  1. I would not buy her album becuase i only listen to great music not mediocre but i would love to fuck her!

She has a fucking great body, toned, tight abs and nice legs; i don't give a fuck about her face.

I'd give her the best 2 1/2 minutes of my life!

  2. Garbage list.

Prince has at least 5o songs better than most of them.

Rolling stones should have more songs!

What about Hendrix; 'all along the watchtower', should have been in at least top 15.

    Kashmir, anyone?

Jamiroquai; virtual insanity should be in top 100 as well as 'deeper underground'.

I guess it's all subjective and immensely difficult but it seems the general public are ignorant as fuck and don't have a fucking clue!

  3. Hendrix was a violent skumbag but one hell of a musician.

His first three studio albums are all classics. The remasters however are the poorest i have ever heard tape hiss is horrific, especially on axis which has the loudest tape hiss ever! You will not notice this on an old crappy hi fi but if you have a new decent one you will be dissapointed with the shite ypu hear!

Band of gypsys has amazing music but buddy miles spoils it with his horrible voice/screams/screeches.

First rays is a very good album also.

the box set is very good with some suberb live numbers. Actually the sound quality on this set is much better than the albums but has slightly inferior versions.

  4. Stuff Oasis "borrowed"…

The T Rex thing is a perfect example. That riff is (when T Rex played it) a slowed down Chuck Berry guitar riff, right out of "Little Queenie," which Bolan quotes right before the fade-out ("meanwhile, I'm still thinkin'…")

1st "Street Fighting Man" lift — "The Hindu Times." Yes, I KNOW that slinky guitar line is from Stereophonics (with perhaps a little nod to ABBA's "Does Your Mother Know"), but that whole songs sounds like "Street Fighting Man" to me — the blend of acoustic/electric guitars; the beat; the big, ringing "B" chord (I think). It's "Street Fighting Man." Even the simple "boom boom boom" drum fills are similar.

"Shakermaker" — obviously. Was it the Searchers who did this before it was a Coke commercial?

And has anyone ever played Slade's "Take Me Back 'Ome" and "Some Might Say" back to back?

The riff from "Morning Glory" sounds a bit like REM's "The One I Love."

We could just go on and on…

I think I've said this somewhere on this forum before, but if you think Oasis is the only one that "borrows" to huge commercial success, try playing (for example) the Kinks' "Picture Book" and Greenday's "Warning" back-to-back. That's just one example. (and I'm not slamming Greenday, by the way)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stealography (note: some of the hints are more than vague!)

    Definitely Maybe

Shakermaker - Equal parts 'Flying' by The Beatles and the 1971 hit by The New Seekers.

'I'd like to Teach the World to Sing' (or better known as a Coke commercial).

Up In the Sky -- Similar melody to 'Rain' by the Beatles.

Columbia -- R.E.M's 'Finest Workshop' in the verse and a slight hint of Status Quo

    'Rocking All over the World'.

Supersonic -- Some say the guitar chord sequence is the same as The Smiths 'How Soon is now'.

The Solo is the same as the solo on "My sweet lord", from George Harrison

(which, on it's time, was also sued by someone else alledging that it was a ripoff.)

(mentioned before) Cigarettes & Alcohol -- 'Get it On' by T-Rex. 'This Song' by George Harrison: similar beginning

Slide Away -- Titled pinched from a song off the first Verve album (A Song in the Heaven).

Also been compared to 'Cortez the Killer' by Neil Young.

Married with Children - Apparently, the chords are the same as 'Lithium' by Nirvana.

Sad Song - Title taken from The Beatles, 'Hey Jude' (*Sonic's note* although The Beatles didn't

    coin the phrase Sad Song...)

Whatever -- Neil Innes: How Sweet To Be An Idiot. Beatles: Day In The Life & All You Need Is Love (cello lines)

Monty Python: The Idiot Song. David Bowie/Mott The Hopple: All The Young Dudes.

