  1. What does being an Axl Nutter mean?

I thought it was a juvenile sexual insult towards people who are Axl and GnR fans. Meaning you had axls nuts in your mouth, so u couldn't speak anything bad about him.

But seeing how this is a GnR forum, certainly the mods would ban clowns who used that kind of vulgar sexual insult against Axl, GnR and their fans.....on a GnR forum. It couldn't really be that.....I could imagine that being said in a junior high forum, but certainly not by adults.

Imagine going to Chevy.com and insulting people who love Chevy vehicles. But that goes on here.

I enjoy critical debate about Axl and the band, and would hate to see this place turn into htgth. But I'm amazed at the amount of negativity that is allowed on here some times.

So anyway, can somebody explain what it means to be an Axl Nutter?

Nut swinger, ass kisser, yes man... of course, if you couldn't figure this out on your own after over 3000 posts,

going to Chevy.com ....Sounds idiotic, right?
    yep.

But you are forgetting that this is a GnR forum, not an Axl forum. Chevy makes Escalade (well GM does but you get the drift, or not I suppose) , and it makes the Volt, and a whole bunch of shit in between. Yeah, I can "Imagine" going to a chevy forum and bitching about something that GM makes. What was the point? We are all here because we want to see GnR be what we think it should live up to be. Maybe some of us have lower expectations than others.

  2. It would just be weird seeing a 50 year old routinely act like an angry teenager every time they perform.

I'd just like to see Axl try to hold a candle to Phil Anselmo. The last rockstar frontman...Got anyone better.

And enough with the age shit... Seriously.

  3. Ok, my response to your post OP and my response to my post...

It certainly does seem that Axl is doing exactly what you say so in that aspect I agree, however, Axl could have done all of this without basically disbanding the biggest band in the world and taking it upon himself as the last man standing to make GnR progress. It has not happened, and that is solely at Axl's feet. Axl claimed that Slash was content to keep doing what the band was doing, seems like Duff and everyone else was too. Axl was the one who was not content, it seems. He wanted more! (in a good way, is how I took it). The way I see it is he can either let the band totally fade away and admit defeat, and be ok with that (of course, he'd never admit defeat, so the OP is kinda, in my opinion, giving him an out that he hasn't asked for) which is what seems to be happening, or he can bring it back to the top. With the state of music as it is nowadays, the naysayers and the hopefuls are still waiting. We haven't given up. Axl has three legit choices at this point, in my opinion of course, because that's all this stuff really is:

    1. Do something really awesome as GnR that proves he was right all along>
    2. Big fat reunion tour (pretty much admit defeat)
    3. Fade further away into obscurity

There is a fourth option that almost everyone else besides Axl would be fine with, aside from him of course, and that is an original Axl band.

Right now, even for the ChiDem fans this all seems like a nostalgia act. Is Axl putting on good shows? Yeah, aside from some early missteps I guess, but is anything being blown outta the park really? I mean, the most exciting new things are playing an "Old Gnr" (his words) song, and a second AC/DC cover. The new band is stepping up, but is Axl? You decide.

I don't know how the legal setbacks come into play. It's all conjecture. I Like at least half of Chinese Democracy. I liked the musical direction. I don't want a reunion. I don't want to see GnR/Axl fade away. And I don't wanna see a cover band. However, if what we have seen so far is Axl's vision... I'm a little disappointed.

  4. Fine then, but why not just do smaller shows. Don't put on a big fucking production and fail with it. If ya wanna be fuckin' low key. Do low key shit. Wanna do a bunch of ACDC covers, tour as Axl Rose and co. doing ACDC covers. The Biggest flaw in your whole theory is that Axl is doing this all under the name of what was at one time the biggest fucking band in the world.

Nobody is stopping him from that. Problem is he went out there and said he wanted to make Guns 'n Roses something more! Nobody made him do that. If he wants to be more low key, nobody is stopping him. Don't get me wrong, I was rooting for him (now I'm just kinda hoping I'll be surprised without actually rooting).

