I'm agreeing with Coma. True- place is a shit-hole. Although like a lot of places I'm sure the ocean front is mint & safe (they keep the riff raff away). But again- it's a 3rd world dump. What would he want to live in a 3rd world county? People leave Brazil not the other way around.
Yeah, what a shit-hole. They only have free public education and a universal health system. Beaches, amazing food, great weather, friendly people. How could people choose this to having new iPods every year?
BTW, I live next door, in Argentina, but believe me people don't leave Brazil. They might have issues like most countries do, but it's an amazing place to live.

Alice and Chains, without Lyne Staley, pulled in 50,000 people there? That's like three times as big of an audience that they played before while headlining at the height of there career. That shits crazy. Pearl Jam I can see. But AIC? We're they with 5 or 6 other bands or what?
I admit it made me laugh.Axl better milk this while he's ahead... in another 5-10 years South America will discover Grunge and it will be all over.
Pearl Jam played a concert to 60 thousand people here last month and last year Alice In Chains played to 50 thousand. Heh...
SA has a HUGE territory with a very large population. When bands come to play here they only do one or two gigs per country, so many people from different cities attend. Almost any international band could easily sell 50k tickets here. It's usual for you to have big bands playing close to you, but not for us.

Apparently the bands enjoy it a lot, I guess we do it in part to show them they're appreciated down here... or maybe because we can't hold it together... or maybe because we're assholes, I really don't know, but some bands like AC/DC, pearl jam, megadeth or even sebastian bach admited publicly they really enjoy the whole SA vibe.

If Slash is not available...

Recorded by me.
If you're wondering what is the guy saying at the begging of the song it is something like "shove the camera up your ass you douchebag", lol.

Don't cry was a very nice surprise indeed...

The show was great, it was epic but it's in my top 5 of all shows i've ever seen.
Unfortunatelly in some parts of the field axl's voice was a little low but it was not a mic problem since the rest of the stadium assures they heard perfect.
I was very close to the stage but in a particular spot where the sound was ok.
Here's the proof:

And finally a poor quality picture

There are plenty of rumours... Some venues are already confirmed and tickets are for sale (Uruguay for example).
In Argentina tickets are not for sale yet, however ticketek will probably be selling them and posted this:
Marzo:
7 – Brasilia, Brasil
10 – Belo Horizonte, Brasil
13 – San Pablo, Brasil
14 – Río de Janeiro, Brasil
16 – Porto Alegre, Brasil
18 – Montevideo, Uruguay
20 – Buenos Aires, Estadio River Plate
22 – Santiago de Chile, Chile
25 – Lima, Perú

still no news of argentina's shows?
Guess I'll have to go to Uurguay then... who's coming?

I remember that, I was even younger than her (I was 8, actually) and my parents didn't let me go to the concert either...

I would like to read how he writes "Heureka"

Are there rules which state the current line up can't just show up and play?
Yes.
Are you sure about that? I can distinctly remember watching the HOF induction for Blondie in '06. Debbie Harry got to play with an entire new band over the protests of her former band-mates.
Besides, Trujillo performed with Metallica at their induction.
It's not really the same since cliff burton was kindof dead...
But on the other hand kirk hammet played instaed of mustaine.....
this is what happened with Van Halen and what will probably happen with GnR:
exiled former bandmembers Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar were the only ones present to accept the honor. Can I just say that it's absolutely pathetic, regardless of the reasons why, that less than half of one of the world's biggest-selling rock bands bothers to show up for what's designed to be a grand moment of perspective and humility in a business not known for those elements. Aside from a reference to Eddie Van Halen getting some kind of "help" for vague personal struggles, no one offered any explanation for the absence of the majority of Van Halen from Monday night's proceedings. What about Alex Van Halen? Where was David Lee Roth, who always rises to the occasion whenever a spotlight is near? Totally ridiculous, insulting, even poisonous to the spirit of the occasion.
no performance...
From my point of view it woud not be fair if Axl performs with the new guys, however I would like to see them all together revceiving the award

If they don't come to argentina I'll have to go to Brazil but this year somehow I'll see them live.

Q: What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about Axl Rose?
Sebastian: "They think that 'Chinese Democracy' is never coming out... that is #1 misconception, 'cause I've heard it... like, it exists. To me I think it has a lot more to do with the business side of it. I've heard four albums' worth of material that's incredible. So when people go 'Is it ever coming out?', I go 'Yeah! And you're ever gonna feel stupid when it does.'"
ya... sometime soon hopefully...
tell baz that I feel stupid already... I've been feeling like this since '98

I'm from Argentina. Old guns performed here in '92 and '93. Those were great performances and i think that after that show in argentina the old band never played again.
If axl plays here with his new band they would easily sold out 2 shows in a row.
Not too many bands play here, because our currency is weak, and we cannot afford expensive tickets. So, almost anyone who came would sold out. Roger Waters played a few weeks ago and he sold out two arenas (River Plate stadium - capability: 60000 ~ 70000)
I apologize for my grammar mistakes, it's been a while since the last time I wrote anything in english

bring axl's ass to Argentina and you'll see
But it happens with all foreign bands that plays in SA... we don't see them quite often, so when they play here they sold out every show...
back in the early days they played in argentina twice (92 & 93)... how many times did they play in USA?

Axl sonunded like he always does... I really didn't enjoy better and catcher, but he did an ok job the rest of the songs vocal wise.
Besides that he was in an excelent mood, I only saw 4 gnr live performances but I have to say I never saw him this happy. Do you know how he usually leaves the stage and goes to his dressing room when he's not singing? Well this time I saw him on stage a lot, he danced, played with the band and even with the crowd.
In addition, having Duff on stage was like having a beacon. I coulnd't stop looking at him, he is a magnet... he really strengthed Axl. It's hard to find words, it was moving.
In addition, they started on time (that was the biggest surprise), it didn't rain, the setlist was great and the band had an amazing performance. One of tops shows in a while.
