  1. I hate to say this but regarding the botox, Bach can say anything he wants...Axl's eyebrows don't lie.

One of the most notorius marks that botox leaves on your face is the round and swelled eyebrows...

I hope Axl stoped the botoxing cause its shit and obviously it was not applied on him by a good professional.

As for p surgery, either the guy that did was so good it doesnt show, or he never got one.

  2. For me mezzanine is their best work.

Anyway if u never heard of Cocteau Twins (band from the voice featured on massive attack's "tear drop") , look for them ...it's worth it if u like alternative excelent music.

  3. any fans? blue lines, mezzanine and dummy are great quality albums, another example why the 90's was one of the best decades for music.

massive attack fan --->my fav is "tear drop" great sound and great singing from elizabeth fraser (cocteau twins frontgirl)

She's still the best female vocalist i've ever heard.

  4. I have to say I thought Axl really looked and sounded like he was at the top of his game during the RIR show. I can't ever remember seeing him sing with such confidence, vocal consistency, and well-timed stage moves as he did tonight. This was definitely a different Axl from the one we saw in 2002.

His voice remained solid from start to finish - His voice didn't go into "helium" mode - which seems to happen when he gets tired or stressed - at all this evening! It was solid. *I know many people have complained about the sound of the streamed show -- but folks that's the AOL feed/mix -- NOT the way the show sounded in Lisbon.*

I thought Axl was energetic - but carefully chose his moments to run from one end of the stage to the other so that it didn't affect his vocals. (This was a far cry from RIR four years ago - when he just randomly ran around the stage through the whole show, knocking over cameramen and bumping into other bandmembers, and generally tiring his voice out). He's learned that he can be energetic and charismatic without running around during the entire show. I find the "new" Axl plays "with" his bandmates more than the old Axl: There's a chemistry there that wasn't there four years ago.

He's also clearly listened to what fans have been saying and complaining about - everything from his clothes (I counted at least three different changes of clothes - which I'm guessing is to address the whiners who started multiple threads asking if Axl owned any other clothes. ) - to the comment, where he imitated fans who were complaining that he wasn't doing any rants. Pretty funny.

Did anyone else find that he seemed genuinely - dare I say - happy out there? His moves were animated and concise, his voice solid, and nothing seemed to upset him. There was almost a cerebral calmness in his eyes, which I don't ever remember seeing before - not even at the Hammerstein shows. Awesome.

Sorry for the long rant ...

Your thoughts? Do you see a "new" Axl? One who's in top form?

Yes, my taughts exactly. He was seemed very shilled on stage, funny and above all confident. I think in the begining of the show he also said something like " Thanks for putting up with me all these years"...(please correct me if i heard wrong cause there was a lot of noise in the crow).

Everyone in my group was impressed by his voice great shape. The same thing did not happen with the guitarists, counting the fact that they are to many and there are songs that are not being played cause they are one/two (excelent) men songs, only Fortus caused a good impression ( of course he has to many distortion and that covers up possible fails). So many guitars spoil the songs, GNR needs 1 good solo guitar but none of them are suitable for the part, at least not yet. Axl is really doing some efforts to support them and getting them to be noticed and accepted but i don't think its enough. In fact they werent even able to really shine on their solos...shame tough.

In general everyone there was happy and the show was very good, but mostly because of Axl's performance, Dizzy and Brain. The crowd loved them, and Brain is much much better then Sorum, no doubt about that.

As for the sound it was cristal clear there, excelent.

I will post some pics and videos soon as i get them from my camera.

  5. I posted this before somewhere, but here it is again for those who missed it...

It's another promo (this one is only audio though) recorded after the gig on the 12th. It was originally on the RIR site, but you can only stream it, so i recorded it and here it is in mp3 format
