  2. dude you ask way to may questions here...

maybe you should take a second an think about it

    and you'll get your answers.

and the one with osama, man, that's the stupid ever.

to celebrate one's man death is wrong in any way,

or wait, were din isus did that? in which movie did he celebrate the death of somebody?

or wait, aren't all religions about celebrating LIFE?

but, there goes to show, that USA is a sick being, killer.

it's money driven, you know there is a saying that money are the eyes of the devil.

and what USA is most about is a culture of death.

I mean com'on to get in the streets to flag your shity flags because one man got killed?

alas, you are who you are,

and as Axl put it -

all the love in the world couldn't save you

all the innocence inside (more like stupidity).

yeap God bless America, 'cause the devil is running it.

Have you lost your senses? Who the HELL are you to talk such trash about my country? You are evidently an unlearned shithead that needs to get his head out of his ass. "shity flags"? At the very least, if you're going to try to make such a feeble attempt at being a total asshole, then you should do yourself a favor and learn to spell.

"or wait, were din isus did that?"

What does that mean???? Personally, I didn't wave my flag around to celebrate the terrorist's death. But I am free to do so if I please. I also understand why some people would... if someone you knew was killed by some radical Koran thumping extreme Muslims, I would imagine that you would feel at least somewhat relieved that the guy who put the plan into action was dead.

You should crawl back up into the friggin shithole that you came from and shut your piehole. I don't give two shits where you are from but you can damn well guarantee that if you or wherever you are from needed help, the United States would be the first to give you aid. SHITHEAD!

  3. For the mods to delete a 50-some page thread that had grown in less than 24 hours, is really disgusting. I realize that the thread will be "cleaned" or "censored" so there is no need to repost the link. I rarely ever post here but Im here several times a day. This type of behavior of the mods really makes me sick.

We sustained ourselves via rumor for years while waiting on Chinese Democracy.... and just now, all of a sudden, a rumor that is not so far out in left field is shot down. Please, just give me a break. Some of us might have been born at night, but it wasnt last night.

Plus the fact that Bumblefoot posted in the topic.... he started a little rough but he was just defending himself. Eventually, it got to the point of him actually having a decent time... (I hope.) My whole reason of posting this today is to let the mods know that I am not at all happy with how this has gone down.

  4. After speaking with that guy Richard French via the radio station, it just seemed that the only real reason that GNR would not get into the Hall of Fame would boil down to pure politics. The President of the Hall of Fame himself said that the band put out great music and were, at the time, the biggest and most influential band in the world. The guy even conceded the fact that politics played a large factor in who gets inducted. I wish I had recorded the segment but I was in the car and on my cellphone at the time.

I think most would agree that based purely on the music, GNR should be inducted. Leave out all of the politics and BS, and induct the band and whoever shows up for the awards banquet feed em some good food and drinks and move on.

  5. First of all, Im not looking to get flamed. I am ONLY passing along some interesting information.

A few minutes ago I was listening to a talk radio station and the station had Richard French (President and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame) as a guest via phone call. They were taking questions about the Hall of Fame. Somebody called in and asked about the band Phish and there were a couple of other bands being inquired about. So I called in and asked the guy what he thought about Guns.

He thanked me for calling etc and then told me that it was a great question. (This was all on the radio with about a 5 second delay). He said that the board has discussed Guns and just by the tone of his voice, I could tell it was not favorable. He said that the band did not have a huge amount of records but that they were huge in the late 80's and early 90's. He went on to say that the band was bigger than the Rolling Stones and Metallica at the time and that their music was powerful. After that, he said that it was his opinion that some of the things that would hurt Guns was Axl Rose. He went on about how Axl has burnt producers and some behavior issues etc. Then went on to say that Slash has "Given so much to rock and roll." He never would commit one way or the other as to his exact opinion as to whether or not Guns would ever get inducted.

My opinion is that Guns did things their own way and changed Rock and Roll all by themselves.... Precisely why they should be inducted.

  6. We have just one person in the whole wide world with a single guess. And we have all of this talk about a possible date. I have to admit that it fits perfectly into the scheme of things. Its not like we have this one square block and trying to stick it into a round hole... it fits. I am sure I am not alone when I think to myself "I wish we had more sources for this information."

Its a shame that most of this thread was sorta hi-jacked by various subjects because it makes it very tough for folks that are coming along after-the-fact to catch up.

This could be the real deal. Hell, I sincerely hope that it is!! IM EXCITED! woooo! It would really be awesome to get this confirmed.

If at all possible, can we stay on topic? It would be appreciated by lots of people. Maybe the mods could clean it up a little too?

