  1. It's funny once the album has been mastered the tracks might sound totally different.

I only really found out about mastering recently but as far as i know when recording a track, during the mixing stage it may sound full on the studio monitors and you get a good representation of what everything sounds like but when you play that mix on other systems it can sound completely different, even on high end gear.

That's where mastering comes in - it gives tracks the right balance on every player from the cheapest £20 radio up to the most expensive top of the range specialist kit. It also always tracks to sit alongside each other on album and be played on the radio without being quiter than all the other tracks. That's why most big name artists spend 10's thousands of £s on mastering.

  2. didn't bother reading the whole thread but I can't do anything but laugh at your own stupidity. You are making it much much worse by doing what you're doing. The only one doing anything wrong here is you yourself. If someone has a ticket to put on ebay now all they'll see is your fake bids and think wow, these are going for this much? I better raise my price. So good job ya dumbass

    You got that wrong.

If you put a £10,000 bid in nobody in their right mind would outbid it. This sort of bid would be done in the dying seconds and would ruin the auction.

I don't think anyone would seriously try to ruin an auction with a series of £5 bids. :rofl-lol:

  3. I can't believe anyone would stand up for a fucking tout - they are the next thing to thiefs. These bastards are too lazy to get a real job. They are not entreupeneurs, it is the most unimaginitive way to rip off the public. They do not pay tax and a lot of them are on the dole or claiming benifits.

It's like walking into a shop and there's only one of what you need on the shelf, then some scummy chav fuckhead dressed in Burberry and Hilfiger jumps in front of you cos he know's you want it, buys it then tries to sell it on to you for double the price. That wouldn't be right.. if someone did that to me I'd tell him to go fuck himself.

Most people understand the difference between right and wrong - I reckon the touts are wrong and the right thing to do is to wreck the touting business, after all they are wrecking the music business. If we don't make a stand, the next time a special gig comes up most of us will not stand a chance of going unless we earn enough money to feed these scabs.

I will not buy a ticket from a tout and I support anyone who will put these wankers out of a job, maybe then they will contribute to society by actually doing a harddays work and not leaching.

  4. Sorry folks but I agree with Kaneda on this one....

Maybe if Axl kept his core fans up to date I might think otherwise but all we've got is this:

    - Some leaked tracks from 2004 (2 of which are amazing)

    - A couple of photographs

    - Sketchy rumours of release dates which keep changing and have changed for the last 10 or so years

    - No official statement from GNR that the European gigs are going ahead - is this going to be another Axl saying he didn't agree to the tours?

    - No word on the official band line-up

Now, the tour should go ahead cos i'm sure they must've learned their lesson from last time but on weighing everything up, don't hold your breath waiting for the new album.

that song makes you bop your head up and down, its got a badass flow to it..

just need real drums on it, and its a masterpiece.

The only drum loop is on the intro. I love the drums, they are super tight. Brain is an amazing drummer.

To me the main song is obviously "played" - not a drum machine loop. I'm sure Brain sometimes uses electronic pads for extra sounds but these are "played" too not pre programmed.

  6. Arpeggios are not new to Guns N' Roses, or to most guitar-based bands, for that matter. According to dictionary.com, the definition of an arpeggio is "The sounding of the tones of a chord in rapid succession rather than simultaneously." This is the basis for most guitar solos. Granted, Bucket may be able to do this with more speed and technical proficiency than Slash, but arpeggios in GN'R have been around since Live Like A Suicide.

What Buckethead does is more than just arpeggios, it's sweep picked arpegios.. you make one sweep with right hand accross the string like playing a standard appegiated chord in one smooth motion but the left hand plays each note and deadens it immedietely after it has been struck...

  7. if you check the dates at http://www.myspace.com/soulasylumofficial you will see the dates are very close GNRs European tour... According to the website Tommy is still in Soul Asylum"

Guns N' Roses: June 29th, 2006 Roskilde, Denmark @ (Roskilde Festival

Soul Asylum: Jul 1 2006 Oneida Bingo & Casino Oneida, WI

Soul Asylum: Jul 2 2006 Summerfest Milwaukee, WI

Soul Asylum: Jul 3 2006 :Taste of Minnesota St. Paul, MN

Guns N' Roses: July 5th, 2006 Helsinki, Finland @ Hartwall Areena

Soul Asylum Jul 8 2006 Basilica of St. John's Rochester, MN

it seems like that is a hell of a lot travelling in a short space of time...

  8. Yeah I think it's Axl and the new band. I'm glad someone else has heard it.

I can't get it from my ipod also, I wouldn't want to post anything that might be classed as some sort of leak just incase a part of it is due to end up on CD. Sorry.

  9. About 4 months ago I downloaded a low audio quality new GNR track called Keep On Rising. The music is almost like The Prodigy but more rock orientated and the only vocals is Axl singing "Keep On Rising". It's pretty rocking esp. when the music stops then kicks back in.

Does anyone know any of the history behind this track?

  10. Fortus and Fink are more than capable of playing GNRs old set aswell as the new songs. I think the only reason they never played Lisbon is because of the ammount of re-arranging they'd need to do at short notice.

Buckethead is a highly creative and talented player but he's not irreplacable. Fortus or Fink are pros and I reckon they can play shred parts but in their own particular style.

I've heard people on other forums ask "would Slash be able to play the solos like the one after the first chorus in Better?". Of course he can, it's just not his style - so can Fink and Fortus. It's just a bit of sweep picking... sounds impressive but once you put the practise time in it's not that hard.

BTW Bumblefoot would not fit in GNR at all - the guy's famous for playing a fretless guitar for goodness sake!
