if anyone is still interested AT ALL on this (yeah 3 years later i know....i know... i deserve the shit storm) i still got the files i was talking in the previous pages.

a little update for the always friendly community: Me and my friend have been lately talking about sitting our asses in front of our computers and finishing this baby, mainly because working on this was an awesome and really enjoyable experience back then, and what we had acomplished in terms of the quality of results was really promising. And now adding some 2/3 years of editing experience can make a difference on the final output

PS: sorry for the epic bump btw, but i noticed nothing really big was happening lately

What was "Love & Laughter"? Never heard of that one.

Was a good 2 or 3 years before the record dropped.

Mid tempo song with an Axl'esque vocal and a guitar part which reminded me of Brian May.

Assuming it was nothing but oddly all mention of it seemed to disappear within a couple of weeks.

Never heard it mentioned again since.

This was a song from a band called "el presidente" it was a very nice song, if anyone still has it, can you share it? i tried to search for this but it seems to be pretty well hidden haha

PS: i have a small snippet of what it seems to be a studio version of Silkworms (vocals included), has that leaked or is it just a fake?

i actually like the song a lot. I played it over some speakers in my work and people starting dancing on their desks!! (this quote never gets old)

The brand-name "Guns n Roses" will always be backed by a major record label; there's just too much cache there. It's like KISS.

Record labels don't do much these days anyway. What are they doing for GNR right now? Nothing, really. Touring and merchandising is a separate venture, and the label has nothing to do with it.

Labels, by and large, advance money to artists in order to produce an album. As long as there is no new album, the labels have no expenses or profits with GNR, at all. The label doesn't collect anything from the band's touring profits.

Thats not actually accurate, you have what is called "360 contracts" and the 90% of the music business today is on those. This means that while bands are touring / selling merch, the labels are still getting profits

Anyway we have a lot of patience (we are after all GNR fans lol) if you want to start over!

no need to start over, not everything was lost, infact most of it remains fnished, what was lost, was the audio mastering and the color correction and that stuff, so what needs to be done, is not a lot of work, but im having a lot of work outside this project, so i delayed the last finishing touches of this to after christmas, with the idea to finish it before february

offered to upload what i had and call it done, but some folks here where right.. this project needs to see the light when its finished, it would be a waste of time to release it undone

actually i was mugged, external disk with the finished stuff was in my backpack, since that i dont think i ll be finishing this project sometime soon, this situation got me very depressed thats why i didnt came back to the forum before..

if anyone is interested, i got the raw videos (no color correction, no sound mastering) in another HDD, but i think its a shame to upload the unfinished material.. anyway, you guys choose since i wont be finishing this until february probably..

the DVD is done, will you dickheads stop whining about what songs are or aren't included. There could be many reasons the set list is as it is. maybe he couldn't find good audio/video footage for those songs, maybe they don't fit on the DVD, etc. etc. etc. give the guy a break and STOP FUCKING WHINING, jesusfuckingchrist

sorry for the delay on answering this, been recording and working on some records, and the hours spent to the project needed to decrease..

anyway im more than happy to announce that ITS DONE! the live DVD is finally done

will take 2/3 weeks more, to send all the messages to the youtube accounts for the "thank you" list, talk to some admins from other forums that PMed me to help to spread the project, and build a blog or something like that

to post the project and upload to your favourite torrents

anyway, this couple of weeks ahead, are needed to have all the "thank you's" in order, and to try to make a big deal of this, so whoever wants to help the credit list at the end of the DVD will be open for the next 2 weeks

probably gonna upload some final trailer to announce the definitive date in a week or two, (didnt make it the last time, cause i was working at full, and dedicating time to that would be a loss of time to finish the whole DVD)

hey man sorry for the delay on answering,im glad to say the project is very near completion!!!, im gonna be uploading some screenshots this weekend so you can take a look at the menu and the overall design of this dvd thingy

The live dvd its 80% done, we just need to do some mastering to the audio source, and to announce the release date, we are also thinking to make a website or something like that, because we are loving the concept of this live dvd (the filmed and edited by fans idea, and seeing GNR from the fan that attended the concert point of view) , and also to make it easier for everyone to download this baby

The documentary (for the ones that didnt know, we are working on a 10-minute doc, about the last CD world tour, to release with the live dvd) is a little bit more delayed because we are trying to finish first the live dvd which is the main idea, and the concept of making a documentary from fans footage its a lot more complex, and also we are trying to include some sort of surprise on it, but cant tell until its confirmed

the answer is a big NO, as the trailer says its produced by the fans for the fans, so everything has been recorded by fans on the live dvd, thats the main idea of the project the "view of the GNR fan", on the documentary we have some news reports but i dont wanna disclose too much of it until i got some things sorted out

Nobody has to be making a profit, just charge enough to cover costs. If you do it in the form of Paypal Donations then you aren't actually charging anybody for anything and you won't have any legal trouble either.

To be honest I'm waiting to see more, the Ashba footage on the trailer is shit. If you want to build tension, you need close up and extreme close ups. The very end of the trailer is a fail, you don't unzoom to build the tension, you zoom in. I'm sorry I edit a lot of videos so I'm quite sharp and critical when I see other edited videos. I hope the actual editing of the songs will be better, and that the footage will be better as well.

haha i guess you dont understand the project...let me know if u find some extreme close ups, of course i would want to have them that way but i have to do it with what people have shot with their cams..thats the beauty of it, and im very clear about that, also on the end of the trailer the intention is not to create tension, but to let the tension created before, go to waste, like a balloon deflating, i know what you meant, it was not what i was looking for. also if u are that pro editing video you are welcomed to collaborate

GNR deserves the best fan videos to be made about them, to be honest I'm pretty busy with my own stuff, but I you can provide me good shots and good audio recording, I will make the best editing possible (I work with Final Cut Pro on a mac).

they are, the 3 videos i had uploaded on youtube were thrown to waste and started again with better audio
