  1. Holy shit did I start a firestorm.

    A lesser man would fold. Here we go;

I never started this thread with "Replying to Me and my wife think Gnr is a converband and dress bad" the people who run site edited my words and posted that. THOSE ARE NOT MY WORDS.

"Me" & my wife? No. That was my wife's observation being a NOVICE when it comes to this band. She enjoyed the show very much (Who really wouldn't except a few of you psycho diehards) It was a fuckin observation people.

Me? I love the band and hope they do well. I'm no fool, I know the score... It was great to just see them play EVEN THOUGH I THOUGH IT WAS VERY UNTOGETHER!!!!!!

P.S. "Duck" was good advice!! Let it fly you fuckers!!!

    All the best

  2. I went to the show Sunday night where they played very few "New" songs. Although I thought the production of the show was very very untogether I know it was one of thier first shows and chances are they will sort it out. One guy almost got blasted by pyro the first night and the night I saw the guitar players were all over each other. Regardless I love this band and I am not a "hater".

My wife however had this interesting observation...She didn't understand why she was watching a "Cover band" play old G n R songs and in all due seriousness they still look like the friggin Village People. There's the one guy singing with about a million dollars in diamonds on, The Punk rock guy dressed in plaid, The keyboard player with dreadlocks down to his ass with his shirt off, One guitar player looks like a confederate soldier and now there is a "Bumblefoot" in the band..must I go on? I read in this forum where people are talking about the fact that this band "Finally got thier look together"? This band???? That's together? Ahhhhhhh OK.

The best stuff they played the other night was the new stuff hands down.

  3. Just got home from the show after driving 6 hours so I'm frazzled.

Spoke to Ron Thal before the show for awile. Nice guy. He was standing in the lobby by himself when I walked in with my wife. Talked about his European fans, the French in particular. He gets much love in Europe.

I saw things a little different tonight from some of the other posts I saw.

I thought the guitar players were totally untogether. No disrespect to Ron but his solo spot there went absolutely nowhere. He found his groove in "Nightrain" for sure. Robin is the mainman without a doubt. He is "Carrying the load" of the leads I thought. Rons got a few of Buckets to deal with. This is going to take a min. to sort out.

I thought it was a mess for the most part, the whole show. I did not think it was "Great". I enjoyed a lot of it no doubt but the whole show was so disjointed and erratic.

Let's call a spade a spade = It was obvious to me that this band has a very long way to go before the show gets tight. That's what these shows are for and that's what they are doing. Axl had some nice "Bling" on. Over a Mil I bet. The diamond cross he was wearing was bananas. Better not walk out into the NY night with that on boss!!

I would much rather have seen Lenny Kravitz up there then Sebastion Bach!!!

Don't hate on me, it's just my humble opinion. I'm not looking to start trouble.

    I'm "tapping out".

  4. Retards.......Times 10. Some of you people need to give it a rest.

The set list was simply awesome. Incredible.

Unbelievable call getting Ron Thal in the band. Someone did thier homework.

I'm sure there will be a reunion of the original band when they get in the Rock & Roll Hall Of fame or something like that in a few years but until then I have a suggestion......

"Have some gratitude in your attitude"

It's been a very long time and finally this band is up and running again. I'm going tonight show so expect a very coherent review.

    Thanx

  5. Chris Pittman is obviously in the band becouse Dizzy Reed plays KEYBOARDS not SAMPLES & EFFECTS, Big difference. This stuff has to come from somewhere on stage (Or in most "Older" rock bands "A little off to the side, behind the curtain") Aerosmith, Ozzy Ect. All have a "Chris Pittman" in the band. In this day and age you have to if you want to "Cover yourself" onstage.

  6. I'm doing that clinic on my own. Bumblefoot put it on the site to promote it to Bumblefoot fans, as I play Bumblefoot stuff at my clinics/demos... I've been Bfoot's drummer for 5 years now, and the fans are loyal :)

Bumblefoot & band were initially booked to play a couple of songs with me at this clinic, but this was obviously cancelled when Bumblefoot was confirmed as GnR's new guitarist.

Bfoot is doing all the shows of the upcoming GnR tour, as far as I know :)

    d.

Well there you have it, he's doing the whole tour. Thank you very much for coming on here and bringing that information to light.

I could care less about Slash being in this band, Izzy on the other hand........

  7. Well I've tried to catch up on what people have been saying, so forgive me if I repeat some things.

First, let me say that some of you so called "fans" need to jump off a bridge with that awful band Bullet for my Valentine. I can't believe that some of you are calling Bumblefoot a bad player and that he needs to go. Do you people know what rock and roll is? The guy is amazing.

