  1. One of my absolute favorite bands. The Soft Bulletin is one of my favorite albums and they really do put on one of the best live shows. I met Wayne and Kliph after the concert I went to, too. They were really nice and talkative. I don't know if anyone here likes MGMT, but they are guesting on a song on Embryonic, which should be cool.

  2. Great show last night. My Neon Tiger was just adorable. The feather epaulettes were amazing.

Kaiser Chiefs were also excellent. Ricky is a great frontman. Plus, he somehow climbed from the red stage to the blue stage, which was pretty impressive.

Best performances from The Killers were Dustland Fairytale, Jenny Was A Friend, When You Were Young, All These Things, Bling, Human and Mr Brightside. For some reason they skipped Losing Touch, though. :(

The emotion from Brandon during Dustland was genuinely touching. Dave did an extended solo at the end with Brandon repeating a few lines from the final verse. Great stuff.

I'll put some pics up when I get home tonight.

Looking forward to the pics. I found out today that I'll probably be able to see The Killers in May. Tickets sold out fast, but someone was able to get me tickets. Glad you had a good time.

  3. Sorry, kinda off topic, but you guys should check out the album Zaireeka by the Flaming Lips. It's a four album CD which has different parts of each song split up among the four discs. You need four CD players and some friends in order to synchronize the different discs and listen to the album. Essentially, since each CD play has 2 speakers, it is like listening to an album in 8 speaker surround sound. Also, since the rate at which the laser reads the discs will differ slightly from player to player, the songs will fall slightly in and out of sync, which creates a unique listening experience each time you play the CDs. It's a lot of fun and a great album. Anyway, back on topic...

    Off Topic:

Yeah that was a cool idea. I like artists who takes risks and try different things. You should check out the documentary "Fearless Freaks". They have the footage of them trying the original idea using cassette players in a live environment. It's a really interesting documentary even if you're not a Lips fan.

I've been meaning to check that out. That sounds really cool ,though. Thanks.

  4. Maybe the Ginger Tosser is going to release Chinese Democracy over three discs but not in the traditional sense. Maybe disc one will have vocals, disc 2 guitar and disc three everything else. To hear Chinese Democracy you have to buy all three discs and then play them simultaneously to hear the songs properly.:scared:

"I was concerned about a couple of steps that the Russian government took in the last several days. One was reducing the energy supplies to Czechoslovakia." --John McCain referring to a country that no longer exists, Phoenix, Arizona, July 14, 2008

Ha, cool.:D I wouldn't believe that John McCain has no idea about countries that exist or no-exist for 15 years. We splitted with slovakia in before The Spaghetti Incident was released :D

In topic, it would be absolutely awkward to release CD like that you've written. How many peoples owns 3 Cd players?

I really guess that it will be like one of the possibilities I've written few minutes ago.

This is the first time since 13 Tuesdays that I've actually believed this album will come out. What's going on right now is a little more convincing, too. The only thing that sucks is that there are a few more albums coming out that week that I want to get my hands on. I guess I gotta start saving up now. :P

  5. They cancelled the show because they're trying to work Merck into the band on tambourine. They are still working on different arrangements for some songs to accomodate this, and there is no way they could have been ready for the Fresno show in time.

  6. I see what you're saying. I guess what I'm asking is if BBC Radio 1 carries the kind of weight that would make it desirable to debut a track on it. I see how the albums are weighted differently, but really Contraband did weigh heavy for the band members, because it was their biggest chance of a comeback of sorts.

  7. I find it interesting that BBC radio1 has this on its site. People over at HTGTH are speculating saying "why would just this station have the info and none others." But it is interesting that BBC radio1 is also the first place that Slither by VR was played. This is where the studio recording debuted. My source for this is Rik's site, plus I remember streaming it and listening to it back in 04. At any rate, I'm not from England, so I am not familiar with this station or its reliability, but maybe they do have first dibs on GN'R info or debuting a song. Do they debut songs frequently on this station?

Here's the link for the info about the Slither single. Just a coincidence I thought of. There's just as much chance as this being nothing. Take it for what its worth.

