I know this has been discussed alot inside GN'R. A couple of frieds of mine and I talked to a man who worked with the band in Norway, and he said he personally felt that touring in the US without the album beeing out there would be a huge mistake, He also said, and I qoute, "Axl is his own boss, he'll do whatever the fuck he want's"

The US tour started out selling pourly, I personally think Axl and The band realized that it was a mistake to tour without the album beeing released first. The shows scheduled this moth were posponed, could this mean that the album is scheduled to be released when the tour starts up again ? (Which is Oct. 20th, with the exeption of one show Oct. 5th)

I personally think that the tour starts up again, they do a few shows, release the album, then continue the tour.

Anyway, congratulations for this fantastic experience.

I mean come on, only four songs out of 30 are being played. Well okay, all four are played each night, but WTF, two covers (Live & Let die, KOHD) and two obvious smash hits (YCBM & November rain) and thats it?

We all know that theres so much more to "Use your Illusion"s than just those songs;

"Dont cry"(fuck the Bumblefoot "solo"), "Civil war", "Estranged", "The Garden", "Garden of eden"... the list goes on. Some of these songs could well work with the new material, and some of them would be full-on straight forward adrenaline rush rocknroll... not to mention most of them being big hits aswell...

In comparison they play 8-10 songs from "Appetite" each night, and songs like "Think about you" or "My michelle" are indeed fan favourites but hardly smash hits or songs that a wider audience would like to hear instead of say "Dont cry" or "Civil war".

The setlists during this tour have been GREAT, but not surprising at all, especially if you think what theyve played from UYIs.

Or might AXL just be afraid how the not-so-familiar UYI songs get across... But that cant be since theyre playin the new songs...

So PLEASE play MY WORLD atleast just once...

I guess Axl wants to show the world his band is an actual rock band. And AFD songs soud very actual. But UYI song are too 90' and many people thinks this kind of soud is dated or 'has been'.

what they must realise is that europe and the US are totally different markets

big bands rarely play europe which means that when they do there is a huge surge and want for them

big bands are constantly having US tours so there isn't as much urgency to see them

You ara wrong : big band such Metallica, S.O.A.D, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Motorhead or Judas Priest always play in Germany,Italy, Spain, Switzerland, France or Great Britan.

The Major difference is GNR played in smaler theaters in Europe. I was at the Paris Concert and the arena just can accept 12 000 to 15 000 fans. And there was only 1 show for France which is 65 millions of citizens.

Like in the USA, there was near zero promotion.

It was a good surprise for me to see a full arena for GNR. I wasn't expecting such a success. Futhermore, there was not only 30 years old fans. A lot os teans were there too.

in most countries they toured in europe they get little or no big bands playing there, so they do one show in a place like that with the GnR name and it sells

i feel that Axl will go into the US a bit cocky from his european success and then may find some hostility which could bring back the Axl that storms off stage

You are wrong. GNR toured in counrties like Germany, Spain or France. And the fact is every major band like Metallica, U2, Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, Megadeth or SOAD plays in those countries each time they tour.

But, I Will admit that we don't have such big arenas here in Europe.

theres many smaller/medium sized cool rock bands in the UK also that are modern/edgy and great live. No need to taint something genuine and cool with a cheesy throwback like Bach.

It's not seriuous, Chilli Peppers are now 100 time bigger than GNR. They won't open for GNR even for all the money in the world.

Radiohead is an alternative band. They wouldn't play on the same stage that GNR.

I'm not a big fan of Bullet for my Valentine, but it's a good choice. This band is appreciated by tean rockers and it could bring some new blood to GNR followers.

And Avenged Seven Fold is a real heavy metal band.

I gues AXl want to become again wha he was in th early 90's : one of the biggest rock star for teans and youg adults.

In France, radios don't play rock n' roll that much.

But we can ear GNR on many stations. Usualy, they only play 'Knokin' on heaven's doors'.

A very strange thing : In France GNR are only known for Use you Illusion 1 an 2. Only true rockers know AFD over here.

sorry, but imo newgnrs live-interpretations of the old ballads were very disappointing and the 2002 world tour wasn't really a big success (canceled shows, negative reviews). i think this was one important reason why cd was not released 2002. wouldn't it be better to release that stuff now? i think so .... i don't wanna have a 2002 deja-vu

In my opinion, if CD is not released before the summer tour, some tourdates won't be sold out. I'm French and I bought my ticket for the Paris concert. But France is fare to be the county of rock n' roll. Here, everybody forgot GNR. And the die hard fans are not enouth to fill the Paris arena. I hope this show won't be canceled...

I actually think that is why they are playing a lot of festivals. Simply because die hard fans arent enough to fill large venues - esp after the last tour. This is also why I'm not so sure they will release the album until the festivals are out of the way. They will use the festivals to gauge the response much like they did with Maddy, The Blues, CD, Silkworms and R&B. If its positive they will release the album before the solo shows start. If not, well...it doesnt bare thinking about.

I think that it's a bit weird that they put Placebo bigger than Tool for example. But it's absolutely a fantastic festival anyway - alot of great acts!

In my Country (France), Placebo is much more famous than Tool. When you ask to somebody in french streets, everybody knows Placebo. I guess Placebo is even much known than Metallica over here.

'Gods Of Metal' is in Milano, Italy. It used to be the biggest metal event in the word bihind 'Wacken Open Air' (Germany). Bands like Metallica, Motorhead, Manowar, Rhapsody play at this festival every year.

well, I gues rock n' roll is dead. GNR lost the true spirit of rock n' Roll. This letter from management is totaly gay. I guess Axl doesn't care of Slash. It seems he made some real good music without his former guitar player.

But I gues labels and record companies want Slash to come back to GNR. Cause they think what many people think : "GNR is Axl and Slash". So if they want to sell shitloads od CDs, they need Slash to be back. So I think they ar making some pressure on Axl to make him accepting Slash's return.

I gues we won't have a total reunion. But a partial reunion is possible. You know if Slash came back, the medias would say it is a reunion. Because people just know Axl and Slash.
