Also what about Starry Eyes? I have never heard anyone mention this song, although it is among the best in my opinion.

Well if I limit myself on the offered bands I will definitely go with Judas Priest.

But again, there are many metal bands (of all subgenres) that people never mention, or that are just not well known, that in quality overcome by far most of the bands mentioned above.

I always liked Jefferson airplane. Started listening to them when I was hm...12 (?). But then I made a short break for some reason and got back into them like last year.But guess what...I left like all of their stuff some 6k miles from here so it sucks. I have to download all those songs and like...it is not always quite easy to find everything you want...

And all that crap about who is a better player\songwritter is doomed from the begining. You just can't compare them, since the music they both created is completely different.The ideas they had in their heads while creating it were quite different from the start.

Well, I have to agree with all people who mentioned classics like Led Zepp, Jimi, Sabbath and other bands.

However, there is one very important classic band that nobody has mentioned so far - Judas Priest.And their album Painkiller.No matter if you like their music or not you gotta own this album.At least for educational purpose.Painkiller showed the world that the band was able to make a metal masterpiece even after 20 years of existence.That's only one of the things that makes it important.

Yeah, they are good.I like their most famous songs like Pull me under, and Change of seasons.

I can't decide between 1 or 6.   No really, I love him, but I love the original GNR as a band more than Axl on his own.   The 1 only comes into it because of what he has done to GNR.

Something is wrong with the band, you cant deny that.They had problems on US tour, and then they canceled tour.

I dont think that Nirvana is better than metallica.Their music is simple, lyrics are little above average, their videos suck.Also, Kurt was one big jerk and looser (ok personal opinion only).
