understand how and why people had very mixed feelings about her, but that day was a sad to be a GNR fan. Sure it's "rock n' roll" and "cool" to act all bad ass, but see a man approaching 50 talk and act like an 8th grader in a school yard yelling match and then have his maids son come in and join the argument turned my stomach. I've heard people describe Axl as being "professional". I think they should just stick to calling him a great frontman. Maybe she did a lot more to piss the man off, but people failed to think about this. Madison is human, and one she had spend more than 8 years of her life building a fan site that gained huge success...only to have the lead singer of that band - a man she had envied for years and years - talk to her like that. The poor lady likely would have been crushed to the point of depression or worse. Anyone that defends this can kiss my fucking ass and grow up. There are better ways to deal with such things. Professional ways.

The happenings just prior and just after Madison's demotion were claimed to not be related to her demotion at all. Madison had been controversial before, some people offered "the straw that broke the camels back" suggestion and that was denied.

Axl wanted her gone because of the security guard/T-shirt incedent. She was demoted right after he signed on to the forum and blasted her. Coincedence? What do you think...? I would like to believe in "the straw that broke the camels back" theory and wish I could entirely.

As much as many people hate to admit, the forum isn't what it used to be without her. I'm not saying it isn't still the best GNR for on the net either, because it is and there is no debating that at all. Despite the fact that she often pissed me off to the point where I would swear out loud (while debating with her) and she sometimes did things that made me wonder if she was drunk and on drugs (let BBA back but ban Black Sabbath), this place was well kept when she was online. She wasn't perfect, but who the fuck is? Look at the man this forum is pretty much dedicated to..

Sorry to go on a rant about that whole thing, I guess a lot of it won't make any sense if you didn't know what happened during the whole ordeal, but I was really disappointed that I never had a chance to get my two sense in the day the shit hit the fan.

No offense to any other mods who may feel I've implicated them in any way shape or for in this post, that wasn't my intention at all. I'm more saddened and disappointed that the whole thing happened, not at any one in particular.

I agree on some points and others not.

Axl wasn't professional with his answer, but on the other hand I think madison wasn't a cool person. She was like a dictator and I hated how she overcontrolled everything, even to the point of banning members with years on this forum because they had a different point of view.

Going back to the subject of this thread... It was cool in some way those years of waiting. I mean... a lot of our imagination was working just to figure out how the songs were and what was really going on.

Tommy's interviews really sucked, and the most important was that thread that user "Axlknows" started with the name "This says it all". I brought it back a million of times and it was always valid ( until CD came out)

I hope we get another album "soon".

By the way, Slash new album rules.

I was just remembering when different people went to this forum a couple of years ago a we didn't have news about Chinese Democracy or the band.

Personally I have been a member of this forum since 2002 and I can tell you many fans here lived shitty times during that period.

Years wating for news, reading Tommy's statements saying "Soon is the word", entering gnfr.com and trying to understand the riddles..., watching hidden buckethead pics on NIN site and entering into Robin's site watching his fans pictures/photographs.

Shit..., so many years waiting but finally the wait was worth.

Let's hope Guns keeps moving as it has been during this year and we can see soon a new disc.

First GNR show in my life.

At last I could see the band live!!!

Now I can die in peace.

Some thoughts about the show:

1. Wating 3 hours is not nice, specially when you are in front row, many people pushing, smoking and trying to get to the front fence.

2. Axl has it. Comparing 2002 Mickey mouse shows vs 2010 shows really indicates his voice is back again. It's clear he doesn't have the same lung capacity but he sings the same way as the 90's

3. He got pissed just before KOHD because the interpreter did not show up.

4. Ashba is a small guy but he has great stage presence. It's those kind of guys that have a great chemistry with the crowd and great charisma.

5. Nice to see fortus. Only that he overacts. Sometimes too worried to appear cool to fans, cameras and videos.

6. Bumblefoot is a low profile guy but great at guitar skills and very close to people. Nice guy. He is original in his behaviour.

7. Tommy is like axl's closest band member. He looked worried when axl got pissed. Seems to be the guy that tries to repair things when they get broken.

8. Axl seems to have 0 tolerance to frustration and 0 concsiousness to his own acts . I mean how can he be pissed because an interpreter did not show up in a couple of seconds knowing that he was late to the show around 3 hours?????

9. Comparing 2001 AXL (fat) and Braided Axl with strange clothes(2002) he really looks good now.

10. Here in Chile media complained about his voice. Personally I thought he sounded great.

11. It's funny and at the same time pitiful how fans only look at Axl when he is on stage without looking a guitar player that could be closer to the crowd. I think Slash compensated this in a way.

Bottom line, a band with virtues and defects but in the end, the best band for me.

there is a post here right now that suggests that an album was actually finished and i was just curious about it more in depth. someone said that the original line up had fully finished an album, like it was done but then they broke up. how true is that statement and if it is true do you think that we would ever get it? a leak, a demo? maybe when axl passes away? what do you think? also, what kind of direction was the beand heading in in that "unreleased" album? rock, hard rock, ballads? if this has been a subject before i appologise and please direct me to the right location on the form to get more news. thanks much!

No one knows except a few people how many songs Axl recorded with old and new gnr members..

It would be great to listen to all of them....

Imagine Axl's voice on 1995... it was on top..., unluckily he adopted the mickey mouse voice on 1999...

As a personal opinion it would have been great if the band would have remained as the original line up (except adler).., but I have to recognize that I also embrace the new line up and demos like TWAT make me belive the new album will be worth the wait..... Anyway the direction that GNR had from appetite to UYI's was great. In my opinion the chemistry of each former member made the band unique...

Some people may say that bucket is better than slash.., and in a way, it may be true... but finally all our GNR knowledge is based on OLD GNR, so we must thank slash and all the former members for our GNR love.

Finally I gotta say that I appreciate Robin a lot..., but his guitar skills are far from slash or bucket ones...

In my personal opinion I have to say that off course I support NU-GNR, Axl and the old band members (except Adler) but at the same time I'm very tired because of the delay.... dammit,

Judge it by the music, not how good the music is.

Sorry, but 13 years it's too much time for me. Axl lost all those precious years. He had a good voice on that time. A 50 year old Axl is useless. A 30 year old Axl is much better than an older one, but well... it was his choice...

If chinese democracy is a bad disc, then I will be very sad.... because there is no turning back...

Anyway we have to be very gratefull because of having an Axl Rose. How many years o centuries future generations will have to wait till another Axl Rose comes to earth???
