    International TV coverage of Rock in Rio-Lisboa

    The success of the 2004 broadcast has resulted in interest from many new international TV channels. Without any doubt, there will be tremendous excitement in Lisbon's City of Rock in 2006 as the world's biggest international music stars are scheduled to perform at Rock in Rio Lisboa, the world's largest and most prestigious music event. The concert will again be televised around the globe and those who are not able to make the trip to the City of Rock on May 26th, 27th or June 2nd, 3rd and 4th, will be able to follow the event on TV, albeit in most countries at a later date.

    The 2004 event was not only broadcast around the planet, TV hosts and their crews from more than 10 countries came to Lisbon to shoot their own additional material and interviews. These included: RTL Holland (which broadcast more than 4 hours to their Dutch viewers), TV4 Sweden, DRTV Denmark and DBB Indonesia, to name but a few. And the most popular music program on TVE Spain, "Musica Uno" included special segments about Rock in Rio­Lisboa in several of its Saturday broadcasts; before, during and after the event.

    The success of the 2004 broadcast has resulted in interest from many new international TV channels and quite a few have already scheduled Rock in Rio-Lisboa in their 2006 line-up. But only Portugal will see the entire event live. In most of the rest of the world one-hour Specials of each day will be broadcast, while some countries will air a one- or two-hour overall highlight show.

    A broadcast schedule for each of the main markets around the world will be posted on this site as it becomes available in the months leading up to the event.

    1. Don't stay at Hotel Penn. It's a shithole.

    Glad someone agrees with me on that one. Hotel Penn could cave in tomorrow. :rolleyes: You wouldn't even take a shower in that place, you'd feel dirty once again as you get out. The lobby is okay, but once you get in the elevator... be prepared.

    5. Don't worry about taking a camera in, the security there is a joke.

    They might be strict for these concerts.

    Guns N' Roses to Play New York

    Axl's crew to perform in U.S. for first time in three years

    When Axl Rose told Rolling Stone in January that he'd have new music for Guns N' Roses fans this year, he wasn't kidding. After a decade of working on Chinese Democracy, the follow-up to 1993's platinum-selling The Spaghetti Incident?, and three years away from American stages, GN'R are ready to play New York next month. Tickets for May 15th and 17th at the Hammerstein Ballroom, go on sale April 21st.

    While there's no definite word as to what music Axl and his current GN'R lineup will play live, the notoriously reclusive rocker told Rolling Stone of his new songs, "I'm trying to do something different. Some people are going to say, 'It doesn't sound like Axl Rose, it doesn't sound like Guns N' Roses.'"

    Thirty-two songs -- including the Axl faves "Better," "There Was a Time" and "The Blues" -- are in the works for the new album, to be narrowed down to thirteen. Versions of "Better" and "There Was a Time" were among the tracks leaked online -- and, briefly, to radio -- in February.

    After these two U.S. dates, GN'R are also slated to play a string of dates in Europe, starting May 27th in Lisbon, Portugal.

    An official release date for the now-mythical Chinese Democracy has yet to be announced.

    What's to stop some asshole from giving it to everyone if they give us it tomorrow? I hope they wait until Thursday at like 10:55 to send it to us.

    Shall it be at 10:55, then it wouldn't be fair. Some e-mail has delays. Imagine if it was your e-mail account that delayed. Just imagine.

    Everyone just has to be quicker than that asshole and whoever he or she gives it to. :D

    Maybe the Dizzy Reed show in Hartford, CT will be a warm up for Dizzy and Fortus. NYC is only right around the corner so Fortus can arrive seeing Dizzy is appearing in Hartford as "playing Guns N' Roses" and as "a tribute to Guns N' Roses." Hmmm...
