What are you freaking expecting??? Metallica had two nights at Metlife Stadium charging $9,000 for pit each night. There were plenty of people in the pit at both shows. No matter which band you see in the pit, it'll always be expensive. For both Metallica and GNR, I paid $180 including fees.  For GNR, I'm sitting in the lower level at Metlife Stadium . For Metallica, I sat in the mezzanine section further back at Metlife Stadium. Additionally, I have a college friend who has Metallica as his favorite band. He got tickets for $100 both nights. He sat in the upper deck in the back.  Don't complain when you are selecting the most expensive seat to begin with.

Pump the brakes sir.  For my Metallica ticket for next August, again, I have GA field tickets, granted not Snakepit but still GA pit tickets, and after fees they were $406.80 for TWO NIGHTS.  I’m not complaining about that at all, what I’m saying is unacceptable is that since the 2016 reunion, GNR have released 3 “new” songs and that’s it, and they have kept this weird small put up front and seats everywhere else in order to charge an elevated pit price.  Which, if they were actively releasing new music and functioning like an actual band producing music I may not have as much of an issue with it.  But aside from rotating in a few new songs there’s no justifying a ticket price like $375 before fees for a pit ticket when nothing has changed since 2016 and quite frankly, the opening act sucks (I’m talking about Fenway so I don’t get Carrie Underwood or AIC) it’s unacceptable.  I’m sorry if that opinion upsets you.

Prices are definitely too expensive (imo) but these shows are selling. Europe sold great and the 2 Canadian shows were both packed. 20K and 40K is nothing to sneeze at. I'm sure most Americans shows will sell just fine. A few head-scratchers in there for sure tho...

Considering the tiny little pit they use at the stadiums in the US, the fact that pit tickets are available two weeks before the show is concerning.  And obviously the promoters know it because they’re offering 4 ticket bundles for $99 at this point and put tickets went from $375 to $149.  If the demand were there for the tickets they wouldn’t be dropping prices that hard.

I think it's been delayed because tickets are still selling.

Tickets apparently AREN’T selling.  I’ve been debating for months if I wanted to take the trip to Fenway to see them, since my last GNR show was in 2016.  But $375 plus fees totaling $450 for a pit ticket was too steep for me.  Flash forward to this past Monday when I look and see put tickets are still available, still listed at $375.  Just out of curiosity I added one to my cart to see what the total would be, in the cart the ticket was actually $149 plus fees for a total of $188, so I pulled the trigger.  $188 is acceptable in 2023, but just barely.  $375 before fees is highway robbery, even my Metallica GA ticket for next August at Gillette was only $300 before fees and that’s for both nights.

Absurd was debuted on August 3rd 2021 in Boston then released after the August 5th show in East Rutherford

Yup, on my birthday.  I was driving home from seeing Limp Bizkit (my all time favorite band) and Fred Durst had given me a hoodie after the show, so I was already on cloud 9.  Then as I’m driving home Absurd hits Apple Music, and while it’s my least favorite out of the “new” tunes released since the reunion (Shadow, Absurd, Hard Skool) it was really exciting to get a new track from one of my favorite bands.

For reference, Limp Bizkit, GNR, and Metallica are me three favorite bands of all time.  I’m working on a full sleeve on my left arm incorporating all three of them using album covers.  So far I’ve got LB finished and partial on Metallicas section, then the top of my arm/shoulder will be GNR.

  4. Well I’ve been going back and forth for months about if I should attend or not, and tickets haven’t been selling well, so just to experiment I threw a $375 GA Turf ticket in my cart, and instead of ringing up at $375, it was $150 so I hit the purchase button.  I’ll be in Boston two weeks from today, haven’t seen GNR since night 1 at Gillette in 2016 so I’m excited!

  5. I’ve gotta be honest now that this is released.  If I wasn’t paying for Apple Music, I would be SUPER pissed about the fact that to get all of the material I would have to shell out for not just the “Super Deluxe” but also for each albums individual “Deluxe Edition” for those extra tracks as well.  And that’s not factoring in that I see everyone talking about differences on the Japanese versions too. That’s a pretty low move, even for GNR.

  6. That seems REALLY high.  I’ve been here since 2006, and I participate as much as I can, but as a family man it’s hard to be 100% dedicated to posting all the time, so I only have 300-something posts, but I’ve been a loyal member for 13 years.  The idea that closed sections would start at 2000+ posts would be really discouraging.

Makes me laugh when GNR fans try to diminish Slash’s songwriting abilities when, since leaving the band he’s come up with Serial Killer, Neither Can I, Beggars & Hangers On, Been There Lately, Back To The Moment, Fall To Pieces, Slither, Loving The Alien, Messages, Gotten, Starlight, By The Sword, Anastasia, Beneath The Savage Sun, The Unholy, The Great Pretender.

His post Classic-Guns catalogue combined is a lot more substantial than Axl’s one solitary  album.

    Wasn’t Messages a cover?

  8. It’s an Axl Rose cameo on a new (terrible) version of Looney Tunes.  It’s incredibly cool to see Axl doing something like this, but don’t read too deeply into the song itself, while it definitely has the signs of an AC/DC tune (corny title with “Rock” mentioned multiple times) it’s clearly a song written by the writers on the show within the context of the plot.  I.E. use rock music to destroy the rock (asteroid.)  I view this as a positive sign that we will definitely see GNR output in the near future put together with the other hints we’ve gotten recently, but don’t get carried away or too attached to this “Rock the Rock” song.   It’s clearly a one off that the writers gave to Axl within the plot lines on his cameo.

Bottom line: excellent to see Axl do something unexpected, stay positive, but expect new things, don’t read too deeply into “Rock the Rock.”

    👍🏻