    (What's the Story) Morning Glory?

Hello -- Gary Glitter 'Hello Hello I'm back again' and obviously the guitar intro is 'Wonderwall'.

Also musical similarity to 'Medicine Jar' by the Wings.

Wonderwall -- The title taken from George Harrison. 'Homesick' by The Cure (similar piano part)

Don't Look Back in Anger -- Piano intro is 'Imagine' by John Lennon. In the end of the song

there's a guitar doing the melody line for David Bowie's 'All The Young Dudes'.

Here's a Noel quote on people's reactions to Oasis using that piano bit on the song:

    Quote:

"I suppose 50% of that (stealing from the Beatles) is in there to wind people up and the other

50% of it is saying look, this is how songs like 'Don't Look Back in Anger' come about is because

of songs like 'Imagine'. It's also for the 15 year old who's never heard Imagine and he might go

Imagine? I've never heard of that and he might go out and buy the album."

Hey Now -- Stone Roses, 'I wanna be adored'

Swamp Song - Canned Heat's 'On the Road Again'.

Some Might Say -- 'Ohh La La' by the Small Faces. chords similar to "Cigarettes & alcohol"

She's Electric -- Refrain is taken from British TV program 'You and Me'. The vocal harmony on

the end echoes from The Beatles' 'With a Little Help from My Friends'

Morning Glory -- the same chords as R.E.M's 'The One I love', beginning similar to "Soul To Squeeze" from RHCP

Champagne Supernova -- similar guitar solo as 'Bring It On Home' by Led Zeppelin

    Be Here Now

D'You Know What I Mean? -- Oasis rips themselves off on this one using the same chords as

    'Wonderwall'.

Magic Pie -- 'Cry Baby Cry' by The Beatles

Stand By Me -- Chorus melody is Mott the Hopple's (Bowie) 'All the Young Dudes'

The Girl In The Dirty Shirt -- 'Cry Baby Cry' by The Beatles. 'Heart Of Stone' by Neil YOung (similar intro)

Don't Go Away -- similar intro as in 'One' by U2.

All Around the World -- The ending is similiar to The Beatles' 'Hey Jude'

    The Masterplan

Acquiesce -- same vocal meldody as in the verses of 'I Only Want To Be With You' by Dusty Springfield.

Underneath The Sky -- Blondie: Call Me - The Kinks: ...Street

Talk Tonight -- Nirvana: 'On a Plain' inspired lyrics 'Sleeping on a plane, you know you can't complain/

    I'm on a plain, I can't complain'.

Going Nowhere -- 'Comfortably Numb' by Pink Floyd has the same pre-chorus (bridge) melody.

Fade Away -- 'Pretty Vacant' by the Sex Pistols. Wham: 'Freedom'- Part of the melody is the same

Half the World Away -- The chords are the same as 'This Guys in Love with You' by Burt Bacharach,

    only Noel plays them backwards.

Headshrinker -- The Small Faces 'Stay With Me' !!

The Masterplan -- Taurus: 'Spirit' (note Led Zeppelins Stairway To Heaven was based on this song)

    SOTSOG

Fuckin In The Bushes -- 'Little Miss Lover' by Jimi Hendrix: drum intro is direct borrow. 'The Knock On Effect'

by U.N.K.L.E. (note: Noel plays lead guitar on this song)

Go Let it Out -- similar mellotron on 'Strawberry Fields Forever' The Beatles.