Next, let me address the fans that were at the show. I realize that some of you are there to hear a good show and party and drink etc... but at least do your fucking homework if you're going to a concert that involves one of the greatest rock bands to ever grace the stage. I don't know how many times I had to hear "There's Izzy!!!", I am serious the people around me actually thought Robin, Tommy, and Richard were Izzy (depending on who you asked). Also, when Bach came out, some people actually thought HE was Izzy! I couldn't fucking believe my ears. Also, the drunken fools who kept trying to run my girlfriend over trying to get closer, a big F-you to you as well.

Now, on to my short review. I was right next to the stage, on the left-middle side. Waiting around for hours standing on my legs was really taxing my stamina. I mean when you're that close to the stage you have people practically living in your ass and they don't want to leave, so I thanked the heavens when the opening riff to Welcome to the Jungle started, but then my thankfullness was interupted by about 100 people trying to get closer to the stage. Luckily, I held them off. Some people weren't as lucky, I saw at least 4 girls passed out or nearly passed out that had to be carried away by security.

Axl was incredible, it's funny because before the show I said to myself "he should just come out in his jeans and shirt" and sure enough, out he comes in classic rocker fashion with a nice leather shirt to boot. The man has obviously been keeping fit as well, he looked fucking great. The goatee really works, he needed it. His voice was probably the best I've ever heard it live, and the rest of the band was loving every minute of it. There was so much energy, it was the best concert I've ever been to.

    A couple of funny notes...

Axl got to close to a pyro-explosion, and he gave us a little smirk saying "shit I almost fucked up on that one".

Stinsons was so into the concert, he started roaming around behind Axl at one point. This wouldn't seem strange, except that Robin stopped playing his guitar and actually grabbed Tommy's shoulders and pulled him towards his mic in a funny way. Seconds later the rain of fire came down from the top of the stage and I realized that if Stinson was where he was 5 seconds ago his head would have been toast. It was funny as hell seeing their reaction to that.

You've heard this one already, but Axl calling us all "downloading motherfuckers" got a huge reaction.

Baz coming out and doing My Michelle really just brought the concert to another level, he soaked up the crowd and pumped his fist with Brain's drumming. His voice was sounding great as well, he rocked.

And let me say just one more thing, the new Guns N' Roses are THE Guns N' Roses. They actually look like a fucking rock band. No more freaks, no more gimmicks, they all look like classic rockers. Robin's outfit had me laughing, he looked great. I couldn't believe it was him! And I agree, he looked like John Fusciataine (spelling?) And when he jumped into the crowd at the end, holy shit I had visions of Kurt Cobain all over again. Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll is back and here to stay. Play on!

If anyone has any questions about last night, ask me. I was right next to the stage

I thank the lord I'm not on the floor tonight!!!! 1st Mezz with binoculars for me without a doubt. I'm in pain just thinking about the floor of Hammersmith during a show.

  8. When I saw the first picture I thought to myself "Oh my lord they got Mike Kennelly to play guitar". A similar style no doubt but upon a closer look I was very impressed with the choice. "Yo Ron, no problem, you can TOTALLY handle this gig. I've got some news for you, the guy only needed two weeks. HE'S A PRO. I bet those European dates of his were a smokescreen and he never intended to play them. I bet he's all over the new record as well. That's what they have been doing since the last tour fell apart becouse Bucket is a transient from outer space who is just visiting our simple backward planet. They bagged a bunch of his "Alien" guitar leads for this new "Human" guy Ron Thal Aka Bumblefoot. It's pathetic to read so many people's opinions about what the guitar this guy is playing looks like. How about how the fucking thing sounds? That might have a little bit to do with why he's in the band. As far as his stage presence goes...Give the guy a fuckin break, it was his first show with Guns N Fuckin Roses fer chrissakes!!. Smart move. This guy could work out for awile. I'm looking foreward to seeing him on stage tomorrow night from the first mezz.

    It's On!!

    All the best

  9. Wow, great reviews of last nights show. Many things make sense now with this particular band. Bumblefoot was a damn good call, he can cut it. He can go "Toe to Toe" with Bucket's licks no doubt. He's a little more "Down to earth" as well with his guitar playing. Less erratic. I'm new round these parts and have enjoyed this site very much these past few days. There are a few smart people on here who are very perceptive and know what they are talking about. I almost don't feel like not getting in the car tomorrow morning and driving the 5 hours down to Hammerstien for the show. I feel like I've enjoyed the show already big time. Technology is incredible. God Bless America.

  10. From Buckethead to Bumblefoot. I'm open to the possibilities, I don't care. I'm excitied the band is back and I am fuckin sick of rap music.

Great setlist, I'm sure it will be the same tomorrow night when I'm there.

I'll post a solid review of the show as soon as I get home.