  7. Ive been frequently monitoring this forum for a couple of years and then finally joined up earlier this year... right about the time GNR started touring in Europe. So I had been keeping up with the different shows "accross the big pond." So I was driving to work one day while listening to the radio and the DJ said that there would be a "huge" concert announcement at 5:00 pm. I remember thinking to myself.. "no way will this be Guns N Roses." But I tuned in to the station anyway (I think it was September 15th.) Sure enough it was when I first heard that Guns were heading to Greensboro. I immediately called two of my buds from high school and it was ON! The planning had begun.

Fast forward through many phone calls and emails regarding the concert to Nov 2nd...

My pals and I met at the local Hooters and we ate wings, drank gallons of beer and got primed up for the concert. Man, I had been waiting for that it seemed like for years. (I guess it was years since it was my first Guns concert.)

About 8:00, we make our way towards the arena. I bought a T-shirt before we took our seats. I bought the star with the circle around it. We got there just as Baz was about to finish up so I cant comment on his whole set or anything. I will say that he was screaming and that the crowd seemed to enjoy it for the part that I saw.

Next up was Papa Roach. I wasnt expecting a lot from them really. They seemed angry about most everything in life so they basically screamed their songs. Papa Roach were energetic and not bad. Basically, they were much much better than I had guessed they would be. I cant say that I did not enjoy their music because I did. They surprised me with their talent.

Between Papa Roach and Guns there was a little waiting time. It went by fairly quick to me even though it was over an hour wait I think. (I was there to have fun and cut up..not watch a clock.) It was great to watch the crowd get rowdy... and the later it got, the more rowdy the crowd seemed to be. Concessions had to quit selling beer because of all the fights in the crowd. I saw at least 4 or 5 fights where the cops had to carry people out (Im sure there were more.) One overly drunk guy was standing in GA with his chick and they were both "knee walking drunk". I remember his girl friend had a jersey on with the name ROSE and 08 as the numbers. My crew was laughing at them because they were drunkingly swaying back and forth. (no music at the time because this was before Guns came on). Anyhoo, a few minutes later I saw fists and elbows being thrown... sure enough it was the Overly Drunk Duo mentioned above. HAHA.. The guy's chick jumped into the fight and got her ass kicked too. She lost a gob of hair before the cops came up and hauled both of em off. LMAO too funny.

Just to set things right.. the fights had nothing to do with Guns or the amount of time taken in between the bands. I think they were just being stupid. The general attitude of the crowd was happy to be there and ready to have a great time. Only about 3 seconds worth of boo-ing from the crowd because of the wait in between Papa Roach and Guns.

Then the lights went out... And we hear the opening notes of Jungle. The crowd, although not sold out, was cheering loud enough to bring the roof down over us... and just when I didnt think think the crowd could be any more worked up... Axl struts out and SCREECHES the words we all wanted to hear. The crowd just got 100 times louder. "Welcome to the Jungle" was loud, obnoxious, and awesome. Just the way it was supposed to be.

Guns tore through the first 4 or 5 songs. Jungle, Its So Easy, Mr. Brownstone, Live and Let die. Knockin On Heaven's door. All were top notch. It was tremendous.

One of my highlights was Knockin on Heavens door. Sure its a cover, but its been almost an anthem for my friends and me. At one point, I looked over at one of my pals and asked him "dude, do you know how long Ive waited to hear this?" He just nodded and smiled.

After KOHD, the band played "Better." The crowd enjoyed it. Even though not many folks knew the words, the crowd was into it more than I had guessed that they would be. It was awesome live.

A little jam together after that. I think at this point was when Axl introduced the rest of the band. I had been wondering if he was actually going to introduce them because up until that night, it had been done a little earlier in the shows.

"Sweet Child" and "You could be Mine" were next and they were both incredible. At some points, the band overpowered the vocals a little bit but it was not overly bad and was mostly corrected. Still going strong. Axl was running everywhere and really seemed like he was having a great time. If I had to sum up the entire concert with one word I guess I would have to use the word Powerful.

They rolled out the piano and I was expecting November Rain but Dizzy played a great piano solo.. It really showed off his chops.

At some point the Christina Aguilara song Beautiful was played as the dueling Guitar Solo.. Ive read the forums and I was expecting to be burnt out by all the solos but it never happened. I think Guns knows exactly what they are doing when Axl leaves the stage and lets the rest of the band get some spotlight too. They are all excellent musicians and they deserve to get some recognition. Awesome solos by everyone. Even though its hard to rock hard to the guitar solos... I think they were needed. It just makes it that much better when another old school song was played next... which was "Out ta Get me".

