  1. I'll be there. Axl needs to make up for the last time in Birmingham when they had to shorten the set due to his bad throat

Also, if they play the set from the past few shows then there will be 7 songs I didn't see the last time I saw them, including 3 I've never seen them perform live before. So set list moaners - STFU!

Enjoy the show kiddies! I know I will

  2. A number of bands do similar packages, so it's not out of the ordinary. Shinedown for example: http://www.shinedown.com/become-a-shinedownnation-member/

They charge $35 a year for nearly an identical package. So with GnR being a much bigger band $50 or $30 whichever you go for, isn't that bad. And who's to say stuff won't get added in the future? Ie, possessing membership giving you access to meet and greets at any gig you attend and so on.

I swear people moan just for the sake of it sometimes. If you don't like it, don't pay for it. Simple.

  3. Just got back. Awesome night. Axl and the band on top form, and even though he had a bad throat, he still sounded like a demon on the mic. Bit gutted I didn't hear Better, IRS, Don't Cry and Nice Boys, but it was understandable at the end of the day!

    Thank you GnR!!!!!

  4. Live about 30 minutes from LG Arena. Going to try and get there for 7.30-8ish and catch a bit of Bach. Just don't want to queue and stand around for hours, especially as I'm not that fussed with being right at the front. I'll sneak in down the sides, between Bach and GnR when people leave for toilet breaks/beer etc to get close as I can :)

    So pumped for tonight rock1

    Good f'n Night!

  7. £50 is just about the limit as far as ticket prices go for me. I certainly wouldn't pay much more to see any band.

The thing to consider with ticket prices is that the band isn't taking 100% profit from each ticket sold. When you take into account the production costs, paying band members, use of the arena, transportation costs, hiring of staff and so on £50 seems a lot more rational. After all, the concert has to make a profit somehow.

  8. Might as well add my two cents here too :)

Wow what a fuckin' night!!! Best night of my life by far. The moment when the lights finally went down n the opening riff of Jungle played ahhh man I was in heaven. DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE FUCK YOU AREEEEE??!!! amazing!!!! And all my gripes with Robin Finck are over, he's an excellent player live, well his solo sucked ass but hey who the fuck cares lol.

My eyebrows feeling like they were getting burnt by the pyro's was also crazy lol, I had totally forgot abt tht happening, then thought oh yeh now i remember as my face was being burnt to a crisp.

And the moment I loved the most......eye contact with the man himself....there I was, all 6' 5'' of me towering above everyone else, he noticed me as one of the only ones who knew the words to The Blues, at which point he looked directly at me, smiled, nodded for me to carry on as I'd briefly stopped singing and acknowledged me by slightly waving his microphone in my direction. WOW!!!!!!

The security dudes being kicked out was hilarious ''We're trying to have a fuckin' good time, theres no need to be all heavy handed about it. You 2, out of here!!!!'' Quality stuff!!!

Props to x_estranged_x and nadine for throwing the union jack on stage again, awesome moment!!!!

Damn that wasn't bad for a first gig hehe. If the gigs i see to come are as 1/2 as gd as that one, then fuck me side ways its gna be amazing !!!!

Highlights of the night for me, were being able to sing all the new songs whilst everyone around was going ''what the hell is this??'' lol. Better got a rly gd ovation as did The Blues, IRS only got an ok reaction I think, which surprised me. Also loved November Rain, Nightrain, Jungle, well every song really :) what an amazing night!!!

Also during one of Robins solo's one of the women behind me said '' How stoned is he???!!'' in reference to his crazy ass moves n facial expressions whilst playing. Made me chuckle somewhat.

    AXL ROSE IS A GOD!!!!!!!

PS: Dont worry Gash, your not the only one who thought he was on his own with the new songs, only me n my mates knew em, only I knew all the words to em as well out of the 5 of us. People behind us were saying ''what the hell is this?'' though at the end of them they were cheering their little heads off!!

  9. Axl's voice is not fucked....can people stop sayin that...he had mic probs in SCOM and Pittman is totally drowning out the guitar with the effects. The guitars are too quiet anyway....other than tht I see know probs. All the probs are sound related and is the fault of whoevers doing all the sound stuff.

  10. I don't think Axl would wanna waste a whole load of new songs on warm up gigs n take the risk of having the album bootlegged before it comes out. If we think about it, no matter how many times we've heard some of the songs on the setlist, the fact remains that we have 6-7 songs of new material in the setlist that we havent heard proper, non demo, studio versions of. I'm pretty happy at the set list myself tbh, i was just expecting the 2002 set list again with no new stuff at all.

  11. I really do get the feeling that there is no replacement for Buckethead. GnR have two very capable guitar players in Robin Finck and Richard Fortus who are both able to switch between playing lead and rhythm. Fortus proved to me on the 2002 tour that he can play, and I'm basing most of that on his November Rain solo at Boston.

In fairness there's no real need for a 3rd guitarist. The band are more than able to play with these 2, and I always felt that having 3 guitarists was a bit too much.