I don't know the ins and outs of it all by any means. Legalities aside, because for those issues, all we can do is guess. I'm just saying, Axl is trying to have it both ways... He wants to say that he is the last man standing for GnR, but clearly, and sadly, and nothing to do with anyone other than Axl himself (so far as I know, it's not like he has provided some counter-argument), current or past members aside, he is basically the only thing holding guns n roses down. Which is sad. Because he really could have been, and may still could be, the only thing to bring it back up. I'm at a loss as to how at this point so where I know where the OP was trying to go, I think he is mistaken. Yes, not everyone was going to accept the new GnR, but it still could have been something. It didn't happen. The new new GnR while fucking awesome, do not hold a candle to what GnR was. It has little to do with the new members. Is Axl content with this? Fuckin' maybe. He seems to be. Are we as fans? I'm not. I'm still fucking waiting for Axl to make it happen again. I was all there with CD. I was ready for the new direction.

Do I believe Axl was the dude who fucking drove GnR to the top? Fuck yeah!!! No where have I ever seen Axl say that GnR was too fucking big and he didn't want to deal with the pressure of being a huge success. His fans are still fucking waiting to be able to proclaim that Axl is still the fucking last real rock star. Perhaps we can still say that. But that was old Axl. If he don't wanna be, just fuckin' say it. "We're taking it low key now. Here's the new band, here are our new songs, here are some classics you might remember." Don't try to pull off huge fucking tours if you don't really feel like it.

Hey, weather sucks? Shit not going right? Don't get all pissy like a bitch, just fuckin' tell the fans... " hey, shit ain't fucking going like we planned, but we gonna make do biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch!!!!!"

There are two fucking types of fans , er , three i guess. Three...

    1. The Axl can do no wrong and this is clearly what guns n roses was meant to be ....people
    2. The "Axl needs slash and duff and either the original lineup or use your illusion lineup" people
    3. Or the people like me who are pretty much ok with Axl being the last man standing because he says he can fucking do it....people. (cd great fine, still waiting n shit cuz these aint the guys who made it with ya)

I still think he could, but I'm not really seeing it yet. I'm not seeing anything groundbreaking or anything worth not working with other members of the band. I don't doubt he was the driving force. Both to the top, and to wherever the fuck it is going now. I'm still fucking waiting. Luckily, I have other shit to keep me occupied, as does Axl apparently :)

  5. Damn blabbermouth jumps onto this, what about the time Axl was at the airport in Japan signing for the fans and posing for photos. Don't think they would bother 'reporting' that. Whatever it was, it was a personal circumstance, unfortunately captured by a fan on video.

That's what it looks like to me. Shit, it isn't like he is being mobbed by a fuckload of fans and is any sort of danger. He clearly has no problem getting out of the car and entering the building.

  6. I dunno. Whatever but why would you jump out of a car to yell at someone outside of a car to get the fuck away from you? It may be the consensus, but I don't buy it. I clearly hear someone inside the car yell "fuck you" first. Maybe it's Axl cuz he is still sorta inside the car ... but that's my impression. Either way, it's not like anyone will ever find out. Carry on.

  7. The uploader explains it all in Spanish under the youtube video, translations?

Then the car went to the main entrance of the airport. The security that we pushed for us to come and they could leave ... But it took all so much and became so dense that Axl got mad and ended all alone down the car ... That's what happened, nothing serious. It is known as bipolar Axl, and if the situation seemed to me funny. It was fun lol.

