That not actually how it works. Frank has a click track in his in ear monitor, precisely to keep the tempo the same every night to sync with the lighting. The lighting/pyro etc are largely automated and and synced with the click track for each song. Axl has a mute on his mic that mutes him through the P.A., but allows him to speak directly to the two guys at the sound board. If you stand near the soundboard, you can hear Axl speaking to them and calling audibles. All they have to do is trigger the pre programmed software for each track. Hell, they could have a lighting and effects program for every track in the GNR catalog.

I saw the same thing at Chicago Allstate 2002. The girl was just carrying the mic and the arena staff (not even GNR crew) confiscated at the door. This is the same show where local security took away my KFC bucket durimg the entry pat down.

I'm confused. HTGTH has the date listed as 11/27 at Allstate Arena(the old rosemont horizon) and says tickets are on sale. However Ticketmasters website has no info about any GNR show in Illinois. When I called the hotline the operator told me the Illinois date was 11/22 at The Steven Wright Center and floor tickets were $150. Anybody got any info? I thought maybe they might have a different ticket distributor for this venue? HELP. Oh yeah I saw GNR at Allstate 11/18/02 and was 3rd row. Best show ever. by chance I was also sitting next to that Girl from the UK who came up missing, pretty sad. Also Earl stood right next 2 me for most of the show, and I'm pretty sure I saw Zig Zag and Josh Richman helping set up the piano. Yes they had seats in 02. Anyway I need ticket info.
