  1. Hey! just wanted to say if anyone is around the West Mids area this weekend and fancies some live GnR, we are playing a couple of gigs in Coventry - Longford Engine on Friday night, and Hillfields Gala Day fest on Saturday. Check out the website for more info :)

  2. Thanks..but as I explained earler, the demo on the site is from over a year ago when we were just starting off - we know the songs a lot better nowadays having gigged a lot more since then!!

I love singing GnR, but at the end of the day this is just a starting point - my aim is to have my own successful originals band, but being in a tribute band is great experience for the real thing. So if there's anyone on here who's in the West Midlands area looking for a vocalists to write rock/metal stuff with, drop me a line.

In the meantime, I'm hoping to maybe cover some of the newest GnR material, well at least what's been leaked off Chinese Democracy. IRS, The Blues and Madagascar are awesome!! x rock3

  3. not THAT good eh? considering recent events I would tend to disagree. An agency found us and put us on their books immediately after listening to that demo, and got us the gig in Aberdeen, which went amazingly well. Getting paid to play to hundreds of people who love GNR and the way we do it is very satisfying, and I thank my stars we have been so lucky to get this far, yet this is only the beginning!

Rocket Queen has come a long way since those old recordings (a few of which we find awful compared to how we sound now!), and I hope someday you will be able to judge for yourselves by coming along to one of our gigs. We are hoping to organise some sort of mini UK tour this summer, so will keep you posted on up n coming events.

FAO: Guns2Roses Axl - cheers for all the advice dude, let me know if the guys are still up for Scarborough, gimme a call :)

  4. Lol thanks for the constructive criticism dude. I've no idea where West Riding is. We're based in Coventry - you anywhere near the West Midlands? We r playing Scotland next, but that's probably a bit too far North for you.

Hopefully we will be gigging around more of the country later this year, so just keep an eye on the website, maybe we'll be in a pub near you soon!!

  5. Ok I take back the abuse. As for the falsetto part on It's so Easy, I used to find that problematic but have it covered now. They are old recordings, and I have been through a few months of classical singing lessons since then so my voice is way better than the stuff on the website, although I still think the studio tracks on the site are very good.

I was quite pleasantly surprised by the consistently positive response..so fair enough for someone to offer criticism, but asking for me to be shot and to 'stop singing and ruining the songs', im sorry but that is way out of line. From the reception I've got from hundreds of people, I know my voice isn't that bad!!

Also, you saying all everyone is doing is going on about image/girl power is false. Only one person mentions that they think I'm attractive and it's a surprise that a girl has such a masculine voice, and she is also a girl. No stupid 'girl power' shit - that stuff sickens me anyway...I personally hate all that feminist bollocks.

The rest said they liked it - no harm in that.

I find it funny that a small minority of people on forums like this just take it as an opportunity to bitch, whether it's warranted or not. Obviously you read the post and saw that no-one had been very negative so far, so you saw a prime opportunity to try and stir things up. Hope you've got your little kick now :P

  6. Thanks everyone! Glad you like it. :D

The photos of past gigs are back up now, it was undergoing some much-needed maintenance.

So no-one thinks it strange we have a female singer?

We got a load of abuse off a guy on another band forum once cos he thought it was a 'silly gimmick' and doubtless of whether the music sounded alright or not, he said it just didnt look right so we should pretty much give it up. He was a bit of a cunt

  7. Hey, I'm the lead singer of Rocket Queen - a female fronted guns n roses tribute act based in Coventry, UK. We've been around for about a year and a half playing at student venues and local pubs n clubs, but now an agency have decided to take us on things are getting more serious! Some people may find the idea of havin a female Axl a bit strange, but it seems to work, we've always had a great reception from crowds.

Just thought I'd put up this post as a bit of free advertising, and to get some feedback.

Let me know what you think! ;)

Next gig: The Kef, Aberdeen, Scotland Saturday 29th April