    MichelleHeartless 8 minutes ago

    I explain the situation:

Axl got in his car to the airport in Rosario, to take his private jet. The problem was that it had enabled the door by which he was to enter in particular, in addition to crying and histeriqueo a couple who always have to ruin things. I do not think the car had gone down ... But at least it would have been angry as well, since at first greeted him through the car and laughed a lot. Then the situation began to become angry ...

    well, that's the translation...

    beat me

  8. The driver/passanger/fan is not opening the door for anyone, as it is clear he stands right in front of where the passenger would be trying to get out from. If you open the door for someone you walk back with the door, he does not do this. My guess is it is a fan asking for an autograph...

someone from inside the car yells "fuck you" then axl yells "get the fuck away from me you fuckin' idiont"... doesn't seem like he is yelling at the dude opening door, just slamming door and yelling at whoever is still in car... since front door is still open.

  9. Stupid post. Never seen any good half time shows at the superbowl. Why not invent a post about axl singing the national anthem... Still be stupid. but more realistic than him getting onstage with Slash. Give this shit a rest... Fuckers.

  10. This list should made up of nothing but Slayer albums...

hahaha... I love thrash, and most thrash bands credit Slayer, but I can't stand Slayer. Dunno why.

I agree with most sentiments of this thread though. Guns n' Roses was like a "Glam" metal band that kinda ditched the Glam (thankfully), but you can't fucking call Chinese Democracy a Heavy Metal album in 2008. Even if you did consider Appetite to be heavy metal at the time... nothing afterward was.

  11. doubt you need them. You can still get pit tix for hartford.

    quoted wrong person. oops

Nice Worcester on a Friiday night only 15 minutes from my house so I might even be able to get a baby sitter and go...

Any idea on passwords for presale?

  12. is the list that includes worcester ma real in anyones opinion. My cash is short but pit tix are still available in Hartford, which I'd prefer of course (I assume in worcester it would be at dcu center).

edit, I'd prefer pit tix, but I'd prefer worcester and a week extra to buy a ticket

  13. decided to watch spartacus. should i start with the prequel gods of the arena or start with blood and sand?

I watched blood and sand first episode and for some reason followed that with gods of the arena before finishing the original series. Both are fucking good. Really good. Sadly the star of blood and sand Andy Whitfield passed away this week. I look forward to the next season where he will be replaced. But he was fucking incredible. Great series. Start with Gods of the Arena. Blood and Sand is superior, imo, and was only made so Andy could undergo treatment for his cancer, but both are good.

Gods of the Arena is a prequel, but it is the kind of prequel that will actually make you appreciate Blood and Sand more. Not sure if I've ever experienced that.

  14. Do you think
    Nu
Guns will eventually become a band that can stand on their own?

Guess it all depends on Axl. He seems to own guns but can't keep a fucking band around. Nu Nu guns doesn't have anything new, Original guns is not coming back. Nu Nu guns can't stand on their own unless Nu Nu guns has "something of their own" to stand on. Atlas shrugged, the general. No idea what they are, but even if I hear them they are "nu" guns songs. So even then... who the fuck knows. Oh my god was good, Better was awesome, madagascar was awesome. There was a time was really awesome. These are all my stupid opinions. Whatever though. Maybe dj ashba with axl song is awesome like Sebastian says. wtf do I know. People like Lady gaga and Kanye west... clearly, I'm missing something. I've heard all of the original GnR stuff and I like it, Ive heard the stuff (cd, nothing else) Axl did with everyone else afterwards as GnR, and, I pretty much like it... I mean, I could do without a few songs off of every gnr album. Out ta get me, Nice boys, My world, half the cover songs off of Spaghetti, half the stuff from Chinese democracy... crap, some other shit too probably. I heard "Better" on the radio the other day and it was great. Sure, sometimes on my mp3 player I may skip certain songs by any artists that I love, but the fact is, I'll change the channel on anything from afd. Appetite is legendary, as is YCBM, and November Rain, but hearing something from CD on the radio makes me feel good. It isnt overplayed. Maybe a good thing.

edit... as for Oh My God being "good", it was surprising and different, and while I wont listen over and over again, I won't skip it either.

