I can’t remember who, but someone else who auditioned for the band used this same riff on one of their songs as well.

Not sure what you mean. This is VR playing on the track. They sent the same music out to all the vocalists being considered.

  2. Turns out author and singer Nick Fowler was one of the people who tried out for Velvet Revolver after Scott's exit. He's just released a song he did for the band in 2008 called "Long Way Down to Gehenna" to all streaming services and YouTube. It's fairly generic musically, probably one of only a couple sent out to potential vocalists. What he did with it is not too bad overall IMO. In related news, Fowler has since had the realization that he is Jesus Christ reincarnated.

    Source?

Nothing confirmed, but there were some unflattering asides about Axl - one in particular where Bach said he was introduced to crystal meth by him and how the two used to smoke it together - that were excised from the final copy of the book. Something like that would likely be fodder for some pretty sensationalized headlines and I wouldn't be surprised to find out Axl kindly asked that portion be removed.

The only parts I'm interested in are the ones about Axl, to be honest. I had a feeling that he would try to get the book censored, or canceled.

Well, Axl censored part of Sebastian's book, but they are apparently good friends. I wonder if Matt sent a the galleys to him to look at first - not sure if they're that close tho.

Yeah it was revised versions of previously unreleased songs from the early 80s. I would imagine GN'R will eventually do something similar, especially since they can cherry pick from the canceled 1996 album, the canceled velvet revolver album, and chinese democracy 2.

They were actually from the mid-70s. And it was almost half the album but all of it was newly recorded with different solos and lyrics.