'Book of Rules' by Bob Weir & The Midnites: a blatant lift of the lyrics

'Walk On Gilded Splinters' by Duane Allman & Johnny Jenkins: Jenkins is co-credited

Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is -- The Doors, 'Roadhouse Blues'

(both the resemblance in lyrics, vocal line and music)

Little James -- vocal melody similar to 'More Than Us' by Travis

Gas Panic ! -- 'When The Levee Breaks' - Led Zeppelin: Noel said this has a heavy Led Zeppelin feel to it

'Sunflower' - Paul Weller: chorus melody is similar. 'Pictures Of Lily' - The Who: music is uncannily similar

Where Did It All Go Wrong? -- 'Sunflower' by Paul Weller

Roll It Over -- 'Live And Let Die' - Paul McCartney: pre-chorus melody is similar

    Heathen Chemistry

uncannily alike. 'Love Spreads' - The Stone Roses: music is similar

The Cage -- Black Sabbath - 'War Pigs': similar music

    Don't Believe The Truth

Turn Up The Sun -- intro from the movie Midnight Cowboy

Mucky Fingers -- "Waiting For My Man" by Velvet Underground.

The Meaning Of Soul -- shares vocals with Rolling Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash"

Part Of The Queue -- "Golden Brown" by The Stranglers.

    Scorpio Rising - Death In Vegas -- 'Pictures Of Matchstick Men' - Status Quo: based around on this song;

    Status Quo is co-credited.

i FOUND THIS THEN CHECKED EVERY SONG! I downloaded all the songs, put them on windows media player and compared the original to oasis. As a huge oasis fan i have to say i'm very dissapointed how unoriginal they are. i know everyone takes inspiration and ideas from certain songs BUT GOD DAMN THIS IS OBSURD. Nearly every song on every album takes something from someone else! They are worse than Zeppelin.

  5. Not a big Oasis fan but what happened in germany with him a few years back made me laugh, how many teeth did he lose to a german estate agent (2 or 3?), hardnut my arse <_< , just to add to this topic i find Liam pretty annoying but Noel can be pretty funny, he's come out with some classic stuff over the years and deserves nearly all the credit for Oasis' success, from what i heard from their last album Oasis are badly on a downward spiral as the three singles from that record were the worst songs i'd ever heard of theirs, Let there be love was awful and so so weak...

    Give me Blur any day.

For the right price even christ can get it

Even Mike Tyson was knocked out at his peak; so that means jack shit; however Liam dserves a good kicking!

  6. I have read a great deal about Hendrix and I have never heard about this. Of course it is possible, but I highly doubt it given Jimi's seemingly peaceful vibe. I would have to know about the author of the book and their past work in order to judge their credibility. It is quite possible that the author is just trying to make a quick buck.

Whether it's true or not I will never stop listening to the music. I know some would argue the point but in my opinion he was the greatest rock guitarist that ever lived and I doubt there will ever be anyone in the same league as him.

If we judged all music by the actions of the artist, there would be very little worth listening too. I still listen to Axl despite the allegations that he has abused women and I assume that you do as well or you wouldn't be on this forum.

If I got on here and started saying Axl anally raped Stephenie-which she has claimed-I would get bashed by everyone here, so don't start slandering a legend like Jimi based on what you read in some book.

The author spent four years interviewing over 300 people who knew Hendrix very well; including his first girlfriend, other girlfriends, many friends, family and those who were with him on a daily basis.

The author (Charles R.Cross) has been an Hendrix fan for decades and even visted his grave in the eighties! He was shocked at what he found out from multiple independant and reliable sources.

There is at least HALF A DOZEN books that mention Dozens of violent incidents; many people witnessed these scenes of violence; including noel and mitch. Noel mentions this in his book + their are diary account written in the sixties and seventies(1970) that talk about Jimi hitting women and other boyfriends of these woman were told of how vicious and evil Hendrix was. So it is not just a case of people writing books thirty years later with juicy gossip.

I'd just thought i'd express reality because i'm sick of idiots worshipping people they nothing about and saying 'he was such a great guy'; many people HAVE SAID THIS ABOUT SERIAL KILLERS; SO WHAT ANYONE CAN BE NICE SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T CHANGE WHAT THEY HAVE DONE!

I'm not saying i don't like his music becuase i bought every album before i started reading up on Jimi; however it's not the same knowing he preached peace in his music yet beat the shit out of innocent women.

p.s YES AXL IS A RAPIST! no doubt about it; i would bet my mother's life he would fail a lie detector test!