"IRS" was next. Great vocals by Axl. The crowd was digging it again more than I thought they would be for the newer songs. Hearing this live in person is so much better than the leaks that we have heard on the net.

November Rain was next along with Bumblefoot's "Dont Cry" solo. I just couldnt figure out why nobody was into singing along with the solo... ???

ROCKET QUEEN! Man, I thought the roof was going to fall on us! Was incredible! The crowd went insane!

"Madagascar" then "My Michelle" with Baz. I hate to knock him but Baz just cant do the band justice. It was good but I am probably just biased to hearing Axl sing the whole thing.

Then the band started playing something else... I remember thinking "what is this" something entirely new? Then it hit me... "THE OTHER VERSION OF YOURE CRAZY"!! Awesome! We really got a nice treat from that... I was second guessing myself as to whether or not I had heard of the band doing that version lately.

Axl was back and forth in "Youre Crazy". Directly after that, he started the whistle for "Patience". And its like my friend was asking me on the way home... How does he whistle like that after doing everthing that he had done up until then? I dunno man.

NIGHTRAIN!!! BOTTOMS UP MAN! WOW, I was stoked and awestruck.

For the encore, they started out with Chinese Dem. MUCH MUCH better in person than what we have heard so far in the leaks.. just great indeed.

Then we ended the night of course with Paradise City and confetti blowing up high.

Guns n Roses brought their A game and knocked a Grand Slam in my book. Ive been to concerts in the past... but never have I seen something like this. It almost reminded me of that movie Gladiator... where Russell Crowe had just killed everything in sight in the arena and looked up at the crowd and screamed "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?" Hell yeah Axl... Im entertained! I want to do it again!

They were loud, obnoxious, and awesome... just the way it was meant to be.

  8. Alright folks. Im heading out to see the concert in Greensboro. I have a couple of disposable cameras so I should have some nifty pictures tomorrow at some point.

I dont text message so I wont be giving a minute by minute spill about whats happening, but I will keep up with the songs that are played.

    IM OUT.

  9. I honestly dont think a riot will happen. Axl seems to be fairly mellow while on stage and genuinely seems to be having a good time up there while performing.

I like the post above... its kinda true in a way. But I think Axl is a much better singer than Mike Tyson is a boxer. We are all waiting for something great to happen and I think the folks that are attending the show tonight will see some really great stuff.

    WOO!

  10. Hey hey... I think you might be missing my point. Im not saying that I think they should or should not change the set. (Im trying to stay out of that arguement.)

All I am saying is that the picture of the setlist with all of the HIT SONGS MARKED OUT was directed to those who have constantly moaned about the setlist. Thats my whole point really.

  11. There are some dense people here in the forum. Im not saying everybody but there are quite a few.

Take a good long, close, hard look at the setlist people. All of the hits are crossed out. This picture was designed to screw with the people of the internet world that have been moaning and groaning about "when is GNR gonna change the setlist" etc. EVERY single one of the hit songs that put GNR on the map are gone. Im not saying that the ones that were not crossed out arent good songs... they are great, but they just arent the hits that MOST people want to hear when they go to a GNR concert.

Think about this... Most everyone that visits this forum wants GNR to make a killer comeback and so do I... But can you imagine what people would say about a concert where all that was played were the songs that were not crossed out in the SETLIST? I dont think a concert without any old songs would go over to well with the audience or the critics.

All I am saying is that someone loaded that setlist onto GNR's website to mess with the "pissers and moaners".

The positive part of the picture of the setlist is that we may have actually gotten a sneak peek of Chi Dem.

  12. Yeah, this could be a lot worse.... In fact, I was at first thinking the worst when I saw this topic. <_<

Most people like to have all their T's crossed and i's dotted especially when its something like Guns N Roses in concert... So I can understand the frustration. But Im sure all will be fine and your tickets will be there waiting for ya on the 2nd.

Less than a week away now! ROCK ON!

  13. Im going to the GnR concert in GBO. Was wondering what everyone was doing before the concert.

Personally, myself and a couple of buddies are going to Hooters and chow down on some wings and Beer. I was just wondering what everybody else was going to do.

    BW

  14. I seriously think the label has heard the final tracks and they are not impressed and are not going to throw a ton of money behind this thing. It's just a complete fucking nightmare.

As much as I hope this is not the truth... It is a valid speculation. As far as the album being a success, I believe it will. (I hope so anyhoo)

My opinion is that Axl knows that he will be judged on this in a big way.. and yes, I think he does not want to fail. So it may be that he is trying not to hype the album as much so that in his eyes, he will not fail. He might have that feeling of "damed if you do and damned if you dont" in regards to releasing the music.

    Its all speculation anyway.
