  1. Ok then!! The questions aren’t here but the answers as it moves along I think point pretty clearly to what was asked in pretty much order or close of the 7 pages. If I didn't answer it was either already answered, off topic or I mistakenly overlooked the question, my apologies for the inconvenience. It’s not as light hearted as some of the other sessions but that’s the subject matter. Whew!!

Thanks everyone. Hope to get back soon. I’ll take a look at that list. As long as we don’t get to personal or offensive I’m good with things. Thanks for all the questions, my apologies for not answering specifically to each, this was just a bit easier for this subject. Hope no one took wanting to stay on topic to personal. Thanks again to everyone who participated. Thanks to everyone for the great comments and appreciation. Happy Holidays. :xmassrudolph:

    Axl-

While I believe that is 100% accurate from you perspective, all that was posted was placing the blame on every one else. You must have had some fault in the demise of the Original GNR. I don't think everyone's just out to destroy you. How can the majority of the accounts from your former friends be lies to manipulate and mislead us? When everyone's accounts seem pretty consistent. I know everyone has a side, but that was a very one sided account.

I don't know if it's a coincidence, but just about every other time you have something to promote ,you have to "drag your former friends across the mud." Back when you released the press statement to promote the 2006 tour, and now that the album isn't doing to well you have to drag them again to get some attention to promote the record.

Any way it good to hear your side of the story coming out.

  2. If only Slash would put his guitar where his mouth is. At the gym the other morning I saw a concert video of Chic playing their apocalyptic disco-disaster, "Le Freak," and who pops out to solo, but Slash. I almost puked . . .

Didn't you know he's a Carlos Santana clone as well?

It's funny how the Slash lovers ignore these facts as if they never happened. They read over posts like this and then just blank it out as if they never even read it. If playin' with MJ wasn't enough ... freakin' sellout. Meanwhile, GnR now consists of true musicians who have artistic integrity.

Izzy was right. Slash would do anything for money and fame.

    Slash + Chic

Wasn't Slash the one to complain about the female backup singers Axl hired for GnR's UYI tours? What a double talkin' jive. You can't trust anything he says anymore.

Oh, isn't that the same solo he did in the Zakk Wylde video as well?

Do you have any youtube clips of Richard Fortus playing with N Sync or Britney Spears?

    Didn't Slash turn down Britney?

  3. Ummm, most people have excepted it, including me. But, I'm not the one who couldn't move on *cough*AXL*cough*.

clearly you haven't. otherwise you wouldn't be making off topic, attention seeking posts meant to piss of fans on a Guns N Roses fan board.

    :sleeper:

  4. Slash wont be there :xmasssanta:

Yup, because this is Axl's cover band version of GNR.

    :sleeper:

Some people just won't accept that GN'R has moved on since Slash, Duff, Gilby and Matt left...

Ummm, most people have excepted it, including me. But, I'm not the one who couldn't move on *cough*AXL*cough*.

  5. uh you guys, i think we can end this conversation. both sf shows are sold out, and they have been on sale for only about two and a half hours. now lets look at this logically, sf is a very realistic market, someting that is similar to major cities around the us while vegas is not. sf tickets were half as much as the vegas shows, yet still relatively expensive for that particular sf venue, but they sold out quick.

i agree i would be woried a bit if sf shows did not sell out, given that this is the true market gnr will be in for the remainder of the us tour, but guess what, im not at all because tickets went in a flash, just like they did in ny(where tickets there were also half as much), and arent most seats at denvore gone.

what i can conclude is that vegas is just too expensive (vegas itself as a whole is a lotta money for one night to see the show), but whoever priced these tickets knows that they will get it sold out for sure eventually. this is not a matter of gnr losing any popularity that it maight have had since 2002.

    ohmygod

It's a no brainer, the GNR name is selling the tickets. If the band wasn't named Guns N' Roses they wouldn't be selling a fraction of that. :drevil:

  6. The Guns N' Roses name alone is selling the tickets. What has the NuGnR done to sell tickets? Release Music?

There living off the past right now.

    correct

kroq wont even mention the fact that there a different line-up and there advertising them as just guns n roses with the original line-ups material

    this is just plain bullshit

    false advertisement

So if it really is the GNR name is selling tickets, and if people are being led to believe that the original lineup is playing, wouldn't they be selling MORE tickets? Wouldn't all the presale tickets be gone by now, and does it mean that Inland Invasion sell out in about 5 minutes?

The majority of the fans know that the current GNR is a cover band minus Axl, so I think that reflects the ticket sales.

Also, I agree the name alone is selling the tickets. Tell me what the the band has released to sell tickets?

    Not a damn thing!

    :anger:

  7. Slash and Page rule the (guitar) world.

Yeah, maybe in 1987 Slash ruled.

But funny, I didn't see any "Snakepit" or "VR" albums listed. And all those albums are Slash's projects. And uh, no UYI records too, even though Slash did all the guitar work. UYI was about Slash trying to take over the band too.

So, what's so different about AFD? Oh, right, Axl and Izzy had more input on the guitar work and sound.

I'm willing to bet back in 2002 before Axl and Izzy made up you would be dissing Izzy. Just like Axl in his 02-rants. So now that Axl and Izzy are cool again, it's cool to like Izzy.

I love Slash. I seriously do. He's great and all but there are too many people who think GnR is Slash. Well, I like to tip the balance so to speak - play devil's advocate so that people can open their eyes and see the other side of the story. The truth is, if you could actually see Slash's face behind all that hair, you'll see that if his ego wasn't so big, he could still be in GnR. GnR is Axl and Izzy, always was and always will be. Slash's best work was when Axl and Izzy were there to "guide" him. Do you really think the November Rain guitars solo would be that great without Axl and Izzy? There wouldn't even be November Rain without Axl. Have you heard all the other ballads Slash has put out since UYI? They suck shit compare to November Rain and Don't Cry. Why? Because Axl and Izzy are the real genius behind GnR.

If Axl's vocals where over Contraband or if Finck and Fortus played the same riffs and solos, you'de probably think it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Slash ruined GnR because he thought he was bigger then GnR - he thought he was bigger than Axl and Izzy. The only two constants in GnR are Axl and Izzy - as long as those two are alive, GnR will always be kicking. And just like how Axl found success by replacing Tracii Guns with Slash, he will rise to top with CD because he was able to replace Slash with people that share his vision for GnR.

I believe that was Axl who thought he was bigger than GnR. It's no secret Axl isn't the easiest person to work with. GnR was five guys. Not three guitarist, two keyboardist, etc. Obviously, something was wrong. Why do you think Izzy, Slash, Gilby, Duff, and Matt left?

  8. You are Crazy! Robins Playing is pretty Awesome! It's ok if you don't like his style you are just dated. I'm always amused by all the 80's metal lovers that cant let go of the past.

I guess being modern and not dated means playing out of tune.

  9. axlg7ue.jpg

He looks like Robin Williams rappin'

Damn Axl your fingers fingers got a little chubby

But, thats some funny photoshopping, the W.A.R. was a nice touch.

  10. I agree this shouldn't turn in a New Vs. Old thread. As much as I would love to see a reunion, right now isn't the time. Axl & The New Guns have put too much time into Chinese Democracy, and the material deserves to be heard and preformed. Richard, Robin, and Ron deserve a chance to prove themselves. Those who dislike them have to face it, they are GNR now.