    I bought all G 'N R music before i found this out!

DAMN YOU INTERNET; YOU'VE RUINED MY MUSIC LISTENING EXPERIENCE; DDDDDDDDDDDIIIIIIIEEEE!!!!!!!! :anger::fuckyou::fuckyou::fuckyou::fuckyou:

  7. nice and humble, people say?

sorry but i have to say ;WRONG!

Read one of the many books about him and read 'room full of mirrors; i

i've just read it all; very shocking. Half of it talks about his childhood and parents.

    It doesn't focus on the bad of jimi alot but mentions some horrific things;

jimi beat the mother of his first suspected child with a belt while she was pregnant!

Jimi twice smashed a vodka bottle in his girlfriend carmen's face; she had to go to emergency room on both occasions. The first time the docs thought she was gonna lose her eye!

He beat kathy with a phone becuase he thought she was ringing a guy!

These violents incidents happened frequently. Shocking because Jimi is portrayed as a nice, gentle, hippy who just happened to get caught up with drugs.

  8. My top 5

    StationtoStation

    Hunky Dory

    Man Who Sold the World

    Low

    Aladdin Sane

    Genius artists. NOne better

I would disagree; Prince shits on bowie in every single way.

Sign O The Times is so dated. Bowie is timeless. Plus Bowie was more influential, ever changing, charismatic.

^^^nO IT DOESN'T. The music on that album is beyond great; the mastering however is horrible!

    Listen to 1999

    purple rain

    gold experience

    rainbow children

    dirty mind

    controversy

    lovessymbol

    Bowie's till good though.

    .

    Killing Floor by Howlin' Wolf

A.K.A the song that Led Zeppelin ripped off for the lemon song.

    hardly.

    Study up Volitan, wrong answer.

Nothing is similar about the two songs, except the bridge has a small similarity to Killing Floor's riff. And the lyrics are "kinda" similar. But I don't think Willie Dixon even wrote that song. He probly ripped it off someone else.

    No.

Either you are in denial or you haven't heard the original.

And everything Willie Dixon wrote was original, you obviously don't know shit about the Blues, seeing as he was it's greatest songwriter.

I have heard and played the original live. To say I don't know anything about blues music is just dumb. You don't know me so there's no way to know that. Just because Willie Dixon wrote most the songs, doesn't make him the greatest. I like RJ and Lightnin' Hopkins a lot more than Dixon.

    '

Yes i have to say Zeppelin ripped 'killing floor' off. The 'lemon song' is a cover; not an original!

  10. You seriously need to get real and do some research to find out what happened.

No amount of research will ever tell us what happened. It's Erin's word against Axl's word, and none of us know for sure which is the truth.

    I wasn't talking about that!

I was taking about what Axl used to do on the road(EYEWITNESSES)!

PLUS; it wasn't just Erin's word against Axl's; Slash and his girlfriend BOTH SAW IT! There is copies of the statement Slash's girlfriend made in the civil trial!

Axl spat on erin, threw a t.v at her and beat and kicked her with his cowboy boots on. Slash told his girlfriend not to get involved saying 'you'll make it worse'.

I lost all respect for Slash after this!

  11. the thread starter said 'HOW OUT OF CONTROL WERE THEY'!

if you want to talk about 'the road'; let's talk about how AXL used to beat the shit out of fans, prostitutes, et.c.

You seriously need to get real and do some research to find out what happened.

Search amazon.com; there is a great book which documents this!

Let's not argue man; i have nothing against you.

  12. Let's compare the 2 giants of the 80's, Gn'R and Motley Crue < Thread title is right here ;)

    Exactly!

So we compare the bands on a musical level and on how they both lived the Rock N' Roll lifestyle not about Axl and his personal issues because how is that comparing two giants of the 80's.

The 'rock 'n roll lifestyle' is their personal lives. Lifestyle; get it?
