He should settle down and write a book called "ark of covenant, the holy grail, chinese democracy and other things people believe in but never were found". I would buy it... could be a bit of a time between first announcement and release date though, like 10+ years.

Nah... i don't even think that the record is already finished. Probably Axl decides after the Tour that some Parts need a re-recording with the new Band-Members, then CD may be out in mid 2007...perhaps.

By the way: On the WDR Board is stated that they are allowed to show the concert on tv (not live though)... so whwhy the heck do they don't agree to stream it???

Well, officials of WDR said just 10 mins ago that they have NO permission of thr management for a stream. So no guns today.

SHIT! Theres an official statement on the guestbook that they have no OK for broadcasting! Just popped in there!

errr... they are playing on diffrent stages... so jamiroquai and gnr probably play same time. Nothing to worry about yet... i just hope they cancel the planned broadcastingg of Jamiroquai and get their damn contacts signed to show us GNR!

Quite good news from the WDR guestbook: The WDR is waiting for the contracts for broadcasting which will the band hopefully sign. If so, they will broadcast it!

So we have to wait for the arrival of GNR which will be shortly before their gig around 2 am german time.

Maybe i missed a few things here, but i think the demos are just demos, nothing more or less. Just a sketch to get a clear idea how the song will sound. The real work starts later in the studio and i don't think ANY of the material recorded for the demos will be used and all the songs will be recorded again.

That's btw why i am thinking that CD is quite far from a release as nothing or really not much is recorded yet, it is all still in Axls head. That would even fit with the tour dates: i would expect recordings (which take 4-8 weeks) after the european tour followed by the postproduction. So a release in fall seems quite realistic to me. Timing would be perfect as the band should be grown strong over the european concerts.

hehe, never noticed that weird instrument that sounds like a reverse accordeon or stuff on KOHD... that sound-mix gives a whole new gnr experience... though i really loved to hear some guitars. sounds a bit like a softporno version of gnr on that stream...

i still wonder if the crowd in lisbon gets the same sound... at least they seem to have their fun... can't be that bad then...

As long as there is not at least an official statement i don't believe in anything. I still remember 2001 as i fell for rumours last time. Everybody took the planned concerts and a few new songs as a proof for the release of Chinese Democracy. Concerts in my region has all been cancelled and we still wait for CD...

There is absolutely no need to get a record out before get on tour for some festivals in summer, juts take a look at Metallica, they just take a break in recording their new album. Other bands, like The Sisters of Mercy even manage it to tour several times worldwide without getting out any cd at all (since 1990 if i m not mistaking... even a few years more than axl...). And they still have new stuff from time to time.

So i will see GnR eventually at the NovaRock festival (depends on Mr. Rose...). Nothing more and nothing less. No high hopes for anything more here.