  15. Well that was almost epic. I want my 3 minutes back.

Nah just playin, I dug the montage... although the meaning or purpose of this is eluding me. You high falutin gnr fans with your estranged and your epic profound youtube vids.

fuck, glad I skipped through shit to only have to say i want my 40 seconds back. including time to type this

  16. I don't know... Just the way he plays and his equipment sounds off.

Chinese intro is one of the best examples. Ashba doesn't have the pauses and hard slams.

The reason is simple : Ashba is playing to the intro backtrack ( which wasn't there entirely during the 2006 shows, it would stop right before Robin's part. Now the whole song tempo is dictated by the beginning )...The chinese blabbering etc that are synched with the screens.

He can't have the long pauses, he has to stay in rythm with the click only the band hears otherwise the backtrack ends before he's done with the riff...

I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the millisecond long pauses he does in the riffs, which are part of the riff. Ashba doesn't "play" those.

Do any of the new fucking people really matter? I mean, they are covering music that they didn't fucking write. Personally, I loved finck and bucket not because of how they covered older songs, but because of how they helped write the new songs (mayhap some of you liked axl's new bandmates because of previous shit that they actually participated in making, that's cool). Shit, if by some chance frank and ashba and bumblefoot and who the fuck ever else write some new songs with axl under the moniker of "Guns 'n Roses" and I like those songs, then I will give them credit for something useful, but at this point... search fucking youtube and look at the schmucks who post videos of themselves playing/singing new gnr shit. aside from "well done" who gives a shit about them? Oh you are the dude who sings like axl? Or plays like slash? Or drums like ... any fuck who plays drums...? Only thing I like about DJ Ashba at this point is that he wants to do NEW stuff with GnR. Until that happens, anything outside of that and actually doing new stuff is shit to me.

and second edit... current band members can rip the old shit up all they want. Axl is the only guy whose input into that shit that I love matters. They can put their own spin. Fine by me. Why not. Don't try to duplicate the dude who wrote it. That would be sad.

  17. Let's face it. If they weren't associated with axl, most of us wouldn't give a shit. By proxy, if the shit they are doing has nothing to do with axl singing... I really don't give a shit about them. I mean, damn, if ya really give a shit about what these dudes are doing outside of Guns n' Roses, more power to you. But this has been said a million times. Funny cuz these band members (aside from ashba who I also don't give a shit about) almost get mad (or seem to sometimes) about the FACT that the main reason they have any fans is because they are in "gnr". When Axl does a side project that isn't gnr, I'll care about it... unless he isn't singing.

  18. I don't really think it matters for a couple of reasons.

First, the general populace already had a peak at this new iteration of GNR and for the most part they passed. It's unfortunate because I think Chinese Democracy was a great album, but for most, it didn't live up to the hype or expectations. Releasing a second album isn't likely going to give the average fan or outsider any reason to return unless it's mindblowingly amazing. GNR would have to release a Sweet Child O' Mine, Welcome to the Jungle, November Rain caliber song to get non-fans interested and excited.

Second, if the original band were to ever regroup it would negate any delays between album releases. There will always be an appetite for the band that rose to fame in the late 80s. I'm not one to advocate that this needs to happen, but it is an obvious avenue to relevance if Axl and his former bandmates still cared to be one of the biggest bands in the world again.

The only people Axl may lose by not releasing new material in a reasonable time frame are those who frequent forums and the like. But then again, if you've stuck around this long, you're likely not going anywhere.

So no, GNR can do as they please and it will have little or no affect on album sales, ticket sales, or forum posts.

    Cheers,

    Andrew

Yeah, good post. I wanna hear some new shit from axl, and so does anybody else here. It's all gaga and beiber now whatever the fuck that shit is. Axl only hangs on to his legendary status by doing nothing new. I'm won over already, but gnr getting new fans and keeping the old, almost impossible. Get the new music out axl, or don't. All your work for nobody to hear? makes me sad. The only thing we have to fear is...