  8. Good post I agree. I especially agree that a lot of the negativity on the boards would go away if they just filled us in on a regular basis. The band seems peeved that we dissect and speculate over so many rumors, people take sides, people argue. This is a basic lack of communication. The band says don't believe anything unless it comes straight from the band, but if the band doesn't tell us anything, then of course all kinds of bullshit is going to come up. What's happening with the band? Did something go wrong? Is there some sort of surprise? No one knows. I like coming to these boards but it sucks that there is a lot of arguing. We're all here because we like GN'R in some way shape or form. We all have our own opinions about the band and songs and thats great. But in my opinion, if GN'R wants to make a real and relevant comeback, they need to start by helping to unite the fans, not divide them into opinionated sects. The key to starting this is communication.

Sorry I'll step off my soapbox now.

  9. I know Calgary is not that big of a market but it's not small either (1 million+ population) and the show tommorow night is a sold out gig at a 20,000+ capacity arena. Thats gotta be one of the biggest crowds that Axl + friends has played to on this tour (Maybe not the biggest but definetly up there) and it wouldn't be crazy to think that something out of the ordinary might come up.

Maybe an extra song? a new song? an extended rant? some clues into the whole Chi-dem fiasco?

    what do you think?

I dont know dude, but I love the sig B)

Whooooa oh oh Sweet Child O' Mine...

What better thing to put into a Slash sig then Slash's greatest achivement, the greatest riff of all-time.

What better thing? Well for starters you could put the correct tablature for the riff in your sig.

    :P

  10. I probably wouldn't go again unless they have the new album out. I went to Cleveland and had fun, but the crowd was asleep, and I missed the old guys on the old songs. That being said, I would love to see the new guys play the material that they contributed to. This is by no means a slam to the new band, by the way.

  11. "Kyle's mom is a big fat bitch, she's the biggest bitch in the whole wide world..."

    :P

Seriously, though. I agree that it is kind of a double standard given GN'R's lyrics. The paper doesn't mention how the girls have tape over their nipples anyways. If the lady doesn't want her kid to go, great, it would just suck to be the kid whose mom had to ruin the party for everyone in town his age.

  12. Because they don't want casual fans to know that Slash, Duff and Matt are not in the band. That's why.

Yea right. If that was true, then why would they be releasing Chinese Democracy (an entire NEW album with NEW songs from the NEW band)??? It's coming out on one of the next few Tuesdays to drive the Chinese Democracy tour.

If they didn't want people to know there was a new band, they'd never release a new album. Instead, they'd just release a DVD of the old band or something.

Sorry, but that's about to happen.

Glad you still have faith tho, I envy you :)

 Oh really? Sarcasm anyone? Hahaha

  13. Just got back. It was pretty fun, though the crowd seemed dead. A few people around me even left. Axl talked about how cool Cleveland and Cinci were in 2002 and said that the bands engineer is a Browns fan. Talked to Dizzy before the show. He was just walking around among the fans by the concessions, no one seemed to notice who he was. At any rate, he was nice enough to chat for a sec. I told him I was looking forward to CD, and he kinda chuckled and rolled his eyes and said "ha...yeah..." Don't really know how to interpret that, but whatever. Fun night, but a late one. Time for bed. :sleeper:

yeah, sure you did. I dont believe you. Sorry, I just dont.

Go look over on HTGTH other people are posting about meeting Dizzy before the show. He was walking around by the concessions. Besides, I have no reason to lie about this. It's not like he gave me substantial info or anything.

  15. I wouldn't say my spirit is broken quite yet, but if it doesn't come out this year I'll feel really let down. I think the band and the management take the fanbase's dedication for granted. The shit that flies around these places and causes so much negativity is in part due to them. If they kept us anywhere near informed, then there wouldn't be "fake insiders" and mass specualtion and continual disappointment. Perhaps if they filled us in on the process of what they're actually doing, we might understand where they're coming from and not have the extreme reactions we do. I'm not asking for a release date. Just respect for the fan. They might not care about losing some fans based on how they act, but I think that just shows that they take the fanbase for granted. They should be thankful for the people attending their shows, purchasing their albums and awaiting their return, but if the best they can do is provide a general lack of information and a shitty letter from Del James scolding the fans, then that's sad.

    Just my two cents.
