  1. I just don't get this band. Too me it just sounds like utter crap.

Pretty Much. The tour they are headlining is a rap tour. I'd rather go to it to see the Wu Tang Clan then, lame against the machine

  2. Metallica - St. Anger

Van Halen - Van Halen III(w/Gary Cherone)

I've been meaning to post VHIII since I saw this thread a couple days ago, but haven't gotten around to it. Beat me to it by a few minutes.

I'll add another VH album... 5150

Lets just put down all the VH albums w/ sammy.

  3. Yeah, I think Hell was more about the scene than being a musician, you're right he was more into writing. Funny thing I see him around the neighborhood every once and a while, looks way different know a days.

where?!?!?!?!?! (im in NY too, tell!!!!!!)

I dont know exactly where he lives, but he definitley still lives in the East Village. I last saw him on Ave A.

i'd be SOOO embarassing if i met that guy. on seconds thoughts i just wouldn't period, just end up makin a dick outta myself.

I just gave him a look, like "I know who you are." I really didnt wanna be fanboy and bother him.

he strikes me as very pissed at the british scene, like a lotta people from around the old new york scene, people like Legs McNeil and stuff, which is kinda sad.

Well they're probably pissed that the majority of people think punk started with the Pistols, when we know it didnt. I think the old guys from the NY scene just want people to know that.

the label punk is laid on a lotta folks...and what the pistols were doin is a world apart from what hell was doin so he has nothing really to be mad at. i mean...suicide are punks, james chance and the contortions are punks dead kennedys are punks the slits are punks, they have NOTHING in common...so whats rich mad about?

I dunno, hang around the East Village till you come across him and ask him

  7. The Voidoids 1st album was good but other than that... While Johnny has all the NY Dolls, Heartbreakers, and solo stuff.

you pretty much nailed it right there!

i'd hafta say Johnny as a musician but thats not really a fair comparison really cuz Hell wasnt...expressly interested in rock n roll, he was more of a literary person. Hell went from Television to pissin Tom Verlaine off to joining the heartbreakers and pissin everyone there off cuz he wanted to be the leader not realising the whole reason they came about was to give Johnny HIS band then he made the voidoids, released that incredible album and went on the anarchy tour to get spat at by british fans. Hell is like the unsung hero of Punk Rock who never really got any dues at all. i mean people say that about the ramones but they at least get credit now, no ones even heard of Hell to this day and he started Television was in the heartbreakers made the voidoids, INCREDIBLE band really, with Mark 'Ramone' Bell on the kit...intense fucking band really walk on the water, liars beware, down at the rock n roll club were terrific songs, not forgetting blank generation. he also, allegedly co-wrote chinese rocks and wrote Hurt Me for Thunders which is one of Thunders best fucking songs, really low key and emotionally suggestive whereas most of thunders like tragic songs were very lyrically clear, Hurt Me was really one of the best thunders had to my mind. the comparison is totally unfair cuz Hell i think could give a shit about music once the 80s came around.

He has released shit since during and since the 80's. Anyway the question was asking who you preferred.

  8. After arguing with a friend that Thunders is indeed the better of the two, Im wondering what other people think. I like both but Hell didnt have nearly as many songs as Thunders did. The Voidoids 1st album was good but other than that... While Johnny has all the NY Dolls, Heartbreakers, and solo stuff.

  9. i was never able to get into bon jovi their music has never appealed to my tastes.

Yeah, they seem to appeal more to girls. I personally cant stand the man or his band.

  10. At the same time Axl has used his knowledge of that music to update the sound to produce something like Better which doesn't to me sound like old GNR or a straight copy of NIN or Pearl Jam.

Some parts from Better sound as Limp Bizkit though...

that's an ignorant quote, and someone should punish you with ten hours of listening to Milli Vanilli or Vanilla ICE.. WORTH TO YOUR MOTHER!!!

Not to be picky, but its Word to your mother!!!
